Who: Solana & Patrick
Where: Avarice
When: Oct. 26, Evening
In what was becoming a more frequent occurrence, Pat was sitting alone at the bar in Avarice, nursing a bottle of beer. For someone who finally had a CD out, and was becoming more and more famous... he certainly didn't look happy. Could it be because of Patience's recent... changes? Since the woman had taken in demon's blood in order to save her life during childbirth, the changes in her had been more than just physical. She'd been erratic in her moods, and spending more time alone. Which left Pat feeling a bit depressed, sitting there in a pair of torn-up jeans and an old Metallica t-shirt.
Solana had noticed the man from the band sitting at the bar alone. She had seen him sing many times and had loved it. She walked over to him and put her hand on the stool next to him. "Is this seat taken?" she asked arching a brow.
He looked over at the girl, and felt an eyebrow raise. Certainly an attractive thing, wasn't she? He gestured with a somewhat forced smile to the empty seat next to him. "Can't say it is, no..."
She cocked her head to the side and smiled. "Do you mind me sitting here?" she asked. She didn't like to make people uncomfortable. "Cause I don't mind hunting for another chair, but you look like you are kinda lonely..."
"No, I don't mind at all. I guess... I guess I *am* sort of lonely." He admitted with a small, lopsided smirk, still kind of wondering how exactly he got to this point.
She slid up onto the stool, and ordered herself a screwdriver. She really liked the taste of orange juice better than alcohol. She cocked her head to the side. "I've been told that I'm a really good listener..." she said with a smile.
He couldn't help it... he actually laughed a little there, shaking his head. "You wouldn't possibly believe the things going on in my life if I *told* you. So just... for now, I'll just introduce myself. I'm Pat."
She looked at him and shrugged. "I'm sure that I've probably heard weirder." she said with a small laugh. "But I'm Solana," she said holding her hand out to him.
"Solana." He repeated. "Cool name. " He took her hand, actually kissing it before releasing it. So he was flirting. What of it? He was in love with his wife, but he could still flirt with beautiful women, ok? "You come here a lot? And... I swear that wasn't meant to sound like a cheap pick-up line."
She smiled as he watched him kiss her hand. "Thank you... Its a family name..." she said nodding her head. "yeah I come here sometimes to hear your band play actually." she said with a small laugh.
"Oh, you're a fan? Awesome..." He said, looking into her eyes and noticing that, despite the odd hair, piercings, and tattoos... the girl had an oddly... innocent look to her. "Next time you're at a show, I'll have to find you, introduce you to the rest of the band."
She smiled and nodded. "Yeah a fan..." she said with a small laugh. "That would be pretty amazing actually. Like very amazing." she said and her face scrunched up. "Yeah I sound like an idiot." she said shaking her head before she took a drink out of her glass.
"No way. You sound kind of adorable, actually." He admitted with a little chuckle, looking around. "Are you seriously here alone?" He asked, not really trying to flirt... just finding it hard to believe a girl so cute wasn't with someone.
She arched her brow and nodded. "Yeah I'm here alone... I tend to be here alone." she said looking around. She shrugged. "None of my friends really wanted to come, so no big, I go out by myself a lot." she said as she trailed her finger over the top rim of her glass.
"Well... anytime I'm here, feel free to come over. Hell, I'd offer to get you a drink, but..." He gestured with a chuckle to the glass she was holding.
She smiled at him. "No problem." she said with a laugh. "You probably don't want to say that... cause you haven't seen me how weird as I am." she said with a small laugh.
"Weird is good." Pat replied with a smirk. "Trust me... some of my friends are weird as HELL." As anyone who knows Gwen would attest to. "I mean, seriously... what good is 'normal'?"
She couldn't help but smile at that. "Well then sure... I'll bother you whenever I see you." she said with a small laugh. "But don't ever say that I didn't warn you." she said with a smile.
"Somehow... I cant even PICTURE a scenario in which you'd be bothering me." He said, finding himself looking into her eyes again, without really thinking about it.
She smiled as she scrunched her nose. "Well aren't you just sweet." she said smiling. She was used to people being drawn to her, because of her fairy blood or maybe it was just her personality. "So... are you just lonesome or are you lonesome for a reason?" she asked. She could be a little persistent whenever she wanted to be.
"My... my wife's been really... not herself lately. Starting fights with people, being overly aggressive..." ok, and being half-freakin'-DEMON now, but like he was gonna say that. "And she's been spending less and less time with ME."
She frowned softly and put her hand on his hand. Her touch was gentle. "I'm sorry..." she said softly. Sympathy was clear in her eyes. Not pity, but sympathy. She felt bad for him. "As your wife... she should want to spend time with you... That's part of why relationships work..." she said pursing her lips.
"Yeah. That's... what terrifies me." He admitted, as it felt good just to vent. "She's... my everything. What am I without her?"
She gave his hand a gentle squeeze. "You're you without her..." she said shrugging. "Its not healthy to lose yourself so much in someone that you can't function without them..." she said softly.
"You know... I have a feeling I'm gonna be venting to you a lot." He admitted with a grin. "You're right... you ARE a good listener." Could he tell how attracted to him she was? Normally, he'd have noticed it easily... but right now he was too wrapped up in his own plight.
She smiled as she looked at him and shrugged. "Just glad to make a new friend..." she said as she watched him. His grin made her smile spread wider across her lips. "I don't mind listening... especially when it helps..."
