Hanging Out
Who: Jamie and Jason
Where: Jason's Home
When: July 15th, Evening
Jamie was sitting on the sofa in Jason's massive living room while she waiting on him to go to the kitchen to get them both something to drink. Because of the Slayer rotation, she actually managed to have the night off from patrolling (no one was supposed to get exhausted and whatever), so she was going to take advantage of it by spending some time with her boyfriend. Plus, her own parents were out of town so she didn't have to be back at any particular time. Of course, she could have just lied and said she was patrolling anyway. Nice to have parents who were in on the Slayer thing and all. "What are you doing in there? Ordering the coke from Atlanta?"
"Hah hah hah, Jaime. How's one girl get to be SO funny?" He asked with a sarcastic laugh, finally bringing in two big glasses full of ice and a two-litre bottle of soda. "Here I thought you were here for the company. Turns out you're using me for my limitless supply of Coke."
"Of course, didn't you know that?" Jamie asked with a laugh. She was kidding of course, but it was fun to joke with him like this. She took the glass and poured herself some coke. "So, what have you been up to, anyway?"
"Mostly practicing my passes. I wanna make a GOOD impression when I get to school in the fall, you know?" Yeah, he'd gotten a full football scholarship to Miami, which, while it would make their relationship a bit strained, he was willing to work through.
She was willing to work with it as well. She was going to finish her senior year and then hopefully follow him, as long as they were still together, of course. "You're totally going to impress them," Jamie said to him. "You shouldn't even worry about that.
"Not really WORRIED as much as just... eager." Was he a teensy bit cocky about his ability as a QB? Well, yes. But it was true. He WAS good. "Right now... I think I'm more concerned with impressing YOU." He said slyly, moving a little closer to her, resting a hand on one of hers.
She laughed. "I'm already thoroughly impressed, silly," she said to him. She was dating a star quarterback, you know. She reached over and squeezed his hand. Damn she enjoyed being around him like this.
"You know... I don't mean this to sound as lame as it's going to... but we've been going out since right before prom, and I don't know about you, but personally? I haven't seen anyone else." This was the unintentionally charming part of Jason: he was a handsome, wealthy jock... but had the heart of an old-fashioned soul at times. "I know we've been talking about seeing each other even when we both start school, but... I just want to make sure we're on the same page here: is it cool that I think of you as my girlfriend now?{"
"Well, I was kind of assuming at some point that yeah, I am your girlfriend," Jamie pointed out. OK, so they'd never had the 'let's be official' discussion, but after Prom and everything, she had kind of just assumed that they were dating. Which of course meant that they needed to have the 'I fight evil creatures of the night' talk soon, but did it have to be NOW?
"Just checkin'. My last two relationships both... didn't quite go where I was hoping, so I figured this time it was best to ask things as I think of them." Between Camille being, well, a bitch, and Cassie being too... gushy and worship-y of him... neither felt like a great fit. Somehow... something about Jaime just felt RIGHT.
Jamie just grinned. "Yeah, that's a nice way of putting it," she told him. She had nothing against Cassie, although she was admittedly happy that it didn't work out for HER sake, but Camille was just a flaming bitch monster.
Knowing now that at least they were on the same page, he gave her a quirky little grin, tilting his head and leaning in to give her a sweet, but long, kiss on the lips.
So, Jamie was still a teeny bit spazy around boys and kissing. She actually jumped a tiny bit when Jason kissed her, not expecting it, but she did manage to actually kiss back after a moment.
Now, seriously, how cute was that? He moved just a little, to whisper softly in her ear. "Hey... calm down. Just a kiss. I'm not trying to force anything on you here..." Yeah, like he COULD, right? HAH!
No, he couldn't, but has he figured that out yet? "No, I'm OK," she told him. "I'm just...well, I really haven't DONE anything with anyone before, you know?"
"Hey, nothing wrong with that. And like I said... there's no rush, ok? I want this to LAST. So... we have plenty of time for everything." Ah, was maturity finally catching up to the boy? Thank god.
She nodded, smiling up at him. "I know there's no rush," she said to him, before sitting up a little and kissing him again. OK, no rush, but she DID want to at least be comfortable kissing him, OK?
"I think we can make this work, Jamie. More importantly... I really WANT to make this work.." He said softly as he leaned his forehead against hers.
"I do, too," she said to him, looking up at him with wide eyes. "I really want to make this work." She didn't want to have this blow up in her face again. Of course, she had a good start by picking one that wasn't a vampire, for starters.
