Moving In
Who: Jeremy Lewis
Where: His new home in LA.
When: Monday afternoon
The newest Watcher that the Council had sent to Los Angeles, Jeremy had only been in town about a week. In that time, he'd been staying at a nearby hotel, while he took care of two pressing issues: meeting his slayer and finding a place to live. The Council promised to take care of the cost, but it was up to him to actually find the place.
He'd met his Slayer, Catherine Baclanova, twice now, and found her to be refreshingly open to being taught and trained. And while he'd been stressed about the living situation, he had opened the newspaper the second day he was in town, and saw what, to him, was a perfect small home.
Of course, he should have known there was a reason such a gorgeous little house was both available, and for so low a price. The house had belonged previously to Patrick and Iris McConnell, and Iris had been murdered on the front steps. Apparently, Patrick couldn't take living in the house after that, and after hearing about the murder, people weren't exactly lining up to purchase the place. After calling the Council and getting them to put a call in to the realtor, he was officially renting the house, although granted, he felt a little weird about it. Still... it was better than nothing, right?
While on the surface a stuffy, boring watcher, Jeremy just liked to be himself more in private. He'd been that way since he'd lost his first love, a fellow watcher, while both were still training two years ago. Since that moment... he tried not to let himself get too close to people he didn't have to.
But at home, by himself, he felt free to be himself. He set up his television, and decorated the place with the various items he'd collected over the years from his favorite band, Iron Maiden. Framed tour posters, vinyl LPs, etc were soon hung on the walls, and a statue of Eddie as The Trooper adorned the top of his TV. He showered, and changed out of his suit and into a simple pair of jeans and a black flannel shirt, settling in to the recliner with a dog-eared copy of 'The Once and Future King' by TH White. Maybe, just maybe, living in this house wouldn't be so bad after all...
