Reintroing of Sorts
Who: Buffy and Ami
Where: Avarice
When: Sept. 1st, Evening
Buffy sipped at her coke as she sat in Avarice. She had just finished a few tours of a few graveyards, and was feeling good. The few vamps that she had ran into were easy pickings for her. Of course, they were all kind of fleeing LA because of 'scary apocalypse stuff' coming, but Buffy was pushing that to the back of her mind. Right now she was just focusing on the music and trying to NOT think about scary death, and the fact that, unbeknown to her, this week it was probably going to rain fire from the sky or something in order to get this fucking plot DONE. But the mun digresses...
The whole thing where the timestream messed up? And got all twisted like an Eli Roth movie? Yeah. It resulted in a few fun mishaps. Among then? Narcissa being in Vegas now. Skylar being a slayer. A fucking LITTER of Future!Kids running around. But this one? This one was bound to mess with the heads and hearts of people the most. Because right now? Walking through the front doors to Avarice, was none other than Ami McConnell-Morrison. Yeah. Don't worry. It'll get explained, ok? So shut up. Wearing a plaid miniskirt and black tank-top, with black boots finishing off the ensemble, her long blonde hair falling slightly in her face. This sucked... she didn't know if anyone SHE knew would be in this reality, and if they were? How different they would be.
Buffy's eyes were scanning the bar for anyone that she knew and wanted to talk to, when her eyes caught Ami, and she nearly fell out of her chair. While she hadn't been close with the girl back in the day, she had known who she was, and was there when she died and turned into Bella McConnell, so THIS was freaky and a half. She hopped off her stool and walked over. "Um...Ami?"
"Hi..." The other blonde said with a sheepish grin. "Buffy, right?" Hell, she knew her as Buffy, but for all Ami knew her name could be Bertha here. Bertha the Vampire Slayer? ANYONE???
"Yeah..." God, she'd kill her mother if she had named her Bertha. And Buffy was a nickname, thanks. Her full name was Elizabeth. Anyways..."So, are you this world's Ami or a different one? Because this stuff is getting SERIOUSLY confusing." And didn't she have a point? "Because, if you this world's Ami, then coming back from the dead is a neat trick and I want to know how you did it."
"I... ok, so I'm sort of... oh god, this is lame." She sighed, leaning against the wall. "I was hoping I'd at least moderately fit in, and THAT lasted all of about 15 minutes... ok, evidently somehow, I got bounced into a reality different than the one I belong in. It seems mostly the same though..." She thought, pursing her lips, "Although apparently in this one Mr. T never ran for President."
"And thank GOD for that," Buffy admitted. "Apparently I had a child in one of those realities, too, like, yesterday or something." She laughed. "Still, timelines suck, huh? And I had some of the least traumatically crappy stuff happen to me." She looked at Ami for a moment. "When did you get here?"
"Couple weeks ago... I've been pretty much hiding until I could figure out where and when I was..." Ami shook her head and sighed. "I'm sort of feeling awkward. I don't know who I knew there that I don't know here or who I didn't know there that I might have known HERE and now I'm giving myself a headache."
Buffy sighed. Damn, this sounded terrible, actually. Buffy wasn't sure what she'd do if she were in a similar situation. "Well, I can tell you a few things, as far as I knew and heard them." Of course, some things she wouldn't know, but she'd at least know the basics of Ami's life before and tell her who to talk to now.
"Oh, I've learned the gist of it. I sorta changed into a totally different person. And... sort of have different parentage here." She grimaces, giving a cute little whimper.
Buffy nodded. "I see. Mind if I ask who YOUR parents are?" Seemed like, other than looks and name, she really had turned into a completely different girl, hadn't she?
"But yeah... in my world, my parents were Pat and Gwen McConnell." Oh. Oh dear. "Seems that here? There was a whollllllle 'nother party involved there."
Buffy's eyes widened and then nodded. "Wow...yeah, there was a big ole mess going on with that," she said with a slight sigh. "Things are all sorts of crazy here with that situation, I think."
"Seriously, I had TWO moms here? Ohmygod. I... I don't even wanna KNOW. As it is, I see that things are WAY different in this place. My mom and dad aren't even together here, and evidently, I'm now someone named Bella." She cutely thunked her head down onto the table. "Ok, seriously. We gotta change the subject soon before I get a migraine."
