First School Dance
Who: Julian and Brandie
Where: Avarice
When: Friday, Sept. 24th
For the first time in his life, Julian Lasher felt like the luckiest boy alive. Walking into the Avarice, dressed in a rather gothic-looking coal-black suit with a slightly ruffled shirt under the jacket and a red tie, he had (in HIS opinion) the prettiest girl in the entire school on his arm for the first dance of the year. As the dance music blared through the club, he found himself beaming with pride at the fact that a girl like Brandi Bale even found him worthy of her attention on an evening like this.
Walking inside the club in her red ; dress and matching heels, Brandie waved to a couple of her friends, but otherwise stuck to Julian's side as the two of them made their way inside. "Is there anything you want to do first?" she asked.
"I'm just being honest here: I've never even BEEN to one of these things before. And unless Naomi or Zane shows up, I really don't have any friends here. So... I'm pretty happy doing whatever you want, so long as I'm at your side." Awww. He really WAS a sweetheart. For how much he tended to remind people of Ash, when it came to his personality, they were almost nothing alike outside of the mutual self-loathing.
She smiled at him. "Well, why don't we get some punch and hang in a booth or something for a while?" she asked while she silently prayed that her father didn't come out and make some sort of retarded spectacle.
He found himself almost grateful that Brandi was so sweet and innocent, as really, at least this way there were no expectations about anything other than dancing and maybe a kiss or two... not that he didn't THINK about such things, he just wasn't sure how to go about suggesting them. He led her to a booth and slid in, figuring she'd slide in on the other side...
And she actually slid in right next to him in the booth, leaning her head against his shoulder as she smiled and waited for the waitress to come by and take a drink order from them.
Oh damn. If he could have? He'd have literally melted right there. That was so sweet, affectionate... he wrapped an arm around her, grinning at the thought of this little angel being here with him.
When the waitress came over, she ordered a coke. "So, have you seen Zane or Naomi yet?" she asked him. She knew what both of them looked like, and had actually talked to Naomi once or twice, but she didn't really KNOW either of them.
"No... I'm not sure if Zane is coming or not but no, I havent seen Naomi yet..." He said as he hugged her to him, being SLIGHTLY daring by tilting his head to kiss her lovingly on the side of the neck.
She smiled when she felt his lips hit her skin. "I'm sure at Naomi will show up soon enough," she told him. Who really knew if Zane would come or not, though.
"Gotta be honest again: as long as I have you here? I don't care WHO else shows up. Brandie.. you look SO beautiful..." He said, hoping not to sound too overly forward. "I can't barely take my eyes off you..."
She giggled. "Well, that was kind of how I felt, but I didn't know if I'd be enough company for you or not." She shrugged. "Very glad I am, though." She really liked being around him, so she hoped she was enough.
"Trust me... if you even KNEW some of the thoughts I have about you sometime, you'd probably slap me." He said with blushy admission, sweetly brushing her hair back with his palm.
She just giggled again at that. She didn't want to seem like an airhead with all the giggling, but she didn't know how to respond. OK, so she'd had some very indecent thoughts about him as well, but, at fourteen, she barely knew what to make of those thoughts, much less being able to voice them at all.
This time, he didn't ask. Instead, he just grabbed her and kissed her. Hard. With all the pent-up want he'd had since that first time they went out. Hey, what better time than this, right?
She squeaked a little bit at all the pent up-ness being the kiss when he grabbed her, but she then ended up melting right into it, kissing him right back with just as much ferocity.
"Sorry..." He said as they pulled away. "Can't control myself around you all the time... and that was the thing least likely to get me slapped or shot by your parents."
She gasped when he pulled away, taking a few moments to catch her breath. "My parents might shoot you, but I wouldn't slap you," she admitted, looking up at him with wide eyes.
"Heh. You SAY that..." He said with a blush. "But trust me... My mind isn't as... chivalrous as the rest of me. That part of me is STILL a teenage boy, and, well..." he tried to change the subject, blushing furiously. "Good music so far tonight..."
She blushed, looking away for a moment. "My mind isn't as innocent as you might guess, either," she muttered, looking at her coke when it arrived. "But yeah...GOOD music!"
"I... I kind of just want to sit here. All night. Just looking at you, kissing you... I'm fairly ridiculous, I admit..." He snickered, looking away embarrassed.
"Well, I was hoping for at least a dance or two during the night," Brandie said with a playful pout. "And I'm a rich girl, I tend to get what I want, don't you know?"
"Well. I'd be an idiot to turn down a pouty rich girl." He laughed and stood then, offering her his hand chivalrously before winking. "May I have this dance?"
She took his hand. "It would be my honor," she said, smiling up at him as she got up.
