Who: Andais & Rozewyn Where: Their Home When: 11/17 - evening
Roz was sitting outside on the porch, enjoying the warm night air. She was glad they had a home with nature around it, she wouldn't have liked being in some big building with no trees or anything else around them. She needed the air. She had a mug of coffee in hand as she looked out into the yard.
Andais had just showered up after punishing one of her guards for making her stay in the night before. Granted, it was for her own good. She had been in one of her moods. But she walked out of the house, her long dark hair fell down her back, damp. She was dressed in a simple shift dress in black and she didn't wear any makeup. She was feeling much more calm and much more sedate than she had been whenever she woke up earlier that evening. She saw Roz and nodded to her. "What are you drinking?" she asked curiously.
"Coffee," she spoke up before looking over her shoulder at her cousin. She knew what she had been doing, and while she had no problem with it, she hadn't felt like listening to it, so she had been outside since the punishment started. She felt a little bad for the guards, but her guards weren't ever Anadis's toys so she didn't make waves about her cousin's guards. "Have fun?"
She thought for a few moments about the question. She shook her head no. "Not really. I did not want to punish him. He should not have disobeyed me last night." she said simply. She sat down on one of the chairs that was on their back porch, tucking her feet underneath her. "He will be fine in about an hour... I didn't really enjoy it," she said shrugging.
"What did he do? Tell you not to go out and find a play thing?" she asked looking at her cousin when the other woman sat down. Anadis was one of the few Fae that Roz would ask questions of, but they were so close in age, and so close in general that half the time, she knew the answer before she even asked.
She glanced over at her. "He said that I was too unbalanced last night to go anywhere." she said simply as she looked out at their property. She didn't mind Roz questioning her and she didn't mind questioning her either. She had always been glad for her cousin.
"You probably were. We don't want another of the one experience. That won't be fun to clean up with they have modern technology," she pointed out. "Are you going out tonight?"
Her eyes narrowed as she looked at her cousin. "But he could have found a more respectful way to talk to me." she said as she glanced around. "I don't wish for another incident... but he is my guard and I am a Princess. I should be treated with more respect than how he spoke to me last night." she said as she looked at the night. "No, I am not going out tonight. I do not feel like a party."
"Would you have listened if he had said, 'Princess do you find it wise to go out tonight?' I know you, you'd have waved it off. Next time, they will come and find me if they must. But if you weren't in a good head-space, then it was better you didn't go out."
She shrugged softly. "I do not know if I would have or not. Because I was not given the chance to react. I will be their Queen one day, is it not their job to find a better way to deal with me than just rudeness?"
"Is it not also their job to know how to speak to their queen in a fashion that she will listen to their council and their warnings? They often stay in the background, Anadis, but sometimes, their warnings are ignored. They can read your moods, almost as well as I can. They are here to keep you safe, to keep you out of the knowing eyes"
She sighed and didn't want to admit that she was going to agree with Roz. So she didn't. She pursed her lips as she looked out at the night. "What have you been up to?"
Roz smiled, she knew her cousin. She knew that when the subject was changed it meant Anadis knew she was right but wouldn't admit it, so she let it go. "I have been spending time at the park and the coffee shop, met a few people."
She nodded her head simply. "That is good. I have met a few people. It has been interesting. Humans here are different and I met a werewolf. He was intriguing."
"I think I have only met one real human, and even she felt a bit off. But the first girl was some sort of demon, I'm not sure what type, and I think the man was a were of some type"
She nodded her head. "I only know what he is because i heard it on the night air... He was interesting. and aggressive." she said with a nod. She approved of the aggression
She smiled, "They always are a bit aggressive, aren't they?" she asked looking over at her cousin.
She looked at her. "The women don't tend to be... human women aren't always aggressive. which is sad. Because women are much sexier whenever they're aggressive."
"I wasn't talking about human women, we were talking about an aggressive were," she pointed out. "When get on my nerves, I don't know how you put up with them for very long"
She shrugged. "Yes, most weres are aggressive, but I've been dealing with mostly humans or fae lately... it was refreshing. And I don't put up with much of anyone very long... if you haven't noticed, I haven't had a pet for some time."
"But you do miss having a pet," she pointed out. "Are you hoping to find one on this trip?" she had no idea if her cousin wanted someone to bring back this time.
She looked down at the floor and pursed her lips. She didn't like thinking about losing her last pet. It had hurt so much him telling her that he wanted to go back to being human, he hadn't minded the aging thing whenever he wanted to leave. She felt her eyes sting with tears that she wouldn't shed. "I don't know if I want another pet." she admitted.
Roz looked at her cousin and reached over for her hand, "Maybe I'll get you a puppy," she said with a smile. She meant it to, she could get the girl a puppy.
She looked at her cousin and thought. "A puppy?" she asked her brow arching. "I kind of like the idea of a puppy..."
"I'll get you a puppy. You want it to be a surprise? Or you want to come with me to pick it out?"
She thought. "A surprise. But I don't want a little one. I want one that will be big when it grows up."
"I can do that. It will be cute. Do you want a boy or a girl? And do you want fluffy or not fluffy?"
"A little boy... girls are a lot of work... and um... not a lot of work as far as grooming."
"Ok I can work with that"
She smiled at her cousin. "You are too good to me."
"I like you what can I say?"
She felt her smile spread wider across her lips. "It is probably a good thing that you do. Because you tend to be stuck with me."
"Yeah we'd be in a world of trouble if I hated your ass, and didn't enjoy your company"
She snickered. "Very very true. Because I think that My Dad and your Mom had always hoped we'd be as close as we are."