Buffy nodded. "That would cause a migraine and a half," she said with a slight smirk. "I don't know WHAT went on there, but I just know it ended kind of badly. Whatever, though." She shrugged. "Oh, the other version of you was involved with a Watcher named Andrew Wells. Might want to avoid him now unless you like making people lose their mind, which, if it's your thing, whatever."
"Andrew Wells? He's like... my parent's age!" Ahhh. THIS Ami was clearly from her own time, hm? "Ewww. He's my mom's friend. Ew ew ew EW."
"There were like, issues or something," Buffy said with a shrug. "I know there was a reason or something behind it. I didn't get it, either, though." Pretty girls going for a nerd. Who could figure it?
"God, you're all so much younger than where I'm from... it's kinda neat though..." She nibbled her upper lip nervously, brows furrowing together. "Luckily, from what I've pieced together, there can't be anymore of us getting misplaced. Anyone who was going to... did."
Buffy nodded. "That's kind of a relief. No offense or anything, but I know that this actually really messed up some lives." It had gotten kind of nutty for a while, but things had finally seemed to of calmed down.
"None taken. Believe me... I wish I was back home. Seems all the timelines got twisted and combined sort of, and now there's nothing for me to go BACK to. And before I start crying, I'm just gonna change the subject and say thank you for at least giving me someone to talk to here..." The tall blonde said with a sweet grin as she tucked a strand of curly hair behind her left ear.
Buffy reached over and patted her on the shoulder. "So, are you still all Slayer like and stuff here?" she asked, changing the subject. "Because, if you are, we can definitely use your help."
"I am... but I'm pretty much just like you. I've... heard that the version of me YOU guys knew was like... a Super-Slayer or something. Which is kind of AWESOME." She giggled with a little embarrassment there, at the thought of being some supercool slayer that was above all others.
Buffy shrugged. "Yeah, I still don't quite get what that means," she admitted. "Still, I think that passed to Bella or whatever." And the idea of it was STILL a little freaky to her, admittedly. Then again, ALL of this was freaky on some scale, wasn't it?
"So... my guess? Best thing to do is kind of... think of me as a new person who just... looks like someone you knew. Ok, and has the same name. And the same dad. And kind-of the same mom? And who possibly rambles as much. And I need to be quiet now." She grumbled and hid her face.
"So...like a long lost twin if anything?" Buffy asked. "But totally not the same person, just a twin." Actually, it was fairly easy for her to wrap her mind around it. It might be harder for others, though.
"You know what? Sure. Why not." Ami laughed, shaking her head. "I gotta ask... is my mom as big of a dork in this place? I mean... she collected comics books and named me after a Star Wars character. If she's different here... I might cry." The blonde admitted with a little giggle.
"Oh yeah, major dork, here, too," Buffy said with a nod. "I heard that she's actually opening a comic book shop in Vegas where she just moved to." So Ami had basically just missed her, lovely.
"Hey... you, um... oh GOD I feel like such a scrub asking this..." Ami rolled her eyes, taking a breath and just saying it. "So you know anywhere I might be able to crash for a while? I've been squatting at a motel lately, but they caught on that I've been there and now I'm sort of looking for another place."
"Well, actually, the Watchers just fixed up this hotel called The Hyperion that I'm sure you can snag a room in," Buffy said to her. "It's not scrub-like at all. Besides, especially since you're all Slayer-like still, it shouldn't be a big deal at all."
"Oh man... that would be SO great if they wouldn't mind. Who could I talk to? I mean, I don't wanna just stroll in all willy-nilly, ya know?" She said with a slight squeak, obviously still as polite and sweet as the Ami they had formerly known.
"Well, Mr. Giles is always a good bet," Buffy said to her. "He's not hard to find at all, either. He's either at his own home or at the Hyperion, actually, training with Faith." The poor man didn't seem to have much of a life, as far as Buffy could tell.
Ami nodded, biting her lip again. "Think he'd be around now? I kinda need SOMEPLACE to go."
Buffy nodded. "I'm sure he is. He's kind of a workaholic, being head oh council and such." He shouldn't be that hard to find right now at all, really.
"Would you mind taking me there? So I don't get all nervous and sweaty and end up running away?" Oh man... Ami was still a spaz, even in a different reality.
Yeah, Buffy could totally tell that. "Sure," she said with a nod. She slid off the bar stool and paid her tab. "Come on and we'll get you some place to stay."
