Hilarity Ensues
Julian, dressed as a gothic Mad Hatter (to compliment Brandie's "Alice" costume that Maddie's already commented on), could barely contain his smile at just... BEING there with the youngest Bale girl, especially looking like she did. They sat in a booth, looking almost retardedly into each other's eyes in that sugary-sweet way that likely made both muns roll their eyes, as they sweetly held hands.
Brandie grinned at him from across the table as she squeezed his hand, leaning forward lightly and taking a sip of her coke. They really were retardedly in love with one another, in a way that was almost gag worthy?
Thank god Naomi walked up to save the day of the muns (and to keep them from barfing). Ben had asked her to keep Brandie and Julian from macking on one another, and that was what she was going to do. "Hey guys," she said, sitting down on Julian's side and squeezing in a little. "I LOVE your costumes, by the way. You two should totally win the costume contest for sure."
Julian almost blushed a little then, as face it: Naomi DID look pretty hot in her outfit. He stammered a bit, gesturing between the two. "Bran? Do you know Naomi from school? She's pretty much one of the few close friends I have."
Brandie smiled and nodded. OK, so Naomi was kind of intruding on their couple time, but being at a dance meant that they should socialize with other people as well, right? "Sure, we've run into each other a couple of times."
Naomi grinned. "Actually, her dad is my Watcher, too," she reminded Julian. "We've haven't exactly had the chance to hang or anything, but we've seen each other a couple of times and said hello."
"So we're all sort of connected. Cool." Julian said, taking Brandie's hand and bringing it to his lips with a sweet grin. Uh-oh. Looks like Naomi may have to try harder here...
Brandie nodded. She had known that her dad had a Slayer and that it was Naomi, but they hadn't exactly had the chance to hang much. Naomi stayed busy training with her dad, mostly. She giggled when Julian kissed her hand.
Naomi flagged a waitress and ordered a coke, making sure not to roll her eyes with all the sweetness going on. Ugh. This was going to be tough. "So, what are you guys doing hanging up here by yourselves, anyway? You're supposed to go and mingle at dances, right?" Give her something here!
"I... I don't really hang with many people, Naomi." He blushed, looking around. "Zane is busy 'working', and really... it's her and you two."
Brandie grinned. "Well, making new friends isn't exactly a terrible idea," she said, giving his hand another squeeze and running her foot slightly up his leg under the table. Still, she wasn't exactly rushing to get up from the table.
"You guys should totally meet my friend, Pheebz," Naomi said. "She's a slayer, too, so it's not like we'd have to make sure and watch what we say around her, you know?" When she got her coke, she took a sip of it.
Julian raised an eyebrow, wondering why Naomi seemed to be trying to get them away so bad. "Um... ok... so what did you want to do then?" He asked, giving Brandie an apologetic look that seemed to promise he'd get them alone EVENTUALLY.
Brandie didn't seem *too* worried about this. Besides, it wasn't like she had any real curfew to speak of. At least her parents understood that she could take care of herself. Plus, with their debauched selves, could they *really* pull a moral high ground much? "Well, I guess we can go mingle with a few people," she suggested.
Naomi knew that she had to be coming off incredibly weird, but she wasn't used to having to bust up couples, so she wasn't going to be GOOD at it! "We definitely could," she said, "but only if you guys want to. Don't want to force anything." Ugh, this wasn't WORKING!!!
