Seeing Heaven in the Devil's Eyes
Who: Lena and Devon
Where: Eden
When: Tuesday Night, 8/31
Lena waited for Devon to arrive at Eden while she slowly trailed her finger around her wine glass. She was actually sitting in a corner booth, away from the crowds. She had thought of telling him to meet her in the basement, but she wasn't sure how long the two of them would be staying here, so she decided to wait. She was actually incredibly interested in taking him home and all but tearing him to pieces, but she decided to at least see what sort of mood he was in tonight before trying to do such. He *better* be in a good mood, though, or she just might do it, anyway. While she wasn't completely sure, she knew that she was about twice his age, so she was fairly certain she could take him if she really wanted to.
When she saw him walk through the entrance, she shot him a feral grin. She was more than ready to see him, since they hadn't had the chance to be around each other in a little while.
"Well hello there." Devin said with a chuckle as he walked in. He wore black jeans, black boots, and a black button-down shirt. That was just about as 'goth' as Devon got, folks. "And judging from that look, I'm either terribly afraid or quite excited."
"Personally, I think you should be excited," she said to him, still smiling up at him. She herself was wearing a pair of skin tight leather pants and a black and red corset that she'd had for *quite* a long while, thank you very much. Strangely, this outfit made her blend in with the place even better than he did. "Have a seat and have a drink with me."
"Like I'd pass up that invitation..." He smirked, taking a seat across from her. "You look downright delicious tonight, by the way. Mouth-watering, really."
She chuckled. "That was part of the point." She just happened to like dressing this way on occasion as well. She just didn't get to do it very often. She took a sip of her wine. "So what have you been up to lately?"
"Mostly.... Doing some soul-searching, as most call it. Thinking about all the changes in my existence, and what I think I need." Hey, he was nothing if not honest, and hid nothing from Lena these days.
Something that she was glad of, actually. "What exactly have you figured out that you need?" she asked him.
He thought about how to word his answer before just going with simplicity: "...you. I can straddle the line, be what I am without giving up who I am... But I need you in my life to do it."
She nodded. "Good," she said. If he had tried to get away from her at this point she wouldn't have let him, no matter *how* much it may have pissed off his sire. She wasn't too worried about her, anyway. Besides, she wasn't telling him to be evil. She just wanted him to stop denying what he was. There was no shame in being a vampire, in her opinion. You just didn't have to be pure evil just for the sake of it, either. That's what *she* learned.
"We skirt around the issue, but the fact is..." He gave a resigned smirk and laughed. "While it wasn't what either of us expected or intended... I've fallen completely, painfully in love with you."
At least she had never seen love as a disgusting human emotion, huh? "Love doesn't have to be painful," she said with a slight smirk. "Unless that's what you're into, of course."
"Can't say I've ever tried being 'into it'. But something tells me you're dying to help me find out..." Devon said with a raised eyebrow. "So... am I alone in my feelings? Because I get the feeling I'm NOT."
"I certainly wouldn't object," Lena said coyly. While she had certainly 'played' with a few meals she'd had over the years, she hadn't been able to do so with another vampire. Luke was...well...Luke, and couldn't relinquish control to anymore. "That would be up to you, though." Considering all the 'flagellation' jokes she had made at his expense, she was a little surprised that he actually had not tried it.
Had he noticed that she avoided the question he'd tacked on at the end? Definitely. He said nothing though. "I hear Adrianna had a talk with you. I apologize if she... came on strong. She can be protective of me at times."
"She can," Lena agreed. "You're lucky I love you or I wouldn't have put up with that." Was she a little gun shy just saying that she loved someone? Maybe. It was easier to work it into another statement.
Ok, now that brought a smile to his face. Forget the fact that honestly? Adrianna could likely destroy BOTH of them at the same time if she wanted to. The fact that she said she loved him kind of made that fact lost on him there. "Eternity is truly a long, long time. But I find that the prospect of sharing it with you... makes it much less frightening."
Lena at least would have put up a fight if Adrianna tried to do something. She wasn't one to go gently into that good night. Also, she would have at least set fire to herself as Adrianna tried to attack her just for spite. Anyways..."You shouldn't find eternity frightening," she told him. "It just gives us time to truly explore one another."
"I love how you can make the most basic statement sound so damn... sexy." He laughed, the very thought of 'exploring' her very exciting to him.
She laughed. "That one was meant to be sexual," she pointed out to him with a smile. "What do you say about the two of us getting out of here and starting that exploring?"
"I say that while we may have eternity... I suddenly find myself in a hurry anyway." He smirked, standing to offer her a hand.
She took his hand and let him help her stand up. "Just because we have eternity doesn't mean that we shouldn't get started tonight," she said with a grin.
