Where Nannies Go To Hangout
Who: Morgan and Helena
Where: The Park
When: Friday Afternoon - November 19
Helena had promised Bella if she had been good that week, she'd take her to the park on Friday. The little girl had done her best, so Helena kept her end of the bargain. She walked with Bella next to her and Brayden in his stroller. She moved over to one of the benches and let Bella run off to play on the equipment. "Stay where I can see you, little one..." she called after the running toddler. She scooped up little Brayden and kissed his temple. "Such a sweet little boy." she said as he smiled at her. She had to say that this was the most fulfilling job that she could ever imagine having. She loved babies and little kids. She sat down on the bench and bounced the little boy on her knees. She certainly stood out against most nannies, pierced, tattooed, her hair black with blue streaks in the front this time. a pair of leggings and a tee shirt dress on and a pair of low top chucks just in case she had to chase after Bella.
Morgan wasn't dressed as colorfully as Helena was. She went with the more traditional and conservative dress code. Which was why when she arrived at the park pushing Cash leisurely in his stroller, Morgan was wearing a pair of black slacks and a white shell, over which was worn a green cardigan, and a pair of black low heeled shoes. Her hair this afternoon was worn loose and free spilling down past her shoulders.
This was only Morgan's second venture out with Cash to the park, and while there were a handful of other nannies there, Morgan wasn't really on a first name basis with any off them. Settling herself down on the bench next to the one Helena was sitting on, Morgan turned the stroller so that Cash faced the most active area of the park they were in. Not that the little boy would know what was going on before his eyes, but at least he had something to watch.
Helena smiled as the other woman sat down. She wasn't like the other nannies, she knew that. She had come to realize that she'd never be like the other nannies and embraced it. She settled Brayden on her lap, his head settled against her chest as he looked out at the park... granted he didn't know what was going on either, just that he was being held, which was good enough for him. She looked over at the other woman. "Hey, I haven't seen you before..." she said as she smiled brightly. "I'm Helena." she said holding out one hand to her, her other arm around Brayden, securing him tightly against her chest.
"Morgan." She returned with a smile leaning across the short space that separated one bench from the other to shake the woman's hand. "I've only been nanny to Master Cash here for a short time. This is actually like the second, maybe third time I've been able to bring him out to the park." Morgan explained reaching over to slowly swing the stroller around so she could carefully take Cash out and settle the wee babe on her lap so he could have a clearer view of all that was around him.
She smiled. "Well that's pretty awesome. I've been Nannying for the Bells and Bray for probably about six months I think... It kinda all just blends in together now," she said with a small laugh. "But he keeps getting bigger and bigger," she added as she looked down at Brayden. She had to admit the little boy had a special place in her heart, probably because he was a baby still, so she got to actually hold him most of the time.
"I've only been Nannying for young Cash here for about three weeks. The family I had been Nanny for for three years moved overseas, a move I chose not to make. Luck just happened to be on my side and I found employment within days of terminating my position with the Meriweather family." Morgan shared with the other Nanny. Helena might not be dressed in the same style or look as the other nannies did, but the woman was certainly more friendly then the others who frequented the park with their charges.
She smiled. "Well he seems to have taken to you pretty well. Bray here took to me faster than Bella did... but she's a little older. I think she was worried that she wouldn't get as much attention from her Mommy maybe?" she said shrugging. She smiled as Brayden wiggled in her arms and she turned him around and let him lay his head against her shoulder as he yawned. Helena had always been very friendly. She'd never found a reason to not be friendly with someone new. She rubbed her hand against his back as she rocked him back and forth. She looked over towards where Bella was toddling around, just making sure that the little girl wasn't getting in trouble.
"Young Masters such as your Bray tend to take to people a bit quicker then those a little older. At least that's my take on the matter." Morgan smiled with a quick glance toward where Bella was playing. "I think children, even those young as Bray and Cash here, have good intuition when it comes to people. They sense the good from the bad." Which was probably why the infant took quite well to Morgan as Bray apparently had to Helena.
Helena nodded her head. "Yeah the littler they are, sometimes the easier it is for them to take to someone. Though the last family that I nannied for, the little girl didn't like anyone besides me, her Mom and her Dad holding her ever." she said shrugging. "It took her a little bit to get comfortable with even me..."
"Some little ones are fussy that way, though I think they are of a small minority. The last family I nannied for, the little boy seemed to have taken to me almost as quickly as young Cash here." Morgan said glancing down with a smile at the babe she held.
She nodded. "Yeah. She was absolutely adorable, but fussy as could be... I am glad that Bray and Bells aren't fussy like that. I think that I hit the jackpot with this one." she said as she held the now snoozing Brayden. "He's easy to handle and loving."
"Be thankful that he's manageable now, because once he gets used to using his legs he's going to be quite the handful. I think, though, that they're most precious and adorable when they reach that age. They want to investigate and explore everything. And the questions that come out of a little ones mouth." Morgan laughed light and soft at that glancing down at Cash who's eyes now seemed to be drooping closed to take him off into a peaceful slumber.
She smiled as she looked at the little sleeping boy in her arms. "I am actually looking forward to him moving around. I like chasing the little girl down, granted I'm going to be wore out chasing both of them," she said with a small laugh.
"One of the very few downsides to watching such active toddlers. Though I have to admit I wouldn't change those moments for anything." Morgan smiled over to the other woman.
Helena smiled as she kissed Brayden's temple and shifted the little boy to a better position. "plus, it means I don't have to exercise." she said with a small laugh. She smiled wide whenever Bella came over to show her the lady bug she'd caught. She held her hand out and let the lady bug crawl up over her hand. "That's awesome, Bells. Very pretty."
"Children certainly do provide all the exercise a person might need." Morgan said to Helena before her attention was directed to the little girl and her precious little find. "You know, Bella, if you make a wish and then blow the lady bug back home your wish will come true." Morgan found herself telling Bella as it had been something told to her when she was a child, though there weren't many times her wishes came true.
She smiled as the woman interacted with Bella. The little girl nodded her head and closed her eyes and blew on the lady bug, making it fly away. Helena smiled as she watched the little girl. she put a free arm around her and kissed her temple softly. "Hope you wished for something amazing." she said smiling and her nose scrunched up as the little girl nodded enthusiastically.
