On The Run Who: Janna and Jaycen, and then Skylar (Open to Continuation) Where: Streets of L.A. When: Evening - Saturday, October 23
Janna stopped when they raced into yet another alleyway somewhere in the vast city of Los Angeles. "I need.... to rest." The young woman panted heavily slightly bent at the waist with hands on her thighs giving a concerned glance up to her younger brother. They had arrived in L.A. less then twelve hours ago and already they discovered the two hunters trailing them found their location. It wasn't that Janna was weak or anywhere near a frail girl. She had more endurance then any of her peers had, it was just Jaycen seemed to be equipped physically with more endurance then she. It was nearing the rise of the full moon and Janna knew they needed to hole up somewhere until the moon descended for the night. That or finally make contact with the alpha pack that ran the city, which seemed unlikely as they themselves would probably be holed up somewhere until the passing of the full moon. Janna didn't think they'd be out that night traveling the city streets in packs. That was too risky an action to take.
"Come on, Jan..." Jaycen panted, trying to catch his breath, "we're almost there... that club they run isn't far from here..." Jaycen was worried, obviously, about his sisters welfare, knowing that she was being hunted...
"You go ahead," Janna started as she slowly straightened up, "I think we lost them. I should be okay til you bring them back here." The dark haired she-wolf added while trying to keep an ear trained to the mouth of the alleyway for any sounds that might indicate they were still being closely tracked.
"Right." Jaycen said with a sarcastic snort. "Leave you here. So you can get attacked or something while you're tired. Please." He sighed, trying not to show just how frightened he really was.
"Okay. Give me a few seconds." Janna relented, though she really hadn't wanted to. She'd rather her brother go on ahead to the club that was pack run, but that was an argument not to be had at that moment. Suddenly her eyes snapped to the entrance of the alley. The dark haired were was then shoving at Jaycen to move deeper into the depths of the alley with one word whispered. "Hunters."
"Oh. Fantastic." Jaycen grumbled, taking his sister's hand and starting to pull her toward him. "We're almost there. Nobody will try to hurt you there..."
As the pair moved into the darkened depths a light shined into the mouth of the alley briefly illuminating the siblings. "There." A masculine voice called out just seconds before a gunshot cracked the semi quiet. The bullet clipped Janna in the side before embedding itself in the brick wall just off to the side as the duo tried fleeing further into the alley.
Skylar had been on her way into Avarice when she heard a shot from outside by the club. LA was not the *best* city in the world, but a shot so near a major club was still strange. Plus, she was still a Slayer, even if she wasn't as active in the Slayer community as any of the others. Let them do the same stuff that she does (be a mother and wife, help run a club, be in a band) and then go out and patrol every damn night and see how long they do it.
Anyways, when she heard the shot, she locked her car do and started to head toward the alley that she was sure she had heard it come from.
A second shot had gone off by that time, but that one? Jaycen, in all his 'totally human' glory, had jumped in front of the bullet to save his sister, the bullet lodging itself in his right shoulder. With a loud cry, he hit the ground in pain.
Janna screamed out when Jaycen placed himself in front of her as sort of shield when the second shot rang out. Though when she moved to grab for her brother with the intent of dragging him further into the alley and out of harms way a strange sensation came over her. With the moon now high in the sky Janna felt herself start to go into a sudden transition, and as her clothing started to tear at the seams a third shot rang out with the bullet hitting her in the thigh. Howling out in pain Janna soon found herself no longer in human form, but rather that of a white wolf. With a painful limp the wolf moved to stand guard over Jaycen with a low growl just as the two hunters started approaching them. Both with guns drawn.
Lucky for them Skylar was actually doing her Slayer duty for once. She ran in just as the two hunters were approaching them, spinning and roundhouse kicking the first one, sending him flying into the wall as he dropped his weapon, which Skylar managed to scoop up before the other hunter could turn and try to aim at her. As she locked the shotgun on the other hunter, she said to him, "I suggest you leave with your buddy before I shoot the both of you and make the world forget your existence."
Normally, Jaycen would be freaking out, worried for his sister's health. But right now? He was more concerned with the HOLE IN HIS FUCKING SHOULDER. He lay there, tears streaming down his cheeks, clutching it tightly as blood run rapidly down his fingers...
Sensing her brother's emotions Janna stood protectively over her injured brother. A protective stance that didn't last long as the wolf felt the repercussions of being hit with a silver bullet. Weakened, Janna collapsed beside Jaycen, her breathing swallow and pained.
"You shouldn't have interfered, girlie." The hunter left standing directed at Skylar keeping his own gun trained on the girl. "I know your face." He threatened next not taking kindly to stripped of a large chunk of cash that would've been coming his way had he succeeded in collect the pelt of the white wolf. "We'll be seeing you." He warned moving to help his fellow hunter up to move them both around the girl and out of the alley all the while keeping his eyes on Skylar.
Skylar rolled her eyes at the hunter. "Please, you apparently don't know who you're fucking with. No one fucks with a Bale in this town," she said with a slight smirk, not taking the gun off of the hunter until he and his friend were gone.
When they were gone, her expression turned serious and she bent down to check on the wolf and kid in the alley. "We need to get you two out of here quick before they try to come back and cause more trouble." She didn't sound like she thought that they could really harm any of them. She just didn't want to deal with hunters again.
"D-dont worry about m-me..." Jaycen mumbled, looking at Skylar pleadingly. "My sister's the important one. She n-needs your family. She's in danger...
The white wolf whimpered hearing the worry within her brother's voice. The wolf's head lifted slowly with a pained look within it's eyes before her head found home on Jaycen's leg. With the effects of the silver bullet slowly working its way through her body, Janna wasn't sure she'd survive the night, but at least senses were telling her that Jaycen had a better then average chance at that.
Skylar shook her head toward the boy. "Nope, you're both pretty damn important in my eyes," she said. She squatted down and looked at the wolf for a second. "Can you walk or do you need help getting to the club?" she asked. She could carry Jaycen, but she wasn't sure if she could carry them both. "I can call Ben if you can't and get him down here to help."
