A Sense Of Evil In The Air
Who: Willow and Tara
Where: Ashes to Ashes
When: Sunday Afternoon
Ever since fire had fallen from the sky, Tara had been on the edge. Something was wrong...well, with the air, for lack of a better way of saying it. And she wasn't thinking that because of the ash still in the atmosphere around them because of all of the burning rocks that had fallen down. She was stocking a book shelf at the moment, trying to think about anything but the pure evil that she felt in the air at the moment. It made her feel physically ill, but she needed the money, so she still had to come into work every day. She was actually thinking of getting in touch with Ash and seeing if he knew anything in particular about all of this stuff. He probably would.
Willow was also feeling the evil that seemed to have put a thickness in the air. Something was definitely out of whack in L.A. and while Buffy had been the first person that crossed her mind to contact a certain blond suddenly crept into her thoughts. If she was sensing the strangeness in the air Willow got the feeling that maybe a fellow witch would be experiencing the same feelings and sensations. It was primarily for that reason that Willow made the drive to Ashes to Ashes.
"Tara?" The red head called out softly and cautiously as she entered the magic shop unsure if the girl would be working or not.
Tara looked over when she heard Willow's voice. She had been worried about the redhead, but she hadn't known how to get in touch with her. Just seeing her made her feel better. "H...hi," she said to Willow as the girl came closer. "Are y...you OK?"
Willow smiled with relief when she saw Tara. The other witch looked to be physically fine after the bit of destructive fire hit L.A. in a reign of fire. "I"m fine." The red head smiled reassuringly to the blond. "How are you doing?" Willow inquired genuinely about the other girl's well being. Just because she looked alright didn't mean that was the case.
Tara nodded. "Doing OK," she said with a slight smile across her face. It was nice to have someone ask about you, even with everything going insane on the outside. "D...do you feel what's going on?" she asked, wondering if she was the only one who could feel all of this...nastiness in the air.
"I feel there's something in the air. Something evil." Willow admitted. "I just don't know what or why." She looked to Tara hoping the girl might have some clue as to what was going on in the city.
Tara nodded. "I've been feeling something, too," she said. "I don't really know what it is, either. I was going to ask a friend of mine today, actually, and see if he knew anything."
"Will you let me know if your friend knows what's going on here in Los Angeles?" Willow asked the blond with the hope that whoever Tara's friend was they would have some knowledge of what was going on.
Tara nodded. "I'll m..make sure to," she said to Willow. "I wou...wouldn't want you to go around the city without kn...knowing anything."
"I'd appreciate it, Tara." Willow said with a soft smile to the blond witch while pulling a pen and paper from her shoulder bag. "I suppose this might come in handy if you try to get in touch with me." The red head scribbled down her number before offering it to the other witch.
Tara gave her a smile and took the number. "Y...yes, it would help," she said playfully. "You sh...should probably stay indoors at night, though. Un...til we know what's going on."
"You should try doing the same." Willow told Tara. "Would probably be safer until we learn exactly what's going on." Hopefully Tara's friend would have some idea of what had befallen The City of Angels.
Tara nodded. "Th...that's my plan as well," she said. "D...dorm life makes that k...kind of easy, actually." She had a mini fridge and everything, so she didn't need to go out and get dinner most nights.
"Well," Willow started with a little bit of hesitancy," guess I should be going as my job here is done." The red headed witch offering the blond a bit of a wane smile. Willow wanted to remain longer at the shop, but the red head seemed to have been caught with a lack of what to say at the moment. Just standing there fidgeting would probably only have her looking like a fool or something.
Tara nodded. However, she wanted to make sure that she saw Willow again soon. "D...do you w...want to meet f...for coffee sometime?" she asked Willow.
Willow smiled at the invitation. "Sure. Have you ever been to Chloe's Sugar Shack?" The red head inquired. The place was one of the more popular coffee places in the city, and Willow had visited it on more then one occasion. An establishment that ranked a thumbs up in the red haired witches book.
Tara nodded. "A friend of mine knows th...the owner." She had been in San Diego at the same time as the Van Warrens, actually, but she didn't hang with them when she hung around Rachelle.
"That's good." Willow smiled glad that the girl was familiar with the coffee establishment. "Maybe on your next day off we could hit The Shack." Going there during one of Tara's lunch breaks from the magic shop didn't seem like it would gave Willow too much time to spend with the other witch. If they went on a day where neither had really anything to do they could just hang out together for as long as they might wish to.
She nodded. "M...my next day off is Saturday," Tara said to Willow. So, class wouldn't interfere with them, either.
"I could do Saturday. I mean we could do this Saturday." Willow smiled. It was going to be great to spend time with some like herself who she actually something in common with. "You can call me if something comes up and we can reschedule or something if necessary.
Tara nodded, smiling. "I don't think anything should come up." Unless another crazy evil thing happened. Even then Tara would probably brave it for this anyway.
"I'll meet you at Chloe's then around 11." Willow suggested to the other witch. Hopefully nothing would befall the city before that that would prevent Willow from seeing Tara that day.
