You Are the Only Exception
Who: Bastian and Meeghan
Where: Avarice
When: Saturday Evening - October 30, during this post
Bastian had been looking forward to the Halloween dance ever since... well, since she'd heard about it, honestly. She had an outfit picked out almost immediately, and while most people wouldn't get the reference, or understand why she had chosen the outfit – she made her way downstairs (since she still lived above Avarice with Neely and Rachelle) dressed as Tinkerbell. Wand, skirt and all. Although instead of having her hair in pigtails, she had it sexily loose and messy over her shoulders.
She'd arranged to meet Meeghan down in the club since it seemed like a less... complicated option, no matter how much her adopted parents seemed to be okay with her dating the other woman, and while, ordinarily, she looked robotic, there was something about tonight that set a spark of light in her eyes.
Meeghan had tried numerous times to try and pry out of Bastian, prior to the dance, just what the girl was planning on wearing to the Halloween Dance hosted by Avarice. Sadly she had been unsuccessful in her attempts and so showed up at the club dressed as a punk rocker.
Once inside the raven haired singer scanned the crowds with quite the smile breaking when she finally spotted Bastian and weaved her way over through the crowd toward her. "I'd say you looked beautiful tonight," Meeghan whispered coming up behind the girl, "but you're absolutely stunning." She said brushing the loose blond strands to the side to kiss her neck.
"I thought you'd like it," Bastian replied, unable to stop her burgeoning smile. She turned slowly to face the other woman and kissed her as if they hadn't seen each other for weeks. After a moment, she pulled back to take a look at Meeghan's outfit, one eyebrow arching, "I could definitely say the same about you, babe."
"I love it, sweetheart." Meeghan said leaning in to kiss her girlfriend again. "Well, I had wanted to match you, but since you were being so closed mouth about who you were dressing up as I just went with the first fab costume I found."
"It's wonderful," Bastian murmured, joining her hands at the small of Meeghan's back to keep her close. "I think we should get into the habit of wearing outfits all of the time," she added cheekily, giving Meeghan a lopsided smirk(!).
"Well, if you're going to wear this one on a constant basis I think that's a damn good idea, Tink." Meeghan grinned a bit wickedly.
Bastian giggled and started dancing them slowly to the music, just getting into the rhythm. "Would you agree that I wouldn't be wearing it for long, though?"
"For the shortest time in history, babe." Meeghan told her as she drew the leggy blond in just a little bit closer as they danced so that when Bastian moved the girl moved against her.
Bastian pressed her forehead to Meeghan's and sighed contently, before pulling back to look Meeghan in the eyes. "If I say something right now, do... you promise not to freak out?" She actually looked mildly terrified at the prospect that Meeghan would freak out.
"I don't think there is anything you can say to me that would have me freaking out, sweetie." Meeghan said trying to be reassuring to her girlfriend. While Bastian seemed nervous about saying what was on her mind, Meeghan didn't think it was anything negative.
"Good," Bastian murmured. "Because I kind of love you. And by 'kind of' I mean 'totally and completely'." It was the first time she had broken out the 'L' word, which was a terrifying prospect all on its own, but she couldn't help it but say it in that moment. "You just... make my world brighter by being in it."
Meeghan kissed her lovingly after hearing her declaration before saying anything in return. "You do the same for me, Bastian," Meeghan admitted, "and I'd really like you to seriously consider the proposal I'm about to make to you." Lifting a hand the singer brushed her fingertips tenderly along the blonde's cheek. "Move in with me." She proposed catching the girl's eyes again so that Bastian could within them that she was being quite serious.
"Move in with... you," Bastian blinked, almost certain that she either hadn't heard correctly, or that she was dreaming. She let that sink in for a moment, before smiling brilliantly, "Of course I will."
"I love you." Meeghan murmured softly drawing Bastian in close to kiss her once more. It was probably the first time she had said those three words to anyone, and without hesitation.
Bastian's heart felt infinitely warmer, hearing that. "Suddenly, staying for the costume contest doesn't feel very important," she breathed.
"It's up to you if you wanna stay or not." If truth be told, though, Meeghan would rather have Bastian back at her apartment, and all to her self, to show the blond beauty over and over again how much she loved her.
"Let's go home," Bastian breathed, giving Meeghan a cheeky little smile, finding that... Saying 'home' was as natural as breathing.
