Two Friends Hanging Out
Who: Rachelle and Tara
Where: Rachelle and Neely's Apartment Above Avarice
When: Nov. 3rd (Backdated)
Rachelle had quickly tidied up the apartment (which, in Chelle!terms, basically meant shoving everything in piles under the sofa and into the nearest closet, wanting it to look neat for Tara. Her oldest friend was ging to be visiting this evening, while Neely was out... well... doing whatever the hell Neely tended to do while out on her own. Baggy jeans hung low on her hips, her upper body clad in an almost skintight white wifebeater over a black bra as she finally flopped down into her favorite recliner, turning the TV to SportsCenter.
Tara walked up the stairs to Rachelle and Neely's apartment, feeling a teensy bit nervous about actually visiting Rachelle's apartment for the first time. She also inwardly wondered how these girls slept when they were living above a club. She'd ask later. She finished getting up the stairs and knocked on the door.
"Ennnter!" Chelle called out, unlocking the door with a nifty little remote control thingie they had near the TV. Damn, she loved this apartment.
Tara turned the nob and walked inside. "Wow...I didn't think that this place would be so HUGE," Tara said as she walked around for a moment.
"Dude, I know, right?" Chelle cracked up, hopping up to run over and hug the blonde. "This family is like... STUPIDLY rich, I swear. So how's it been, babe? I hear you got to meet my Neely..."
Tara hugged her back. "I did meet her a couple of days ago at the Sugar Shack, actually," she said with a slight smile on her face. "She seems really nice." Well, that's one way of putting it.
"Yeah, she's a trip." Ya think? Geez. "So... everything going ok? Still got the hocus-pocus goin' and everything?" Hocus-pocus? Really, Rachelle?
Tara actually giggled. She was used to Rachelle referring to it that way now. "Yes, I've still got the hocus pocus going on," she told Rachelle. "I'm actually enjoying my job working with the magic shop as well."
"Damn, I've MISSED you, ya doof. And, um... thanks. For not getting scared and running off when you saw how strange and shit my new family is." Chelle smirked, realizing she really DID live with the real life Addams Family.
Tara blinked. "I grew up with my mother practicing witchcraft," she pointed out to Rachelle. "Sure, things are incredibly strange here, but it's not like I was never exposed to this sort of thing before." Plus, her father had her convinced she was a demon for a long while. That was messed up, too.
"I still can't believe I never knew. Your mom! A witch! God, this shit's been around me my whole life and I never knew till a year or so ago. Damn." She shook her head, a smirk creeping onto her face. "Oh, and to more pressing matters... how bad did Neels flirt with you?"
"Well, most people don't talk about it because, well, most people don't believe even when you tell them." It was the truth. "And Neely actually didn't flirt with me TOO bad. I've heard some stories about her, but I was pleasantly surprised."
"God bless m'girl. She musta known that you're like a sister to me. Otherwise she'd have flirted till you fainted. It's a gift she has, really." Chelle raised a brow then, as if thinking of something. "Gotta ask... you mackin' on the hottie that runs that shop yet?"
Tara blushed and shook her head. "N...no...Ms. Zamora is a little old for m...me," she said, looking down at her feet for a second in a vain hope that her blush would go away after a few seconds. She tucked a stray piece of blond hair behind her ear.
"Shit... older the berry the sweeter the juice!" ....that's not even the saying, Rachelle. Sigh. "Seriously, McClay... we gotta get yer shy ass hooked up with someone. Your drought is gonna rival the Sox soon."
She shrugged. "Guess I'm just waiting for the right person, I think," she said to Rachelle. Not everyone finds their soulmate like, a week after getting into town.
"I tried to tell Neely's friend Cynthia how awesome you are, cuz she's a hot little piece, but she kept getting mad and saying something about how she's not even 2% gay." Rachelle shrugged and laughed. "I didn't know that was possible around here."
That actually made Tara giggle. OK, so even she had noticed just how...well...gay LA seemed to be. Not that it was a terrible thing. It made her feel like she was closer to fitting in than ever. "Well, I'm sure I'll find someone." She had her eye on someone, but she wasn't sure if Willow was into girls or not.
"Damn right ya will. And don't go making any Christmas plans. Warning you NOW. Me and Neely are gonna host the annual Bale Family Christmas Shindig at our place this year... and you do NOT wanna miss this."
Tara smiled. Seriously? Like she'd go home? Not at all. "I wouldn't mind spending Christmas with you guys," she said to Rachelle with a smile. She was sure she could handle that.
"Fantastic. It's MOSTLY family, but there's a few friends coming, and... shit, you're practically family anyway." And really... from Rachelle? That was actually kind of sweet.
Tara nodded. She'd be very happy to come over and hang with them, although she would probably stick more to Rachelle than talking to too many other people. "Sounds like a plan then, huh?"
"Yep. Just make sure not to get in the way of Hurricane Neely. Seriously." Chelle cracked up, raising an eyebrow. "You've not seen ANYTHING until you've seen Neely at a Christmas party. She tends to run up to random family member and just... pounce them for hugs. It's like watching Joey Porter just sack some poor unsuspecting QB or something. Like... person's just standing there, and suddenly BAM!"
That...actually freaked Tara out just a tad. It wasn't that Neely wasn't nice...Tara just wasn't exactly 'huggy' with people she didn't really know. God, she was going to fit right in with these loons, wasn't she? "I'll...t...try to make sure to hide then," Tara said.
"Oh, don't worry... Neely generally only pounces a few certain people. As long as Nevada, Ben, Baily, or Brandon is there, she'll go for one of them to get her tackles out." Think she knew the blonde wolf by now?
Seemed like she did. "Well, that's probably a good thing," Tara said with a nod. "Should I bring food or anything?" She couldn't even remember the last time she had done any sort of 'big' Christmas thing. She typically just did something for the Winter Equinox by herself.
"Nah. Those rich bitches got more money than god. They'll make what they want and just buy the rest. Just bring your gorgeous self and you'll be fine." Aww. Chelle reached over and cutely pinched Tara's cheek. "We gotta get you hooked up, for real. You're way too pretty to stay single."
"Well...I *do* kind of have someone that I like, and I think she likes me," Tara admitted. "I just have to find out if she's actually into girls or not." Tara was pretty sure that Willow liked her...but it was hard to be sure. She could just think of Tara as a really good friend, after all.
"Well, I'll have to meet this chick. My gaydar's off the fuckin' CHARTS, yo. If she likes the bitches, I'll know it. Trust me." Oh god. Can you even PICTURE this scene now?
God...shudder the thought. "Well, the next time she comes into Ashes to Ashes...I'll make sure to try and actually ask her out or something." Or at least do SOMETHING other than stutter and blush.
