Getting Pat the Hook Up
Who: Mere and Pat
Where: Avarice
When:: Oct. 31, Evening
Mere walked into Avarice wearing a short gingham dress with a red cape and hood on her back while carrying a picnic basket. Obviously, she had come to Avarice's Halloween bash dressed as Little Red Riding Hood. The music was blasting through the club, and kids were everywhere, dancing and running about. She walked over to the bar and ordered herself a drink, some tasty delicious beer.
Pat, meanwhile, was still sort of in a bad place. So excuse the fuck outta him if he didn't wear a costume. He just sat at the bar, slowly nursing a bottle of beer, so as not to get too ripped too quickly, after all.
When Mere spotted him, she figured he needed a friend to hang with. So, grabbing her drink, she walked over to where Pat was sitting, plopping down beside him. "I got vodka in my basket if you want some," she said with a grin. She had some crucifixes, too. Some vamps never listen to the 'we don't do shit on Halloween, you know.
"Maybe later. I'm not quite as depressed as I thought I'd be." Pat sighed, motioning for her to join him. "I'm devastated, obviously.. But I'm more pissed that she could just leave our child."
"As you fucking should be," Mere said. Sorry, but Mere thought that Patience had plenty of options that weren't running away. "We'll keep it for later then. Have you been able to trace her yet?"
"No. I tried, but... I'm not doing this. If she wants to come back, she will. She SWORE to me she'd never leave me. That everything we'd been through meant more than that to her. Now I realize..." Pat sighed, shaking his head. "I can't trust ANYONE."
"Fuck, Pat. No offense, but it almost sounds like you don't want her back," Mere said, taking a sip of her drink. "And you're sounding like Iris with the 'I can't trust anyone' shit. She was flipping her own shit here last night. Plus, you always got me and Jack. Can't fuck Jack, I know, but we'll both always be your friends."
"If she wants to come back... I love her. But I'm pissed enough to not go chasing her down. She lied to me. She walked out on her SON." Pat said, trying to explain his way of thinking. "And no. I can't 'fuck' you or Jack... But how can I ever trust anyone to not break my heart when I couldn't even trust HER?"
"Well, at least theoretically you could fuck me," Mere mentioned with a shrug. "I at least have the right parts." Yeah...anyways..."And I can't really give you an answer to that one, Pat. It ain't gonna happen tomorrow or anything."
"Considering you have a boyfriend and father who would likely botj want me dead? No. Theoretically, I couldn't." He laughed, draping an arm over Mere's shoulders.
Mere laughed. "If Jack was going to kill someone, then he'd of killed Bray a long time ago." She leaned against him and took another swig of her beer, finishing it off and grabbing the vodka out of her basket.
"If I didn't know better I'd think you were hitting on me, Mere." He said with a raised eyebrow. "You're one of my best friends, babe. I already ended up nailing ONE of my friends... Sooner or later that's gonna turn out badly."
Mere laughed. "I hit on everyone, Pat. What makes you think you'd be exempt from it?" she said, screwing off the top of the bottle and taking a swig, then offering it to Pat. "Then tell me who you nailed then."
"Ok, but this stay between us, and don't you DARE be a jackass about it." Gee, think he knew Mere well by now?
She grinned. "I swear to at least not scream the name and giggle like mad," she told him. "That's really the best I can do. So, you gonna tell me or not?"
"Fine. Baily Bale." He grumbled, knowing how hilariously vocal Mere tended to be about these things.
Mere actually had to BITE HER TONGUE to keep from shrieking Baily's name, but she had promised, after all. She shut her eyes for a second, took a deep breath, then opening them again and looked at him. "Damn Pat...you do realize she's got a guy, right?" Baily didn't SEEM the polyamorous type...
"Yeah. It... just sorta happened. I almost asked her out back before Patience was brought back. And... Ok, you know how this shit goes, Mere. Don't judge, please?" He sighed. "I'm already trying to meet people though. You know me... I'm miserable when I'm lonely. I met a really cool girl named Solana... and a shop owner named Helen."
Mere nodded. "Ive been guilty of shit myself...just making sure you knew." Mere shook her head. "Don't push it hard, though. Fuck around for a while. Don't jump into another relationship right away." While she didn't say it outloud, Mere thought that's kind of what happened with Iris. He jumped into that relationship RIGHT after Patience ran off.
"Yeah... I gotta talk to your dad. He said he had some kinda idea about something. I'm... almost afraid." He laughed, shaking his head.
"Wait wait. What???" Pat looked at her with a raised brow, as if he'd really do that. Oh god. Then it hit him. "...he already signed me up with a network for this didn't he."
"Well, he didn't say, particularly..." Mere said, trailing off for a moment. "But he probably did. Dude...don't run from this. You'll get some epic ass, it'll be awesome. You need to act like the mother fucking rock star you ARE."
"Fuuuuuck..." Pat sighed comically, shaking his head. "You. BOTH of you. Are horrible influences and the type of friends that get good people into bad trouble."
"We love you, you loser. We WANT you to have fun," she said. "Plus, I get to pick out your babes, Pat. Well, I get to help, anyway. I'll make sure no dogs get through."
"Well... Since you've both clearly decided this is gonna happen... Fine." He mumbled then, laughing. "I just hope this doesn't ruin my reputation."
"Dude, it'll cement your reputation," Mere said. "Just go with the flow and have fun. That's all we're asking. Besides, Ben said something about it being good publicity. Just...think of it that way!"
"BEN??? He knows about this too?" Pat yelped, thunking his head down on the table. He suddenly found himself wanting to talk to Baily again. Stat.
She laughed. "Like the owner of your label wouldn't find out about that quick," Mere pointed out. "Just chill and enjoy it. Seriously."
