Baily Takes a Quick Visit to Vegas
Who: Baily and Gwen
Where: Avarice II, Vegas
When: Friday Night, 11/12
Mostly to take her mind off of the fact that she knew Blake was out hunting (which, although she knew the girl was good at it, it STILL always freaked her out), Gwen was sitting at the bar at A2, rockin' a purple corset and uber tight black jeans, loosely-laced black combat boots on her feet. The blonde grinned lazily as she listened to the music, bobbing her head a little as she slowly nursed the bottle of root beer she held in her hand.
Baily walked in and couldn't help but stop and take a look at the pace for a moment before going to find Gwen. So, her cousin Bronte was apparently doing VERY well with this place. After a few moments, she looked toward the bar and saw Gwen, heading over. "Hey, chick," she said, sitting down at the bar and ordering a drink. "How's life treating you?"
"Holy FUCK! Baily?!?" Gwen exclaimed with a loud, happy laugh, leaning over to wrap her friend in a HUGE hug. "What brings you out to the City of Sin? You finally learn how to have fun or something?" She asked teasingly, with a little wink. "Looking great as usual, I see..."
Baily hugged her back, showing a touch more warmth than usual. "Figured I'd come out and check out my cousin's club, see the sights." Ok, she really came to chatter about her life's recent developments, but in a moment. "Not looking so bad yourself."
"Well duh. It's ME. Shame you didn't get here when we were both here... I'm sure Blake would love to see you. So how're things in the life of Baily?" Gwen grinned brightly, taking her friend's hand sweetly. Well... wasn't Gwen just becoming the most affectionate thing anymore, hm?
"Damn shame then, huh?" Baily asked playfully. "Me, huh? Things have been kind of exciting..." Gee, how do you put that you're kind of doing the ex of your friend's best friend?
"Exciting? How so? Because I know that tone. I've heard it MANY a time from MANY a person. And THAT is the tone of someone who's excited but ashamed. Meaning? You've been fuckin' someone who ain't yer man. So spill." Yep. Leave it to Gwen to sum up Baily's situation like a bad Maury episode, huh?
"Well, I don't technically have a man, so that's not where the almost guilt is coming from." Shit. She just realized that now she and Gwen had shared a man. Weird. "It's Pat, OK?"
"Wait, you don't have a...." she hadn't even gotten that first part process yet before that second part hit her. "Wait.... you hooked up with PAT???" Gwen shrieked, breaking out into a wide grin. Ok, probably NOT the reaction Baily was expecting, hm? "Dude, that's awesome! You better keep m'boy happy, ya hear? Oh, and now we HAVE to dish about him, you realize?"
Baily arched an eyebrow. Most definitely not what she was expecting. "Considering I suggested that he do the ridiculous idea of a show Jack and Mere Delany came up with, not sure if I'm doing that or not." She honestly wasn't sure if that was a good idea, in retrospect.
"Wait... you want to be with him... and you RECOMMENDED he do the damn show?" Gwen gawked, looking as though she might smack the other girl in the back of the head. "You... DO realize what a catch he is, right? He's a decent guy through and through, he loves with everything he has in him... and good LORD did he ruin me for ever being with another man."
"What did he do to do that? Bust your womb open?" Contrary to popular belief, Baily could be just as raunchy as everyone else. She just didn't share much of her personality with anyone but those few she trusted. "As sad as this sounds, I didn't want to be rebound girl like Iris was. I wanted him to be sure that he wanted me, not just anyone so that he won't be alone." Yeah, she had at least put thought into this ridiculous idea.
"What did he do?" Gwen asked with a glare. "Girl... if you REALLY hooked up with him, you do NOT need to be asking that question. Seriously. Most brutally awesome sex I have EVER had with a man." The slayer raised an eyebrow, as if challenging Baily to dispute that. "And I get the Iris thing. But now... you're getting kinda worried about that show, huh."
"I know that. Even I can make an off color joke now and then," Baily pointed out simply. "And yeah, maybe a few second thoughts and worries, OK? don't exactly want to take it back now, plus Pat's kind of stuck in it anyway."
"Have you thought about getting yourself on the damn thing?" Oh no. Gwen. Shut up. "Seriously... show the goofball you'll fight for him? I mean let's be honest, B." She grinned and gave that 'no bullshitting' eyebrow-arch. "You know you ain't NEVER gonna find another man like him."
Baily actually laughed at first. The idea sounded goofy and like something out of a movie at first. Then...holy hell she had a point. "I'll talk to Ben tomorrow. I don't think they have all the spots filled yet. Even if they do, I know he'll bump off some bimbo for me."
"I knew it. You're totally gone for him already." Gwen laughed, but in a sweet way. "What.. I mean... how did this all even HAPPEN? You know you came to me to talk... so talk!"
