New Slayer Rolling In
Who: Anita Torres and Catherine Baclanova
Where: Cemetery
When: Wednesday Night, August 4th
For as long as she could remember, Anita had always been a fighter. She fought with her father, school bullies… even the cops (fortunately, she was still a minor, so that wasn't a biggie in her mind), but she'd never felt as physically strong as she had in the last year or so. She'd had odd dreams about vampires and girls trained to kill them, and one night went out on her own and did just that. She was a smart girl, if a little bit untrained and… unpredictable. She was currently in one of LA's many cemeteries, taking on three vamps, laughing each time one of them managed to get a hit in. A girl who laughed at pain? Had some serious issues.
Catherine was out on a patrol herself, doing what the Slayer did best, hunting vampires. Of course, what she wasn't expecting was to stumble across a scene that would include one girl that she didn't know taking on three vampires. A little surprised, Catherine just decided to hang back for a bit and see how things developed before jumping in.
One of the vampires managed to grab Anita from behind, hooking her arms up. She laughed and said: “Bitch, please,” before spinning her leg out, kicking another vamp in the face in the action. Sure, the first vamp still had a hold of her, but a quick kick to the kneecap changed that. He let out a shriek and let go of her, staggering back. The third vamp, well… she'd forgotten about him and received a quick kick to the stomach, before staggering back herself.
OK, the girl was good, although Catherine herself didn't recognize her. She didn't train with the Watcher's Council, that was for certain. If she had a trainer of any sort, they weren't doing a good job. She was good, but she was kind of wild. Not a good thing, in this situation. It had made her lose track of the third vampire, who had gotten the upper hand on her. So, this meant that maybe Catherine should step in. Catherine ran forward and grabbed a hold of one of the vampires, yanking it away from the other girl and all but hurling it away from her and into the wall of a mausoleum. She could hear the building crack a little, since Catherine had thrown him a little *too* hard. While he was dazed, she ran up and staked him with one of the stakes that she had on her.
"Awuh!" Anita pouted. "I wanted to do that!" There wre still two other vampires, however, and without another word, she got down to business. She snapped a kick to one vampires eardrum and while he staggered, she threw her arm out, puncturing the other guy in the heart. "See? That's
how we do it!" Sure, there was one left, but she was like a cat with a trapped mouse at this point.
"Just making sure that you do not die," Catherine stated simply. Luckily for Anita was that, while Catherine's accent was still thick and Bond-Villain like, at least now she had been here long enough so that she was understandable. "Because I am sure that you would like to live another day in order to kill more vampires, yes?"
"Ohmygod, you have the coolest accent ever," Anita replied with a laugh. Giving Catherine a little more attention. The poor vamp tried slinking away, but Anita caught him in her peripheral vision. "Not done with you, boy-o!" She laughed and knocked him to the ground, before straddling him and punching him until he was black and blue. Well, until she'd had her fun, anyway. Stake still in hand, she staked him and said, in an accent that imitated Catherine's: "Yes, I want to live".
"Thank you," Catherine said. "I hear that a lot." Catherine merely tilted her head again and watched the girl go to town on the vampire, as if studying her a little. Actually, if Catherine hadn't become a Slayer and had remained only a potential, she would have eventually would have made a very good, if a little ruthless, Watcher. That's a path unable to be taken, though. "If you really want to live, you really can't play with them as much. A vampire will take any advantage that they can."
"But it's so fun," Anita replied with a devilish grin, before standing and dusting herself off. Hm, think she had a lot of aggression to work off?
"I know," Catherine pointed out. Actually, she knew very well, because she had an aggression problem as well, it seemed. Of course, she was working on hers, while this girl seemed to be reveling in it. "Just wouldn't want you to get killed because another vampire or demon swooped in and got you while you were distracted beat up another one too much."
"Well, aren’t you just sweet, lookin’ out for little ole’ me," Anita replied, tilting her head to the side and giving Catherine a cock-eyed look. "Question…. Hrrrrmh, why? I doubt I’d give a shit if anything happened to you." Harsh, but true. She only looked after number one.
Catherine shrugged at that comment. "Not shocking. You do not even know me." Most people wouldn't look out for others. Catherine just happened to be different. "How did you learn to fight vampires?"
