OMG! Bethany's Bestie is Here!
Who: Nichelle and Bethany
Where: Regan High
When: Thursday Afternoon - September 30
With a smug grin and crossing of her arms over her chest Nichelle leaned back against a locker as she watched the red head across the hall from her fiddle with her locker a moment before she got it open. Nichelle just wished she could catch the expression on the red haired teens face when she saw the little present she left for the girl. Maybe it was because of what she was, but whatever the reason might be, Shally had a thing for anything panther-shaped. She had a nice little collection of panther related things in her room at the family's new house. Well, that was minus the cute little black panther figure placed in one Bethany Bale's locker.
Bethany was, ridiculously enough, humming happily to herself as she opened her locker to get her books for the evening (Hey. She liked school, ok? STFU). When she suddenly saw the small panther, she cut off her humming with an adorable squeak, and muttered, to herself, "...Shally?"
Nichelle hadn't needed to hear that all familiar squeak to know her little gift had been spotted, the language of bethany's body spoke volumes to the werepanther. It all had Shally grinning softly as she took that first step across the hall toward her best friend ever. "Bethany." She sing-songed while making her approach.
"Oh my GAWWWWD!" Beth practically squealed, jumping up and down cutely before practically THROWING herself into the arms of her bestest friend. "How did.. I mean.. when did you get here? And why didn't you tell me you were moving here???"
"Hey there, B-Squeak." Shally giggled as she caught her dearest of friends in her arms when Bethany literally threw herself at the teen werepanther. This was definitely worth having kept her moving to L.A. a secret from the red head. "Cause I wanted to surprise you, ya goof." Shally grinned.
"You have NO idea how glad I am to see you!" Bethany squealed happily. "Other than my cousin, I have like NO friends yet, and the one I tried to make, I *think* she kinda thinks I'm a crazy freak now..." She frowned, thinking of Zane.
"I guess I moved here at the right time. You need more then just a cousin to hang out with." Nichelle informed her. "And why would this girl you tried to make friends with think you're a little loopy?"
"Well..." Beth lowered her voice, those big eyes looking cutely conspiratorial, "I kinda found out WHY I was getting those cool powers right before I left to come here. And she's the SAME WAY. But I don't think I explained it well, and I think she thinks I'm a bit of a loon now."
"Well, you are a bit of a loon, B. Bale." The chestnut haired werepanther said playfully to her friend. "It's one of your more adorable traits." It was one of the things Nichelle liked about Bethany. She was quirky.
"I'll tell you more about... that... later. When nobody can hear us. But I'm SO glad you're here! I was so afraid that you'd be mad that I left so quickly... I dunno if anyone told you WHY I left, but... well... it's mostly cuz it ends up my parents are a couple of... of..." Uh-oh. Bethany was about to say something HORRID. "..of BUTTHEADS." Facepalm.
"You are a loon." Nichelle giggled softly and hugged her. Whenever she referred to Bethany as such it was always in an affectionate way. "Anyway. This weekend we are going to get together at your place or mine for a girls night like we used to have back in Maine." And Shally wasn't about to take no for an answer as they had way too much catching up to do on each others lives.
"Oh, definitely! My..." she tried to think of the right way to describe Isabella right now, "my foster mom is AWESOME. She'll have no problem with you coming over!" Oh, how Brandie would tease her if she saw how giggly and excited she was right now...
"Awesome! And I'll bring the treats just so long as you make sure we have enough hot chocolate and marshmallows to last the night." Shally probably loved hot chocolate just as much, if not more, then Bethany. It used to get them through more then one night at the boarding school they attended together.
"Hah! Ms. Delallo ALWAYS makes sure I have plenty. I think Bronte told her she'd maim her or something if I didn't have plenty of it around at all times." Yeah, so maybe Bronte knew what a comforting thing hot chocolate was to her. What of it?
"Isn't she the one that runs a club here in L.A." Because yeah, that place would definitely need to be hit, and in the very near future. Not that Nichelle was Ms. Clubber girl, but she did like to get out to them once in a while and have some fun.
"That's her! She and her, well... soon-to-be husband run it together. A lot of people are intimidated by her, but... she's AWESOME." Yeah, well... Beth? You're the only one who EVER got to see the sweet, adorable side of Bronte. So shut up.
"I've really got to meet Her Awesomeness and we definitely have to hit the club sometime." This hadn't been the first time Bethany had talked of her cousin, Bronte. In fact Nichelle probably knew members of her bestest friend's family almost was well as she knew her own. And she hadn't even met any of the Bales.
"Trust me. Next couple of weeks we'll go spend a weekend in Vegas. Bronte owns a hotel there, and she told me ANYTIME I wanna visit, we can go. She runs the version of Avarice that's there. She and her brothers technically OWN both of them, but the one here is mostly run by my cousin Ben." Again, as has been said... this is why people don't generally ask Bethany to explain things to anyone.
Where some people might find it annoying, Nichelle found it an adorable part of Bethany. "That's going to take some convincing to allow my folks to let me go to a place like Vegas. You know how hard it was to get them to let me attend Regan high instead of some private institution. We might have to double team em." Shally grinned mischievously to her BFF.
"True. Maybe if they meet Ms. Delallo. She's all strict and Drill-Sergeant-Like to most people, so they might feel safe if she goes with us." One thing about Bethany: girl was quick with ideas.
"Come on then," Nichelle grabbed her friend by the hand, "we have much plotting and planning to do. And I know just the place to do it." The werepanther giving the Slayer a wicked little grin. "Haven't been in L.A. all that long, but long enough to have found the best coffee place the city seems to have." Shally went on as she started leading Bethany toward the exiting doors of the school.
