Brother/Sister Bonding
Who: Brandie and Bray
Where: Bale Estate
When: Saturday Afternoon
Brandie was waiting at home, reading a book for her English class, and waiting for her brother to show up. He had given her a call earlier asking if she wanted to hang out for the day, and, of course, she agreed. She was sure that he had to shower the stench of 'female' off of him before he came over, for which she was eternally grateful, so she was more than happy to wait while he got ready and drove over. God, imagine him coming over JUST waking up after a night of sex. THAT would be disgusting for her. Not like she hadn't had to be around him before while he was like that, but that didn't make it any less gross, that was for sure.
Just waltzing right into the house, clad in baggy torn jeans and a tight black Gravedancer t-shirt, big cheesy grin on his face. "Yo! Bran! Where's my baby sister?"
"I'm in the living room!" she shouted across the house. She marked her place in her book and started running toward her brother to meet him.
As she came running to him, he scooped her up into his arms, giving her a huge bear hug. "I missed you, kiddo. Shame I graduated last year, I'd love to see how you're farin' in high school. I gotta whoop anybody's ass for ya yet?"
She shook her head. "Nope, nobody's been messing with me," she said with a grin. Hell, she was a Bale. Even if she was dating someone who was...less than popular...they weren't going to mess with her at ALL. They knew her family and Bray.
"Good. Making any friends yet?" He checked, as he knew Brandie had a tendency to get shy and bashful around people she didn't know...
"I think I'm doing pretty well," she said with a smile. She wasn't going to gush to her brother about having a boyfriend, but she was doing good. "Bethany and I are hanging out a lot." While, where she was from, Bethany was way older than her, here they were only two years apart, which was perfect for them!
"Beth's a good kid." Brayden nodded, silently wondering if Brandie could possibly pick a nerdier girl to pal around with. "So. I'm thinkin' we go out, get some lunch, hit a few stores, and catch up."
She nodded, grabbing her shoes and sliding them on. Lovely thing about LA: you could wear flip flops year around in during the day. "You're always welcome to introduce me to more people. I'm still getting used to this place, and you've been here WAY longer than I have."
"Shiiiit. I wouldn't WANT you to meet half the people I hang out with. Mostly trashy, slutty women." Then, without missing a beat, "god I love my friends..."
She shook her head. "Well, I know at least your roommate Mac is someone that I can meet," she pointed out. She knew that he saw Mac as kind of an extra sibling. "Mere's not too bad, at least when you get her away from YOU,' she teased.
"Mac is awesome. I'd actually like you guys to meet." He corrected himself with a laugh. "And I love Meredith with all my heart, but she's already tried to fuck enough people in our family. No way am I letting her near you."
"She's giving me guitar lessons, so you're a little late there," Brandie pointed out with a grin. "I think she sees me as like, a little sister or something though."
"Thank CHRIST." Bray said with an audible 'whew'. "I love her to death, but between me, Dad, Aunt Lydia... woman's blazin' a PATH through this family."
"EW...how can you handle being with someone who dated DAD?" The epic question, finally put forth into words by Brandie.
"She's the most amazing girl EVER, Bran." He tried to explain, in his own way. "If mom wasn't so epic-awesome, I'd say Dad was a goddamn IDIOT for letting her go..."
"She must be to get past something like that." At least she wasn't a vamp here, however that worked. Brandie didn't get it. Maybe she'd ask Julian about that. "I'm glad that you found someone that makes you happy beyond your pants."
"Mere's pretty much the perfect girlfriend, Bran. She;s just LIKE me, in so many ways it's kind of funny. Hell... sometimes I don't know which of us flirts with more girls..." He snickered, giving a 'what're ya gonna do?' shrug.
Brandie shook her head. "Like I said, whatever makes you happy," she finally told him with a shrug. "Now, you're supposed to take me out to eat. We need to get going or it's going to turn into like, a late dinner or something like that."
"Yeah, yeah..." He grumbled, ushering her toward the door. "Anywhere ya want, kid. Anywhere ya want."
