An Offer He Can't Refuse?
Who: Mere and Dave
When: Wednesday Evening, 12/1
Where: Avarice
After making a call or two around to figure out where Dave was, Mere walked into Avarice, scanning the room for him. She was actually on more of a business thing tonight. Strangely, for being all of nearly nineteen years old (she missed a birthday as a vampire), she was actually getting very business-y with Ben as of late. The club plus some work that she was putting into this show thing was showing that she was growing up a tad. Neat. When she spotted him, she started to head straight over to him, looking like someone who stripped instead of ran a strip club in her tiny green dress. "Dave Ford?" she asked when she reached him.
"Oh, heyyy... Meredith!" Ok, so they'd never officially met. He knew her from having seen her perform many times. And from, likely, having perverse thoughts about her. He gave that charmingly lazy grin and scratched his head before extending a hand to her. "Yeah... I'm Dave... nice to meetcha."
She grinned and shook his hand before taking a seat next to him. "Pleasure's mine," she said to him before ordering a martini for herself. "So, I got a business proposition for you that might help get a lot of good attention for your band if you're interested."
"I'm always up for helping my band..." He said with a tone that didn't exactly hide that while a nice guy? Dave wasn't exactly a rocket scientist.
"Did you happen to hear about the show that we're were trying to put together for Pat McConnell? The dating show?" Because he would have had to be under a rock not to have heard about it in LA. Seriously. "Well, he backed out because he actually started dating someone. Good for him, bad for those trying to put the show together. I was actually wondering if you would be interested in doing it instead." He was one of the few good singers in LA who was single, after all, and not terrible to look at, either. "That is...if you're single."
"Well..." He started to think about it. And comically enough, you could SEE him thinking. Idiot. "I don't really KNOW. I mean, my guitar player kinda likes me, I think..." He thinks. Jesus Christ.
Mere smiled at him. "Darlene?" Mere knew about Darlene, past and present. "Well, unless the two of you are officially dating or something, should that really stop you from at least having fun?"
"Well... I... I guess not?" He blinked, trying to decide if Darlene would be upset...
If Mere actually knew what had went on between these two, she may not be so pushy about this. Well, maybe not, anyway, if only because, when angry, Darlene was a psycho hose beast. However, she didn't, and Dave was kind of making it sound more like a mild crush than anything else. "If nothing else, you can always talk it over with your band..."
"Yeah... that's true..." He thought, realizing, if nothing else, Paige and Lilly would laugh their asses off.
"Why don't you get back to me after you ask them, then?" she suggested, reaching into her purse and pulling out a business card with her number on it. She passed it to him and smiled.
"Dude. Totally." He said with a big, cheesy grin. For someone indestructible... he really had a soft, soft head, huh.
