Scared off!
Who: Lydia, Ben, and CJ Where: Avarice When: Tuesday night
Ben was standing near the bar, just taking a few minutes to watch CJ in action behind the bar. He had to admit, the girl was a natural. She handled all the orders being thrown at her at once, never once losing her posture or the smile on her face. Admittedly, he hired the girl almost solely on looks, figuring she'd keep the men at the bar buying more drinks... but she was damned good at her job.
Meanwhile, Lydia had been stewing a bit. She was still a little peeved at Skylar for lecturing her about Ben. Not so much that it had anything to do with Ben himself... more that she had the nerve to treat her like a child. Lydia was 16 after all, and everyone knows 16 year olds know everything, dammit! But as she sat there, all dolled up in one of the new outfits she'd picked up at the mall (oh, what a beautiful, amazing day that had been...), she happened to look towards the bar. And as she began to lament that stupid wristband that meant 'no alcohol', she noticed the recent object of her affection (ok, lust), standing there. With a grin not unlike that belonging to the cat that ate the canary, Lydia made her way over to the young club owner, practically purring at him. "Bennnnnnnnnjamiiiiiiiiiin....." She twirled a little, leaning into him. "Whatcha doin' tonight, hm? Fancy spending some more 'time' with me?"
Ben, with a look that would have been funny if it hadn't been so serious, jumped back like someone had come at him with a flaming spear. "Whoooooa there, Little Bit. You need to back the hell up, and... no offense... go away." He was looking at her like she was radioactive or something.
She looked up at him with eyes that suddenly suggested less in the way of seductive lolita, and more like heartbroken little girl. "B-But... what happened? I thought we had fun? I mean... I'm not being clingy, or expecting you to date me or anything... didn't we have a good time?"
Ben was an asshole. There was no doubt there. But even he wasn't totally heartless. He sighed, rubbing his forehead, as he felt a migraine coming on. "Nonono. Nothing like that, babe. Look. I had a great time. And you're a gorgeous kid. The PROBLEM is, people found out. And I've heard it through the grapevine that if I get caught even LOOKING at you the wrong way again, a certain relative of yours is going to put silver objects in places I didn't even know I had PLACES. And no offense, honey.. but no amount of hot young ass is worth that. NO AMOUNT."
CJ, meanwhile, had heard the whole exchange, and, rolling her eyes, couldn't help but chime in. "Jesus, Ben... her too? A little young, don't ya think? What's next, you gonna mount a fetus?"
Ben cast a glare at CJ and made a waving motion with his hand. "Shuddup and pour drinks, you." He looked back at Lydia and made a shrugging gesture. "Anyway. You get what I'm saying?"
Lydia made a rather cute pout, and crossed her arms. "Yeah. Once again, Skylar has ruined my day. Don't worry, Ben. I understand, and I'm freakin' livid here... but not at you. I'll get this taken care of... and THEN I'll come see you." She made herself smile long enough to give him a flirty little wink, then stormed off.
Ben, meanwhile, could FEEL the glare he was getting from CJ. He spun around, and just threw his arms up. "What???"
CJ, for her part, just shook her head and tried not to laugh. "Ben, I swear... you are gonna end up dead or in jail."
"Hey..." Ben said with a grin. "If I'm goin' to hell.... I might as well enjoy the ride."
