Who: Deacon & Rozenwyn Where: The residence of Andais & Rozenwyn When: Thursday, December 2nd, evening
Deacon woke up much later than he usually did that evening for reasons which would probably be apparent by now. Upon waking, he did his best not to disturb Andais when he crawled out of bed and pulled on the jeans that had been tossed to the floor during the night. Shirtless and barefoot, he padded down to the kitchen in search of coffee and something to eat.
Roz had coffee made and since she was inside, Ronan was letting her be. He was always close and she liked that. She turned, hearing the footsteps and smiled, "Coffee is on the counter," she nodded toward the pot, most of them drank it like water.
The guard did his best to suppress the yawn that threatened to boil over while scratching his hand through his hair. He grunted some kind of greeting in acknowledgement and rummaged around for a mug. Once he'd gotten some coffee into him, he was a little more personable.
"Yeah, that's the stuff." A more alert smile was given to the other princess and opened the fridge to see about getting some food in him, "Evening, Princess Rozenwyn." He looked up from the ice box, "How are you this evening?"
She never stopped him from calling her Princess, Ronan she scolded, Deacon she let it go. "I am well, you seem well also." she commented even though he was tired, she had a feeling he was, after a few things her cousin had told her.
Deacon paused in his rummaging of the fridge and straightened to consider Rozenwyn's comment. He sipped some coffee and the nodded with a smile, "Yeah...I guess you could say that I am."
She didn't say much, she wasn't willing to push for things. She leaned against hte counter, "Do you have plans with Anadis tonight?"
Having found an apple and peanut butter, Deacon pulled both out and found a knife to start cutting the apple up into slices. "Andais is still asleep, but I think she might want to go out tonight." The guard shrugged, biting into an apple slice.
"She does enjoy leaving the house," she did as well. She often took Ronan with her, when she stayed close but wanted out. He seemed so uneasy when she'd leave on her own.
He chuckled after taking another sip of coffee, "Indeed she does." Deacon then added with mixed emotion, "And hiding from the other guard." He sighed, partaking of another apple slice and peanut butter. N "The other guard needs to be reassigned" she said simply. She knew he was not a good match for her cousin, and she would talk to her Uncle, but she promised to let her cousin wait the short time that had been asked for
"You have no disagrement from me on that matter, Princess." Deacon said vehemently, sipping more coffee, "I spoke with Andais on it last night and she said her father didn't want to hear anything more about it until after the Solstice." The guard scratched a hand through his hair again with an aggravated sigh, "If it were anyone else with the request, I would seriously reconsider it, but it is the King, afterall..." He hadn't wanted to argue with Andais about it, but Deacon felt that a replacement was needed immediately. He couldn't have someone protecting that which had become most precious to him that he didn't trust implicitly.
"I am aware, I have told her I would speak with him after. If she speaks, he will ignore it as the complaints of his spoiled daughter. But if others speak of it, he will listen," she was sure of that, and she was a good one to speak with the man.
Another chuckle came from the guard, "I offered to speak to her father as well." Deacon cut up the rest of the apple and finished off his first mug of coffee before refilling it.
"I do not know how Uncle will react to a guard speaking with him. Perhaps after I have, your support will help to say him"
As he poured more coffee, a smile appeared on his face once again and Deacon said, "Anything for Andais, I will do." The guard meant every word.
"I know you will," she said as she looked over at him. She did, after watching him around her cousin, and listening to her cousin speak
The smile remained on Deacon's features and after washing down another slice of apple with more coffee he inquired after the other princess' plans for the night, "What are you up to this evening?"
"I have no plans at the moment. I am not sure if Ronan wishes to do anything, he might."
"I'm sure Andais wouldn't mind your company if we went out." He sipped more coffee, "That is, of course, if it is your wish to do so."
"No, I don't" she said honestly. One good thing about being fey, rudeness wasn't rude, it was honesty. She didn't feel like going out with them, and it wasn't her being rude, just being honest about it.
In reply, Deacon simply shrugged, "As you wish, Princess." The guard took no offense in Rozenwyn's honesty; She said her piece and that was that. By then half the apple had been consumed and Deacon left the other half for Andais as he pulled out another mug from one of the cabinets and poured the other princess a mug of coffee. He, of course, added what he'd consider a ridiculous amount of cream and sugar to the contents and grabbed last half of the apple for his charge. On his way toward the stairs, he paused to press a kiss to Rozenwyn's hair, "Have a good evening, Princess."
She smiled and she gave a small nod, "Deacon," she looked after him, "Anadis is lucky to have you looking after her, and caring for her," it her own way she was thanking him, thanking him in a manner that would not offend the older fey
He paused at the bottom of the stairs, turning back to the other princess. A small smile was on his lips, "I am lucky that she chose me, in addition to you, to put her trust in, Princess Rozenwyn." He gave Rozenwyn a small bow and headed up the stairs, carrying two mugs and balancing the small plate of apple slices and peanut butter.
