I'd Say He's a Horrible Influence...
Who: Ben and Kayla
Where: Saints and Sinners
When: Wednesday, August 11th
Kayla hadn't had the best week of her life. In fact, she hadn't been having the best few months. Ever since she'd been hurt, come to think of it...
She made her way into S&S to find Ben. Hopefully this relationship she could salvage. She was dressed in black, ripped denim, a loose Coma White tee, her left wrist and hand bandaged. She found Ben at his private table. "Ben?"
"God DAMN, woman..." Ben looked her up and down with a sincere smile, waving one of the dancers away. "You look amazing." He reached over to take her hand, kissing it charmingly. "Surprised to see you here. I heard about Deanna and yourself. I'm... very sorry. What can I do for you?"
She made a surprised expression but sat down in a seat near him, joining her hands on top of the table. She scanned the dancers thoughtfully, glad that she didn't spot Deanna there. "Thank you," she murmured. "Actually, that's why I'm here."
"Really. Do tell. Because actually... I had wanted to talk to YOU, as well." He moved over, patting the seat beside him for her to have a seat.
She scooched over next to him with a thoughtful frown on her face before just... coming out with it. "I was thinking, I can't work here knowing that she's here. Watching her," the Slayer's muscles tensed, "But I remembered that your wife fired one of the girls at Avarice recently, so what do you think about me just... going over there?"
"I think that can be arranged. You've been a good worker, and you're always pleasant to deal with. I... can understand not wanting to have to be around Deanna right now." He gave her a sweet smile and winked. "Consider it done. Now... Maybe you'd be willing to help ME with something." Hey... Ben was nothing of not direct. Luckily, he was charming enough to pull it off. "My wife... has always found you pleasing to look at, as have I. Would you be at all interested in... spending an evening with us sometime? I assure you... we would make sure you forget ALL your problems..."
"You're serious," Kayla replied with a frown. She honestly never thought about it herself, but... come to think of it, Ben and Skylar WERE an attractive couple. "I don't want to hurt her... or the baby," she admitted. Hey, they were being honest here, right?
"I'll talk to her. See if she'd rather wait until she gives birth. If not?" He winked with a laugh. "You can just go rougher on me. I think I'd enjoy being... hurt."
That actually *did* get a small smile out of her, as brief as it was. "Just... be sure it's what you both want," she warned him darkly.
"We will. One way or the other, the transfer is yours. I'd never make you feel like I was trying to make you do anything. Report to Avarice tomorrow at 5pm. Your shift starts at 7, and you'll spend two hours with CJ learning the differences between the two clubs. Try not to slip in your own drool around CJ." He gave her a soft smile. "And for the record... I am sorry you're in pain."
"Thank you, Ben," Kayla replied before wrapping her arms around his neck and hugging him. She hadn't been much of a hugger lately, it seemed. It was interesting that Ben was the first person she'd done that with in a while, especially given that she didn't much like him when they first met. "I promise I won't let you down. ... In either instance," she added. Well, at least her sense of humour was still intact.
"Kayla... I sense a kindred spirit in you. Always have. The pain, the rage you feel right now... I went through it when my parents were killed. If you ever need someone... in ANY way..." He winked there, as he was being serious AND playful, "I'm always here for you."
She chuckled weakly then, "Might want to be careful with what you offer there, boss. Otherwise you won't ever get rid of me." ... Yeah, like that was a BAD thing.
"I think I could live with that." He said with a grin, hugging her right back. "Now get outta here. You-know-who is due in soon, and I'd rather spare you more angst."
"Har har." She gave him a punch in the arm with her sore hand and then winced, "Fuck. Ow. I blame you for that," she teased lightly.
"Yeah, well... What can I say? I seem to have a thing for being able to reach people nobody else can seem to." Considering he'd gotten through to Skylar way back when... He had a point. "Now. I mean it. Scram, gorgeous."
She nodded and gave him a wink before doing just that, since the last thing she wanted was to run into Deanna. The wound was ... still fresh there. She was the first to admit.
Ben watched her go, admittedly checking out her remarkably fine ass as she went. "Damn. I have GOT to call Skylar. Like, right NOW."