"I don't know...it just kind of happened one night. We were drinking at Avarice and he kissed me...and it felt like what I've been missing all my damn life." She really had no way of explaining it. "I'm just terrified Patience will come back again and...shit, I'm sorry, Gwen." She hadn't meant to bring up Patience, but it was one of her worries. Patience would show up and Pat would go running back to her, leaving Baily high and dry.
"Don't apologize. What Patience did... was cowardly. She left Pat to raise their kid by himself, and left me and Paige and Neely without so much as a goodbye letter. I'm hurt... but I'm not gonna fall apart over it. I have Blake... and she's all I need." D'awww... was this really GWEN? "And I love Pat. Always will. But you're one of my best friends now, Baily. And I want someone to take care of him. And trust me when I say... after this? Pat wouldn't go running back to her. I mean, I won't lie... if she comes back? If you really love him by then, you might need to be willing to fight for him. But he wouldn't just... toss you aside."
Thank the gods Gwen occasionally had a way with words, huh? "Well, no offense, but I still kinda hope that she doesn't come back, at least not expecting Pat to be waiting for her." Cash did need his mother. "If she does, fuck yeah I'm going to fight for him."
"THAT'S my girl." Gwen smiled, kind of loving this whole thing. Hey... she wanted Pat to be happy. Why not with someone she adored? "Now... here's the part where we get serious, and I warn you that while I adore you? If you hurt my Pat? I will SHOOT YOU IN THE FACE."
"Let me just put it this way: I'm a fucking Bale. We do lots of things, but abandoning people just isn't one of them." Derek may argue that a little, but he didn't put up much of a fight, which meant that he had to sense something before this, right? "I'll put myself out of my misery if I fuck this up."
"Good. Now. Time to be all giggly and gushy like you KNOW you wanna be." Gwen laughed, sitting back. "TELL me it wasn't the most mind-blowing sex EVER. Seriously."
"Oh my GOD it was," Baily finally admitted. "You'd never guess just what sort of animal was hiding in such a nice guy, and I'm not just talking about the anaconda in his pants. Just...sweet zombie Jesus it was fantastic."
"Yeah, really. Let's just say me AND Skylar were both.... very happy young women." Gwen laughed, just telling the gospel truth. "Just... word of warning? I don't wanna speak FOR him, because I might be totally wrong here. But he was used to having me and Skylar at the same time, then having Patience, who was cool with bringing other women home.... he's used to that kinda shit now. If you ain't down with that shit, you might wanna talk to him about it soon."
Baily nodded. It was honestly a good point to bring up, especially since they were going to be on that damn show. "That's something I gotta think about." Baily was willing to fool around with a girl for fun (as Candi could attest to), but she just wasn't sure about doing it 'in' a relationship.
"Like I said... it might not be important to HIM, you know?" Gwen knew he enjoyed he and Patience's little... trysts, but wasn't sure if they were VITAL to him or not. "Hell, maybe he's tired of that stuff now. Or at least will be by the time that stupid show is over." She laughed, still thinking the whole thing sounded hilarious. "Oh... and just a warning? Remember Faith? She called me to bullshit the other day. Said her AND Candi are going on the damn thing."
Baily just started cracking up. She couldn't help it. "Oh god, who the hell let the two of them through?" Seriously, Pat might kill Jack, Mere, and Ben when this was over.
"And I *know* those two, Baily. They don't really wanna win. They just both wanna fuck him. Like I said. Fair warning." Hey... she adored Faith AND Candi... but she wanted Pat to end up with someone he could actually have a future with,.
"I'm sure that MOST of those girls are there to just fuck him or get famous or something," Baily pointed out. "I may die of shock if any of them truly want to just flat out BE with him." Which was why, initially, anyway, Baily hadn't been too worried about this show. Now it was just sinking in a bit more.
"Baily... All I can say is this: if yer gonna do this, you gotta be prepared to show more emotion than you've EVER shown before." Gwen sighed, knowing her friend by now. "Because those other bitches... Not only are some of them gonna be like, porn-star hot, but some of them might just be decent broads that LIKE him, and aren't afraid to let him see it."
Baily nodded. "I'm already showing more emotion than I ever have before." Hell, she was admitting worries and weakness right now. "I know there might actually be a decent woman there. Why do you think I am willing to go on TV and look like a fool?"
"Also? Don't take it personally when I laugh my everlovin' ass of at all you morons." Gwen snickered, trying to envision the Springer-like possibilities.
"I think I'd be more shocked if you didn't laugh at us like crazy," Baily admitted. If their situations were switched, Baily would laugh like mad at it. Still, she had kind of put herself into this situation, so now she had to pull herself out.
