Final Fight
Who: Buffy and War
Where: Cemetery
When: Early Sunday, October 10th
If there was one thing that Zee really liked about her gig as War, it was the ability to incite violence and insanity in those that chose to stay near her for an extended period of time. She didn't have to say anything to them (although she did, because frankly, she didn't have an 'off' switch) and there would be riots and other irrational violent acts. She grinned to herself as she walked through the cemetery, knowing that another riot wasn't happening too far away, and sing-songed, "Sllllaaaayer. Pretty, pretty Sllllaaaaayer. I know you've been looking for me! Come out to plllllaaaaaay!"
... Did she just reference 'The Warriors'? Interesting. Zee cackled loudly as she skipped from gravestone-to-gravestone, dressed in combat boots, tight denim jeans and a leather vest, her eyes heavy with black mascara.
After taking a day or two to reenergize (and eat and be normal), Buffy was feeling refreshed and normal enough to go back on what she had figured would be a semi-normal patrol. However, even semi-normal went out the window when she heard a familiar voice screeching through the graveyard.
"Jesus tapdancing Christ you are annoying," Buffy said, coming from behind her actually. She immediately launched into a roundhouse kick, kicking War in the back of the head.
Zee somehow managed not to land on her face, instead turning the forward motion into a tuck-roll and quickly bounced up to her feet, rubbing the back of her head and shaking out the dizzies as she quickly turned to face Buffy. "That's cheating!" Oh, for the love of...
"That would require me to care about things like cheating with the likes of you," Buffy pointed out, already running forth with a series of punches to Zee's abdomen, apparently not wanting to give the woman much of a breather.
Zee managed to block a few of the last punches, quickly backing away from Buffy with a look of utter surprise. "You white-hats all talk the same," she muttered, shaking out her limbs briefly, before attacking Buffy with her own flurry of punches, her face set in determination.
Buffy tried to block a few of the punches, but several of them managed to get through, all but knocking the wind out of her. Still, she wasn't one to back down from a fight just because she was hurting. Pulling a knife that she had in a sheath on her belt, she whipped it out and slashed at Zee's arms.
Zee yelped when the knife connected with her bare skin, opening a fresh, stinging wound. She grabbed Buffy's forearm, stepping around the blade and forward, head-butting the Slayer with an almost crushing force.
Even with the massively painful headbutt, Buffy couldn't help but smile a little at the yelp Zee had let out from the slice. Even though she was feeling dizzy from it, she STILL managed to twist her arm and push her knife forward in an effort to stab Zee in the back.
Feeling Buffy's arm twist, Zee snarled and tightened her grip on Buffy's forearm before winding out of close quarters and whipping a fist to the back of the Slayers head.
Buffy managed to duck the fist, giving her arm one final jerk and finally getting Zee's grip to release so that she could finally pull away from the Horsewoman.
Zee cackled loudly then. This was the most fun that she'd had in a LONG time. "Got a present for ya," she said breathlessly, pulling out her own knife with a snarl. "If you're really good, I'll give it to you."
"Well, I'll add it to my collection of knives after I wipe the ground with you," Buffy said with a smirk.
Letting out an exasperated sigh, Zee had finally had enough of playing around. Her jaw set in frustration; she threw a quick jab at Buffy with her free hand.
Buffy dodged. "Aw, someone's testy when things don't go her way, isn't she?" After dodging, she spun on her back heel, attempting to land a kick at Zee's jaw.
It connected, sending Zee flying back and landing on the ground, RIGHT on her ass. "Someone's cocky when they think they've got the upper hand," she growled, quick to get up to her feet.
Instead of coming up with another witty retort, Buffy instead just lunged forward just as Zee was coming to her feet, thrusting her knife forward and aiming for Zee's abdomen.
The blade pierced through Zee's leather vest and buried to the hilt in her stomach. She yelled out then, dropping her own weapon as she held onto Buffy, trying to steady herself as blood started to form around the knife. "Well, shit..." she muttered, her body starting to droop.
Thinking quickly, Buffy kicked Zee's knife away, waiting a second before yanking her own knife out of Zee's stomach, pulling away and letting the other woman fall to the ground.
Zee fell to her knees and, looking up at Buffy, she actually SMILED. It was menacing, rather than pleasant. The kind of smile that gave you a chill if you saw it... and then, she collapsed, face forward onto the grass. She had no more smart ass comments to make.
Knowing that she had gotten a lucky shot before, Buffy actually nudged Zee with her foot to see if what had happened had really happened, half expecting the woman to jump back up and try to tear her head off.
Unfortunately, this wasn't a horror movie. Zee wasn't going to get back up. Which was a shame, really. She'd prepared for this fight, however, and knew that there was a chance that she would lose...
