Faith Catches Up
Who: Faith and Lydia
Where: The Mall
When: Tuesday Afternoon
Faith was sitting in the food court with a mountain of food in front of her. She had been on a bit of a shopping spree, using a little bit of retail therapy to deal with her issues. Sure, she was totally over Ben but, and she'd only admit this to herself, it still stung a little. Besides, Candice already had a score in their score book, so that left Faith behind, which bothered her more right now than anything Ben could really do. Still, right now she needed a carbo load after buying up everything in leather in the entire mall. She was pretty sure that she had managed to kill an entire herd of cows by all that she had bought, though. Best not to think about that and to think of how fucking sexy she'd look in all of it.
For her part, Lydia had been out doing what any teenager who just got verbally reamed out by her older sister would do: shopping. It wasn't like a sisterly bitch fight was possible anymore without Lydia getting maimed, so she decided to take her anger out on her Visa. Having gone pretty much crazy in the CD store and in Macy's, Lydia decided to hit Victoria's Secret as well. You know. Just in case she decided to hook up with Ben again, and REALLY twist Skylar's panties in a bunch. After all that, it was the food court. Nothing like a few slices fro Sbarro to make a day at the mall complete...
Faith's eyes flickered over to the girl walking into the food court. Very pretty, vaguely familiar, like she had seen her somewhere before. She didn't clearly recognize her, though, so quickly dismissed that fact. She gave her a grin as she walked by, though. Maybe she could catch up with Candice soon.
Lydia just smiled and waved at the girl. She knew she didn't know her, yet for some reason she looked familiar... maybe one of Skylar's friends? She looked closer to her own age though...
Faith's grin got wider when the girl smiled back. "Want to join me so that I'm not eating by myself? Always love some pretty company."
"Sure, why not." Lydia had always been overly friendly, almost to a fault, really. She walked to the table Faith was at and sat down. "Looks like I'm not the only one who went a little crazy today. I'm Lydia. Nice to meet you."
"Nah, retail therapy is healthy, don't you know?" Faith grinned at her. "I'm Faith. Pleasure is all mine. What are you trying to shop away?"
"Oh, nothing, really. Boy-slash-sister trouble. Kinda hooked up with a boy my sister didn't approve of, got the third degree and everything." She shrugged. "Worst part is, I'm not usually like that. He was just... god, he has this draw to him, you know?"
"Some men have that kind of draw. I was with a guy like that. Turns out that he's a user of people. Can't deal with that." Faith took a bite of her chicken. "My guardian didn't approve of him, either. Turns out he was right, though."
"You look SO familiar... do you know Skylar James?" She asked, cocking her head a little to the left.
Faith nodded. "Yeah, we kind of work in the same field." So to speak, anyway. "Are you guys like, related or something? You look a lot alike."
"Same field, huh?" She smirked, knowing full well what that meant. "Yeah, I'm here sister."
Faith's eyes widened for a moment, before breaking out into a big grin. "That so? She the one giving you crap about who you date then?"
"Yeah, yeah... lucky me." Lydia rolled her eyes, and giggled. She still hadn't recognized Faith as the girl she'd seen over and over with Ben.
"Well...I wouldn't dog you for dating around. How can you find something worth keeping if you don't taste everything that's offered, right?" Faith kept on grinning at her.
Lydia laughed at that one. Wasn't quite how she operated, but she had to respect the girl for being so sure. "Well, thank you." Then it hit her. Who the girl was. Her eyes widened a little. "Um... I just kinda realized how I know you. You used to date Benjamin Bale, didn't you?"
Faith arched an eyebrow at her when she asked if she dated Ben. "Yeah, once upon a time, but that story has been told, printed, and put away on a shelf."
"Right. Well then... don't annihilate me, but.... yeah.... Ben's the guy Skylar was so pissed about." Lydia winced, ready for Faith to haul off and punch her in the mouth.
"I knew that Ben was hitting everything pretty right and left, but I didn't realize he'd go after a Slayer's sister." Then again, not too shocking. He'd really do anyone. "He's got good taste, but he dated me, so that was a given."
"....so... you're not gonna destroy me?" She asked in a sweetly adorable voice.
"Nah, why would I do that?" Faith asked, still grinning at her. "I'd not bother much with him, though. He's an ass of epic proportions."
"Yeah, he's kinda a jerk, but..." she blushed, grinning ear to ear, as she whispered in Faith's ear.
Faith cracked up. "Yeah, he's got that. So do plenty of other guys, though. Hell, try dating a little older. Those guys...now they know what to do in bed," she told Lydia with a wink and a nudge.
"Well, I still haven't actually done the deed with anyone yet, so..." she laughed, loving the fact that Faith wasn't being preachy about her age or anything. "As for older? Ben's only 23 and Skylar almost crapped a brick. I think I'll avoid that for now, thanks."
"So, what were you doing with him, then, if not getting banged six ways from Sunday?" He was good at that. It was the other stuff that he was subhuman about.
Well, Faith certainly had an interesting mouth. Lydia blushed again, and, too embarrassed to say it, merely gave the universal BJ gesture with her hand.
"I hope he at least returned the favor, or he's getting lazy in his old age," Faith commented. Girl deserves a little prize for all that work, you know?
Yeah, and here the girl didn't think she could possibly blush more. "Actually, we kinda didn't have that much time. And it was my idea to begin with." She felt like hiding.
"Now that's the asshole that I'm talking about," Faith commented. "Have you ever even had anything like that?"
"Nah, not yet. I hate to admit this, but prior to Ben, all I'd ever done is kiss someone." Of course, she was only 16... that's all she SHOULD have done. But not like she'd believe it.
"Oh no, you've been missing out." Faith was only two years older, but she at least had gotten herself taken care of in all sorts of different ways. "You shouldn't give without receiving."
"Well... if the chance presents itself, I'll have to make sure to seize it." She laughed, honestly just picturing asking Ben if she saw him again.
Faith thought about that. "Ever thought about trying it with a girl?" she asked her, taking a sip of her coke real quick.
Lydia almost choked on her pizza there, her eyes going wide before looking back to Faith. Jeez... forward much??? "Wow. Um... considering who my sister is, I mean, of course the thought's crossed my mind, but I guess I never really put much serious thought into it." Sure, she'd found plenty of girls attractive, but she'd mostly just dug guys.
Half of the reason Faith was so forward was to get reactions out of people. Very fun thing to do. "Well, women know how to do it better. Just to let you know." She'd let her sit on that for a while. Let it simmer in her brain.
"That a fact?" Lydia asked, guessing why Faith was saying this, but not wanting to take anything for granted. "You seem to know a lot about this..."
Faith smiled at her. "I know a good bit, yeah. Let's just say that I'm not into limiting my options like some people."
"Sounds like you're a good friend to have, Faith." Lydia gave her that impish little grin that she knew at least usually made guys melt.
"I am a good friend to have," Faith said, returning Lydia's impish grin with a devilish one of her own.
"You don't strike me as the type who takes 'no' for an answer... am I right?" The younger girl giggled.
"Don't hear it enough for it to be a habit, but not usually," Faith told her. "You wouldn't hear it all that often either, though."
"Then I guess I probably shouldn't try..." Ok, granted... she was doing this just as much to piss off Skylar than for herself... but she *was* doing it for both reasons.
"Now that is what I'd love to hear," Faith said. "Why don't we get out of here and I let you find out just how good it is to receive?"
Lydia giggled again, her blush growing greater, and stood up, grabbing her bags. "Sounds good to me..."
Faith gathered up her bags. "Then let's blow the hell out of this joint."
