Making New Friends
Who: Meredith and Solana
Where: Avarice
When: Oct. 28, Evening
Bray was running a little late getting there tonight, but Mere wasn't worried about him. She knew that he could more than take care of himself, so she wasn't worried that something happened to him. She was just a TINY bit annoyed that he hadn't gotten here yet. Right now she was chilling at the bar over a cosmopolitan, swinging her legs from the bar stool while bobbing her head a little to the music. She sipped at her drink and also hummed along softly, checking her watch for the forth time in ten minutes, just wondering where the hell her boyfriend was and just what in the hell was taking him so damn long to get there for. Hell, there was a fifty/fifty shot that he was still asleep.
Solana had spent a good deal of time at the bar that week. She sat on a stool near the other woman. She was dressed in a simple tee shirt dress in black with a pink belt around her middle. A pair of tights that hit just below her knees. She tapped her toe in her ankle boots as she listened to the music. Her hair was black with the front of it the same pink of her belt. Her tri-colored eyes took in the club. Dark and light green surrounded a golden center circle. Lots of people noticed her eyes and always asked where she got such awesome contacts, they'd probably freak out if they knew that they were real.
Mere couldn't help but notice the good looking woman beside her. She especially loved the hair on her. "I love your hair," she said, leaning over so the other girl could hear her.
Solana looked over at the woman and smiled. "Thanks," she said smiling at the woman. "I change it frequently." she said puffing her bangs out of her face with a breath of air. Her eyes met the other woman's eyes.
Mere caught her gaze. "Lovely eyes, too," she said, but she didn't follow with asking if she wore contacts. She knew so many people around LA that were part demon, vampire, or whatever that it was almost second nature to assume supernatural over mundane explanations now.
She smiled at her. "thank you. You're rather lovely too," she said with a glance. She watched her for a moment and looking around.
"Welcome," Mere said with a smirk. "So, got a name, or am I just going to have to call you 'Eyes' for the evening?"
She laughed softly. "you can call me Solana." she said with a smile. "and what am I to call you?"
Mere grinned. "Mere Delany," she said to the other girl. She offered the girl her hand. "And may I add it's a pleasure to meet you?"
Solana took the other woman's hand and shook it gently, but still firmly, she wasn't the type to have a limp wristed hand shake. "it is a pleasure to meet you as well," she said with a smile.
Mere happened to like a woman with a firm handshake. Meant they weren't lightweights. Mere's was actually decently strong as well. Playing guitar for years will give your decent hand strength, though. "So, are you new in town or have I just been missing you at Avarice every night of my life?"
"I've been in LA for a while. But I don't come here every week..." she said with a shrug. "So you haven't missed me here every night of your life." she said smiling. "But I do come here sometimes." she said with a shrug. "I can blend in with everyone else whenever I want to." she said looking around. "Do you come here often?"
"Makes me sad that I haven't seen you before," Mere said playfully. "I'm usually hear at least a couple of nights a week when I'm not working."
She smiled at the woman. "No worries. You'll know what to look for next time," she said the corner of her mouth quirking up further. She leaned against the bar, her elbow resting on it. "And I'll know who to keep my eyes peeled for." she added.
"I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for you," Mere said with a grin on her face. A gorgeous colorful haired girl at Avarice? Damn skippy Mere would be on the lookout for her!
Solana smiled as she looked at the woman. "You're sweet..." she said as she looked around. She looked over at the dark haired girl and couldn't help the soft flush to her cheeks.
Mere chuckled. "Well, I try, anyway," she said to the other woman, giving her a slight grin. "So, can I buy you a drink?"
"Sure, that would be nice." she said as she looked at the other woman. "I like screw drivers best..." she said with a smile.
Mere flagged the bartender. "Can my friend here get a screw driver?"
Solana smiled as her new friend ordered her a drink. "Thank you..." she said looking at her.
