Fully Making Friends
Who: Buffy and Ginny
Where: Eden
When: Monday Night, 11/29
So... whether the DJ tonight was trying to help the local bands or just trying to sort of kiss Ginny's ass, he was playing what seemed to be a mix of songs from all the bands on Full Moon Records tonight, including anything he had from Coma White and the few tracks Ginny had given him that she'd cut with Meredith on the side. Hey... if it WAS to make Ginny feel good, it was working, as she was all smiles, sitting at the bar in a long black gown that looked like something Elvira would wear... only with elbow length gloves and, if possible, MORE cleavage.
Buffy had just walked in herself. Kevin was doing some late evening practice with his sisters and Rachelle for their Van Warren band, but he was supposed to meet Buffy later. When she spotted Ginny sitting at the bar, she gave the girl a wave and headed over. "Mind if I join you?" she asked.
"Hey!" Ginny exclaimed with a bright grin, her voice still a hilariously shy whisper. "Buffy, right?" Now... that WAS sweet. She remembered the names of all the fans she met, especially the ones who made a real impression on her. And while they'd only met once or twice, she LIKED Buffy. "Please! I'm bored out of my mind."
"Yep, that would be me," she said, taking a seat beside her. Buffy had certainly enjoyed hanging with Ginny the couple of times that they had the chance. "Things boring for the oh so famous singer tonight?"
"Yeah... my girlfriend is working on some kind of spell tonight, and Paige and Lilly, well... my guess is they're off doing things that most college boys would empty their bank accounts for a chance to watch." Annnnd, sadly? That was it. Ginny really didn't have many friends outside of her band, due mostly to her own trust issues.
Buffy giggled. "Sounds like you may need to expand your social circle a tiny bit...no offense. Just...you know, all your band members are busy tonight." Wow...that sounded less crappy in her head, swear!
"I know, I know... I don't MEAN to be antisocial... I just clam up and get quiet when I'm around people I don't know." She said with a DEEP blush, caused mostly because of damn pale she was.
"Well, you're talking to me, so that's totally a start, right?" Buffy asked with a smile. Of course, Buffy was likely to walk up and talk to just about anyone.
"Your boyfriend and his sisters have tried to talk to me..." She said with a little smile. "Chloe is... a little overwhelming for me. But Kevin and Lucy are very sweet."
Buffy laughed. "Chloe is likely to overwhelm anyone with the pure amount of sugar and hyperness she has going through her. No offense, she's totally sweet, but damn that girl has energy." Scary energy, actually.
"Yeah. And... you know? It occurs to me that you're a fan of the band, but you've never met the others." Ginny pulled out her cell phone and started typing in a text message. "I'm going to let the other girls know right now that they all have to meet one of my favorite fans."
Buffy actually blushed just a tad. "Well, I'd totally love to meet them when they have the chance," she admitted. she really did love the band, after all.
[23:21] giantsgrrl90: "You really ARE a sweet girl, Buffy. I enjoy talking with you." Ok, and if she were single? Ginny would likely see if she could get the blonde to hop the fence. But shhh.
Well, THIS Buffy was straight. Unlike the comics Buffy who just hops into bed with anyone. (The mun is not bitter. Not at all.) So, no dice there, Ginny. "Thanks. I enjoy talking to you, too."
"If it doesn't seem weird to you, maybe we could exchange numbers or something? I'd love to have you over my place for lunch sometime..." Now see... as sweet as it was? This was how desperate Ginny was for friends. Did you ever see Kurt Cobain or Steven Tyler inviting fans over to their house to hang out? Sigh.
Like Buffy cared if it may have been construed as desperate at all. She actually enjoyed hanging out with Ginny, so who cared? (And Kurt Cobain shot himself in the head. Bad comparison, Ginny.) "I'd really enjoy that, actually."
"Fantastic!" The busty brunette said with an adorable little bounce (really, anyone who saw this would NEVER believe what a scary animal she was onstage), as she wrote her number down on a slip of paper. "I just got a REALLY nice place near the Strip. It used to be an old medieval costume shop... I had it renovated and turned into a small house, but kept the Gothic decor."
"Sounds great," Buffy said, taking the number and slipping it into her purse. She really couldn't wait to hang out with Ginny now. "You're place really sounds amazing. I'm still living at home right now, so same old thing for me."
"I bet your family's as wonderful as you are." Ginny said with some degree of certainty. She couldn't picture this sweet girl coming from a family that was anything less.
Buffy nodded. "They really are," she told her. "Still, sometimes I think that it would be nice to live on my own and just come in for visits." Even though she she totally had plenty of space now, sometimes it would be nice to not have to answer questions from her mom as soon as she got in.
"Well... maybe I'll get to meet them sometime." She said with a big, sweet grin. "Come on... let's go dance. Have some fun."
"Having some fun sounds like a blast," Buffy said, hopping off her chair and smoothing out some wrinkles in her shirt.
