Patience Snaps
Who: Patience and Iris
Where: Iris and Jeremy's House
When: Oct. 28th, Evening
Iris was sitting at home reading, actually. She had spent much of the evening reading through one of Jeremy's books, something on Watcher/Slayer history. It was something that she was kind of mulling back and forth through her head. They weren't exactly lacking in Watchers right now, but being a Watcher would allow her to return to her love, teaching, without having to go through the hassle of paperwork that it would take for her to teach at a regular school, plus the fear that she would run into an old coworker bothered her greatly. However, Iris had no idea of the shit storm that was coming her way in the form of someone that was SUPPOSED to basically be her best friend.
Patience was, in a word? PISSED. She'd gone out that afternoon (dressed stunningly, as always, in hip-hugging blue jeans and a white camisole) on a rare errand and had overheard something that made her see RED. Of course, if she'd been running on logic, she'd KNOW that Iris would NEVER go behind her with Pat.
Clearly, logic went out the window. She POUNDED on Iris' front door, pure seething RAGE in her eyes. "It's Patience!"
Iris nearly jumped out of her skin when Patience knocked on the door. Of course, not knowing what was up, she rushed to the door and opened it. "Is everything alright?"
"Not exactly," Patience replied, and without so much as a 'how do you do?' she LUNGED at Iris, wrapping her slender fingers around the other woman's neck as her fangs elongated.
Iris shrieked as she did so, mentally kicking herself for letting Jeremy go grocery shopping instead of doing it herself today. Of course, everyone seemed to forget that Iris had a pretty nifty trick up her sleeve. By what would look to be an invisible force, suddenly Patience's fingers were pried (painfully, if she fought it) off Iris's neck and Patience was pinned to the ceiling. "You better explain yourself FAST," Iris said, looking up at Patience as she tried to catch her breath. "Or you're not coming down until the cops get here." Iris was feeling, in a word, BETRAYED right now. Apparently she couldn't trust ANYONE here!
Patience SHRIEKED when her fingers were pried (as yes, she tried to fight against Iris) and even though she was winded from hitting the ceiling, she snarled: "Let. Me. Down."
Iris shook her head. "Like hell," she said. "I can actually keep you there all day, and until you EXPLAIN yourself, I intend to do just that." She sighed. "Now what the hell is going on? I'm your friend, Patience. What the hell are you on that has you attacking your own friends? Skylar I got, but why ME?"
Patience fought against Iris, thrashing about on the ceiling, growling in frustration. "Pat. You took Pat from me," she explained. Saying it out loud, it seemed kind of stupid, huh? Patience hadn't cottoned in to that yet, though. She was working on pure, unadulterated rage right now. The idea of ANY woman touching her Pat? Without permission? Was Not On.
Iris sighed and rolled her eyes. This shit again? "Patience. I think of you as my best friend. Pat once cheated on me long term with Skylar, and I eventually died because one night I was out drinking over being upset about a whore fucking the man who was my husband and a vampire used me as an example of what he could do. Do you REALLY think I would put someone else through that kind of hell?" Goddamn, she may have a point there. "Now pull your head out of your demon ass and think about that for a second."
Patience growled, slamming her head back against the ceiling, but after a moment, she processed what Iris had said and seemed to calm visibly. Of course, she looked absolutely MORTIFIED now. "Let me down," she said again, this time with defeat in her voice.
"You try that shit again and I'll put you right back up there," Iris said, slowly letting her down this time, since Patience was actually sounding like herself this time as well. "Now what the fuck, may I ask?"
Landing on her feet, Patience wobbled slightly, starting to feel absolutely sick to her stomach. "I, uh... Nothing. It was nothing, Iris. I'm sorry," she added, not even daring to look the other woman in the eyes before turning to leave.
Iris made a move to stop her, but then just let her go, completely confused as to just what in the hell was going on.
