They Had to Get to Know Each Other SOMEtime
Who: Juliet and Patience
Where: Pat and Patience's' home
When: Tuesday, September 28th
Ever since she'd been fired from Avarice, Patience spent her time at home, either taking care of baby Cash or training it up with Paige. Pat had been so worried about her mental state lately that he spent time home more often than not. She felt it was sweet… but also mildly insulting at the same time. She came close to physically forcing him downstairs to the recording studio, practically yelling at him to do so, since it felt like everyone was tiptoeing around her.
With Cash asleep in his room and Pat downstairs, she started singing to herself while she cleaned. A year ago she would have said that she didn't have a singing voice to save herself, but she was confident in her singing now… and by God, she actually sounded GOOD, and since she had so much free time recently, she'd been dabbling with song writing herself, one song of which she was singing to herself, believe it or not:
...I want to hold you close
Skin pressed against me tight
Lie still, close your eyes girl
So lovely, it feels so right
I want to hold you close
Soft breath, beating heart
As I whisper in your ear
"I wanna fucking tear you apart"
Pulling the red Ranger to a stop along the curb in front of the McConnell house, Juliet killed the engine and climbed out of the vehicle to make the short sprint to the front door clad in a form fitting black t-shirt with the name of her brother's band scrawled across the chest and a pair of black jeans. Reaching the door Jules deliberately pounded a fist on the solid structure while calling out, quite loudly, for her brother. "Patsie, open up!"
Ugh. Patience rolled her eyes at the yelling, glad that the baby wasn't easily stirred (seriously, she really DID worry that they'd accidentally swapped babies at the hospital), before dashing over to the front door and opening it. She, herself, was clad in tight faded blue jeans and a white camisole, her red hair tied back in a haphazard ponytail. "Shh. No disturbing the boys, woman. Seriously. I'll cut you."
"Chill babe. They'll barely know I'm here." Juliet smirked to her sister-in-law as she sidled past the red head into the house. "I'm surprised though that Pat's napping it at such an early hour of the afternoon."
"Ppft," Patience replied as she shut the door. "He's been hovering lately, so I banished him downstairs. I love Pat, but honestly? There are times when I want to murder him. Maliciously." She realized then that Juliet may not be used to her sense of humor and added: "I say it out of love."
"A worried Patsie is a hovering one." Juliet commented plopping herself down on the sofa. "Though if it were me I would've ban him from the house for a day rather then the basement." The younger McConnell added with a slight shrug of her shoulders.
"So, other then feeling smothered by my adorable brother, how have you been Patience?" Jules asked with actual sincerity.
"Well, I'm not THAT cruel," Patience replied with a cheeky little smirk, before rolling her eyes thoughtfully at Juliet's question. "Mostly smothered and shut in," she admitted. People kept thinking she was going to snap, or something, but she'd shown a LOT of restraint, damn it!
"What about you, Jules?" She asked, sitting on the armrest of the sofa so she could play with Juliet's hair.
"Well, definitely not feeling smothered and shut in." The younger red head smirked to Patience. "Still familarizing myself with the city. Other then that I'm doing good." Juliet informed her sis-in-law. And while it generally irked her greatly when someone played with or stroked her hair, but when Patience had done it on very few occasions, Juliet hadn't really minded.
"That's good," Patience replied with a small smile as she continued to stroke her fingers through Juliet's hair. She found it oddly soothing. "Find a job yet?" And this, she really couldn't help: "Fuck any cute boys yet?"
"Now Patience, don't you know I only sack the ugly ones." Juliet teased back with a smirk to her sister-in-law.
"That's my girl," Patience replied with a wide smile. Sure, they didn't know each other well, but Juliet was family... so you made the extra effort, right? Who knew they'd get on so well.
"What do you say we fly this little coop of yours for a bit. Girl's gotta get out once in a while. I'm sure Patsie can handle the little one for a short time." Being cooped up in the house being smothered by an overprotective hubby wasn't a good thing for a new mom. At least not in Juliet's mind it wasn't.
Patience actually laughed at that. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were a horrible influence on me, Juliet. Actually," she blinked, "maybe you ARE. I don't swear half as much as I usually do when I’m around you." Which was surprisingly true. "But I'm game. Lemme tell Pat I'm headin' out and I’m allll yours."
"Moi?" Juliet displayed mock shock at such an unconceivable notion from Patience as she motioned to herself. Then the younger McConnell actually giggled. "Alrighty. Tell him we won't be gone too long and will not spend all his hard earned cash." The younger red head stated with a playful wink.
"Now WHERE'S the fun in that?" Patience giggled evilly, before hopping off of her perch and starting to head downstairs, "Be ready in five," she told Juliet.
