Going A Thousand Miles For A Slayer Who: Mai and Selinda Where: A Flat in London When: 9 am London time. Saturday, October 9
The flight to London had been long and tedious, but even with the little bit of shut eye she had been able to catch, Mai wasn't exactly at her best when a taxi dropped her off in front of the flat Selinda Todd was sharing with her present Watcher. But the woman did her best to conceal that when she climbed the steps to the landing and rang the bell. Arrangements had been made prior to her arrival to the city of London, and Mai was hoping all would go smoothly. Pick up her new charge and catch a return flight back to the states with no one being the wiser to her real reason behind having requested a specific Slayer to be assigned to her.
Selinda moved to answer the door, as she'd seen the woman walking to the door when she'd looked out the window. The tiny blond honestly was starting to wonder what was wrong with her... why she was in such need of different training from the others. Poor thing had no real clue about just how... odd she was, compared to the others. Clad in a long pink dress and white baggy buttoned-down blouse, the wide-eyed little thing opened the door, and actually did a little twirl.
"Youuuuu must be my new watcher, I suspect." Her voice was dreamy, almost like someone who was heavily medicated. "MY name is Selinda, and its a PLEASURE to meet you." She said, all smiles in spite of her inner fears.
"Hello, Selinda. I'm Mai Matthews and it is indeed a pleasure to meet you." The older woman smiled to the young blond who held a slight resemblance to her older sister. "And you suspect correctly. And since you seem to have been expecting me I'm going to assume that you're already packed."
"Yes, ma'am. I've packed and am QUITE excited to get back home." Her smile was adorable, yet almost as... dreamy as her voice. "While I've been quite happy here, what with the shadows not chasing me as much... I rather miss my sister. I fear without me, she might be a bit of a mopey mess."
"Well, since neither of us wish your sister to be a mopey mess, we better get you back to Los Angeles to save her from such a dreaded fate." Mai smiled to the girl. "Why don't you go collect your bags and take them out to the taxi while I have a few words with your current Watcher." Mai suggested to the soft spoken blond.
"I will certainly do that!" The girl beamed brightly with another little twirl. "now perhaps the shadows won't chase me at ALL..." Adorably, the little blond leaned over and hugged Mai tightly before grabbing her two suitcases and heading to the car.
Mai couldn't help smiling at the girl with affection when she hugged Selinda back. Once the blond slayer had taken her bags out to the taxi, Mai found the Watcher who had been taking care of the girl. After having a few words with the other woman, and the gathering of a little bit of information, Mai wished the woman well before heading out after her new charge.
"Ready to get back home where you belong?" Asking even though she knew what Selinda's response would be.
"I missed home TERRIBLY... I would probably miss my friends if I had them." She said with no trace of sarcasm. "If I had a pet I suspect I would miss it as well. I miss the other girls, even though they usually stayed away from me..."
"Well, you won't have to be missing anyone anymore, Sweetie." Mai told her with a light running of her hand over the blonde's hair in a comforting way. Once Selinda's bags were placed in the trunk of the cab, Mai opened to door for the girl to get in.
