Introductions Who: Meghan and Brandon with an appearance by Bastian Where: Studio at Full Moon Records When: Afternoon - August 17
Meeghan sat on a stool in the studio making additions or scratch outs in between strums on her guitar trying to get just the right sound for the song she had been working on for the past few days. It was one of a few she had in the works, but the only one that seemed anywhere near completion.
"You know... I kind of love what a perfectionist you are when it comes to getting a song just right..." Brandon said with a grin as he made his way into the studio, a grin that usually meant he had something awesome on his mind. He was, hilariously, quite like his father in that way. "And for the record, it's somewhere between hilarious and adorable how your face scrunches up when you're really concentrating."
"Song's not gonna work if it isn't perfect." Meeghan glanced up with a smirk directed toward Brandon when she heard the guy enter the studio she was working in. "And if you're attempting to use a pick up line on me gotta warn you it's a useless try as I'm spoken for." The ebony haired singer teased. She knew that wasn't the case with Brandon as he was as content in his current relationship as Meeghan was at the moment.
"Please. I'm a Bale. We don't need pickup lines." He said it jokingly, but... sadly? He wasn't WRONG. "While on the subject though, we seriously need to have dinner sometime. Me and Catherine, you and your better half. This project of ours is gonna take a LOT of our time... our 'others' should at least get to meet the people that are gonna be stealing us away so much..."
"I think that can be arranged for real soon." Meeghan smiled before leaning forward again to make another slight alteration to her song. "Maybe sometime next week?"
"I think that can be arranged. We'll do takeout, obviously, since honestly? Catherine or me trying to cook leads to instant tragedy." He laughed and rubbed the back of his head. "We both think of the kitchen as 'that room the fridge is in', really..."
"How do you two manage to stay together." Meeghan commented with a chuckle and shake of her head. She wasn't a Master Chef, but at least she could hold her own in the kitchen. Keeps her from having to get take out all the time.
"Probably because we're insanely, ridiculously attracted to each other." He admitted, barking out a laugh. "Seriously... it's amazing we can leave the house sometimes."
"Okay, you're heading into TMI country there." Meeghan warned playfully with a breathy little laugh. "So, give me your input on this." Meeghan reached for the notebook to offer to Brandon. Once he took it she readjusted the guitar on her lap. Fingers strumming smoothly the strings of the instrument as Meeghan softly sang the first two verses.
Don't know much about your life. Don't know much about your world, but Don't want to be alone tonight, On this planet they call earth.
You don't know about my past, and I don't have a future figured out. And maybe this is going too fast. And maybe it's not meant to last.
"Wow..." Brandon said in an impressed whisper when she was done, "That... that's so COMPLETELY not what I expected out of you. But I like it. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that's written more... for a certain someone than it is for the band?"
"I think you could be right about that." Meeghan smirked knowingly for a brief second before the smirk faded when the singer got a weird vibe that had her gaze drifting toward the recording room.
There were only two places that Bastian knew for certain that she was able to find Meeghan. One of which was her apartment, while the other was the recording studio. The leggy blonde had gone too long without seeing her girlfriend, which explained why she slid into the recording room a few minutes earlier. She was never one for big gestures and, to be fair, didn't want to hinder the creative process, so she stayed quiet and listened to them talk… and then listened to part of Meeghan's song.
When Meeghan's gaze met hers in the recording studio, she slid her hands into her back pockets bashfully, smiled, and mouthed "hi". While she had never been good at expressing emotion around people, there was no denying the tears in her eyes.
Now keep in mind, Brandon had yet to meet either of the twins. He'd HEARD about them (and mocked Neely incessantly), but hadn't met them. So when he saw the gorgeous blonde walk in, he just blinked, then looked at Meeghan. "Damn. If that's your better half? I don't even know how you get yourself to go anywhere."
Meeghan smiled warmly back at the blonde in the recording booth. "It's a hard thing to do, but I manage to survive the separation." Meeghan relayed to Brandon with a brief glance to the guy. "Guess introductions are in order now." Meeghan commented with a crooked little smile.
"I'd say so." Brandon replied, giving a wave and a charming little wink to the blonde. Hell... if his friend cared this much for the girl, the least Brandon could do was try to make her feel comfortable here.
"Bastian," Meeghan motioned her girlfriend over, "Brandon. Brandon, Bastian." The singer then watched each for their reaction as the names alone should make them instantly familiar to each other.
Bastian slid her hand into Meeghan's almost as soon as she was near the other woman and smiled faintly when she was introduced to Brandon. He looked… better than she remembered him. Her uncle Brandon was almost eighteen years older, but save a few crow's feet and world weary eyes he was almost the same. "It's nice to see you again Uncle Brandon," she said to him. While Courtney didn't like many people, Bastian liked a few more… she just didn't express as much. Nevertheless, she always liked being around Brandon. There was something about being in his presence that lightened her somehow.
The blonde, who had blue eyes so much like her mother's and her grandmother's, gave Meeghan a very sweet and tender kiss on the lips, expressing so much with that one little action. Even if she didn't know it.
"Bas..." he cut himself off mid-word, eyes going wide. Get outta here. "Neely's Bastian?" He asked, trying not to smirk there, as, the more he looked at her face, the more he realized it couldn't be any other.
"Shocker, huh?" Meeghan smiled to Brandon while giving Bastian's hand a squeeze as it slipped into her own.
"Well, while it does give me a mild case of giggles to even PICTURE Neely being anything other than 100% gay, I'll take the high road here and just welcome you."
He looked at the two girls, amazed at the look of, well... pure adoration in Meeghan's eyes.
"Meegs is a good gal. I don't think I could possibly BE more approving of this than I am, kiddo. Just try not to distract her too badly, got it?"
Oh, did he send her a snarky little wink there. He really DID have some of his father in him at times.