"I know my mom did. She told me when you were born we'd be close and we'd grow up together and she'd be damned if that didn't' work out"
She smiled. "I am glad that they thought to give us to one another. I know that I'm not always... balanced, but I know that you will keep me from doing anything too bad once I take the throne."
"I will, and unlike your guards who fear you, I will tell you bluntly if you are going to do something too out there. But you know I am not doing it to be rude, just to save your reputation and your word"
She nodded her head softly. "I know... I don't think that they both fear me... But I know that the one does, probably because I tend to take my anger out on him the most... but he does provoke me."
"I don't think he means to provoke you as much as he means to keep you under a semblance of control so you aren't destroying the humans in a fit"
She nodded her head. "I think he has a temper of his own." she said softly. "I think that's why he doesn't always seem to understand why I get so angry at him."
"He probably does, some of our best guards are similar to us. They can mirror us, to know when we are going to snap or need their support he most"
She nodded her head. "Probably. He's my personal darkness. He doesn't seem to understand how he can make me so angry though. I think that m other guard is tending to him..."
"I'm sure he is, do I need to send mine to a well?" she asked looking at her cousin, "Did you injure him that badly?"
She shook her head. "No, I didn't. He should be healed before the evening is up. I didn't really have it in me to really punish him." she said softly.
She nodded some looking at her cousin, "Have you had dinner yet?"
She through for a long moment, really having to think if she had eaten. "I don't think so."
"Come on you should eat. Do you want to order in or have me cook?"
She stood up and looked at her cousin and shrugged. "I don't really care. I'm not very hungry." she said softly.
"When did you eat last?" she asked looking at Anadis
She thought long and hard. "I don't know..." she said softly.
"Then you need to eat, I'll make you ice cream," she offered up as she walked into the house holding the door for her cousin
She walked with her nodding her head. Her not eating could account for her really low mood. She walked to the center island and sat down. She crossed her ankles and let her arms lean against the counter.
She went to the freezer and grabbed the ice cream. She started scooping it out and looked at her cousin, "Want things on it?"
She looked at it and pursed her lips. "Do we have pecans... and chocolate sauce?" she asked.
"Of course we do, magic chocolate or regular?"
"Magic chocolate. It amuses me."
"It does me too" she said as she poured it and the nuts on the ice cream before setting it in front of her
She smiled at her cousin. She looked down at her ice cream. She didn't bother saying thank you, because she knew that it wasn't their way, and she knew that Roz knew she was grateful for how good of care she took of her sometimes.
Roz put the rest away then sat down with her own. "Eat up, I demand an empty bowl." She knew the guards sometimes stiffled with how they spoke to each other and namely how she did with Anadis. But she also knew how to handle her cousin
She quietly ate her ice cream, and had to admit that she felt a bit better because she was getting food. "You will get it... ice cream is one of my favorite human foods."
"I know, its why I make it when you are being unhungry and uncooperative about eating," she said with a smile
She smiled as she looked at her older cousin. It was more like they were sisters. She had always looked up to Roz. She shrugged. "Sometimes I just forget to eat. They usually remind me whenever I get testy."
"You've been testy since yesterday, clearly. Did you not eat most of yesterday either?" she asked. She figured that could be why she was so angry about the guards not letting her leave and maybe why they wouldn't"
She shrugged. "I don't know... I don't keep track of those things." she said as she looked up from her bowl. "I had some Chinese whenever we ordered that... that's the last thing I really remember eating."
She arched a brow, "I'm going to start putting a list up for you to remember to eat more often"
She frowned. "Fine."
"Don't pout at me, you need to eat. If you want to go out and not have the guards tell you no"
She sighed. "I don't remember to eat, its not like I go out of my way not to eat. Its just not one of the things that I really worry about."
She sighed right back, "Try to eat at least once a day for me ok? Work on it?"
She nodded her head as she looked at her. "I will try to eat at least once a day. I will try and get them to remind me as well." she said as she finished off her ice cream.
"Good plan. Might find you get to go out more and punish the nice guards a bit less"
She nodded her head as she looked at her cousin. "I try not to be mean to them... most of the time."
"And you do a good job, just eat more, I think you'll find yourself less testy"
She got up from the table and put her bowl into the dishwasher. She wasn't above cleaning up after herself whenever she was living out amongst the humans. At least her dishes. Sure they had a maid that cleaned the house, but it wasn't an all day every day thing. and she didn't know if she could handle having a stranger in the house that much.
She smiled watching her cousin, "So you want to curl up on the couch and watch movies tonight?"
She thought and then nodded. "That sounds pleasant. And I think I'll make some popcorn." she said finding that once she ate, she really did need to eat more.
"Popcorn sounds good, do you care what movie?"
She shook her head softly. "I don't care. Do you want the regular popcorn or the special sprinkly flavors?"
"flavors sound good to me" she said with a nod
She nodded her head as she pulled out the one that they both liked and sat it on the counter before putting the pop corn into the microwave. It wasn't her forte, but thankfully the popcorn button on this one actually did the trick.
Val set the movies up and sat back on the couch as she waited. She put random things in and figured they'd ahve mindless noise
She pulled out the bag and opened it with her face away from the steam so that she didn't get an impromptu facial. She poured some of the flavoring into the bag and scrunched the top, shaking it before she put it into two bowls, one for each of them. She walked into the livingroom with the popcorn and handed her a bowl before settling into the other side of the couch.
She curled up on the couch and smiled taking the bowl. She popped some into her mouth as she flipped the movie on, "I put a random movie in I hope it works out"
She curled up on her side of the couch and smiled. "I'm sure that it will be fine." she said as she munched on the popcorn.
