Encouraging Her Isn't a Good Idea
Who: Mercy and Lena
Where: Eden
When: Friday Night, June 9th
Out in an effort to *not* completely cloister herself off from the world tonight, Lena had made her way down to Eden and down to it's sub level so that she wouldn't have to deal with the weird humans who liked to hang out in the above levels. She was sipping at a drink that was apparently made of a rather nasty murderer and some red wine. That idiot movie did have it right, evil doers *did* taste better. She was relaxing on one of the nice sofas that Lilith had been so nice to place down here and enjoying her night out.
As was usually the case, the vampire who now called herself Mercy was flitting about through the sub-level, looking for anyone who might be getting out of hand, or needing to be kicked the fuck to the curb. The gothy beauty loved violence, actually, and REVELED in being able to rough up the occasional demon, warlock, lycan, or even vampire who lost their temper in her sire's club. But tonight? Everyone seemed on their best behavior. Meaning? The pale woman had a deep, almost adorable frown on her face as she walked around.
Lena was at least moderately familiar with Mercy. The woman's reputation certainly proceeded her. Someone who at least looked for someone to beat the crap out of all the time. So, about the best person in the city for a job such as hers. "Everyone acting good tonight, Mercy?" she asked.
"Unfortunately, yeah." Lena was one of the vamps Mercy generally had quite a bit of respect for. She'd been around for ages, wasn't just some neophyte shit that thought they knew everything, "Just one reason. ONE REASON to tear someone's throat out. S'alllll I need, girl." Mercy, unlike Lena and a few others in the area, really didn't WANT to be good. She was doing so purely and solely out of respect for Lilith, her beloved sire.
Lena was trying to at least be neutral because, well, being evil had worked out *so* well, you know. "I'm sure some new kid will walk in here thinking he knows everything soon enough and you'll be able to take your aggression out on him."
OH did that shitty little lopsided grin appear then. "The other night, some loser newb came in, thinkin' he was all that, and picked a fight with that skinny little Chovrak demon that always hangs out by the bar. I had a LOT of fun with that one, lemme tell you. He was begging for death by the time I finally dusted him."
Lena chuckled. OK, so she still liked violence. She was just mostly abstaining from it at the moment. Mostly, anyway. She had fed on a guy who was trying to...have his way with a girl at knife point in an alley the other night and that had been oh so fun for her. You can really only reform so much, after all. "I'm sure you did have lots of fun with that," Lena said to her. "Give it time. Someone will show up and show their ass."
It was hard to believe, looking at her, hearing her talk, that Mercy had once been a shy, timid nurse during the Civil War. Yeah. Let that one sink in for a while. "Where's that hunk you used to always come in here with? The one with those too-sexy-to-not-be-evil eyes?"
And Lena had been a quiet and obedient servant girl in Renaissance Italy. We all have backgrounds. She rolled her eyes at Mercy's question. "He ran off to parts unknown. I hope he's dust in the wind." A little bitter? Maybe, but he hadn't even bothered to leave a note. He'd better be dead because, if she found him at this point, she'd tear him in half for upsetting her.
"Shame. He was a hot one." The enforcer laughed, looking at Lena with a suddenly raised eyebrow. "Alright then... I'll bite: who is it now? Because I know there's SOMEONE in your un-life. For a vampire, you're practically GLOWING."
She snorted. "I wasn't aware that I was able to glow," she said with a grin. "Fine, there's someone. A vampire by the name of Devon, actually. I've actually been enjoying his company a lot lately." And he was able to make her wish death on Luke, which was nice.
".....Shut the fuck up." Mercy said with a snicker. Hey... she wasn't trying to be a bitch here... it was just who she was. "You slummin' it now or something? I mean, nice enough looking guy, but he's got to be the biggest damn do-gooder I've ever seen with a pair of fangs!"
"If you knew what he was capable of in bed, you wouldn't be dissing him so much," Lena said with a smirk. OK, she had been attracted to him before that, but that had certainly helped 'seal the deal' for her. "I don't consider it slumming at all."
"I just need someone that has... more of a love of chaos. Of violence." Because that's what we all look for, of course. Hard to believe this girl was once a quiet, skittish nurse. "I wish Lilith would come out a little more... I'm worried about her." Mercy growled there, a little frustrated. Her sire was honestly and sincerely the only person in the world that she was really... protective of.
"Then I am sure that you will find him...or her, whomever," Lena said with a smile. "And I am sure that Lilith is fine. She's probably just busy with the running of this club." The one club that Lena could really stand to be in. Imagine her in Avarice...no really. Just try it. Just makes your mind explode thinking about it, huh?
"I've been considering siring someone." Mercy said with a smirk, like she was talking about maybe buying a new purse. "I'm over 200 years old, and I've never sired anyone. I should talk to Lilith... see if she minds me adding someone to our little family."
"You'd have to find someone worthy enough of being around forever," Lena pointed out. "Don't waist your first chance on the first pretty thing that comes along." It had been done by plenty of vampires in the past, after all. "Make sure it's someone you won't mind having around for eternity."
"True. Although I've considered finding and turning Rick Astley." Then, after a beat. "Pure evil, that would be. Making sure he was able to torment the human race with 'Together Forever' for hundreds and hundreds of years."
That actually made Lena laugh. Oh, she had done some research into human popular culture recently. It happened after Damon caught her off guard with a reference to an old science fiction movie. "That would be pure evil. Someone would probably find a way to kill him, though." She paused for a moment and then said. "Make him your second. You should save the first for something special."
"I really can't believe the change in you, girlfriend." Mercy said with almost a snicker. "You always had a wicked streak, but kinda stood there all quiet and stoic while your man did most of the talking. Now you're all... talkative and almost ALIVE. I'd envy it a little if I didn't enjoy being such a coldhearted bitch."
"It's hard to speak when an ego sucks up all the air in the room," Lena said with a smirk. "And you're perfect as a coldhearted bitch. I certainly don't want you to ever change." She actually kind of liked being around Mercy, after all.
"I am kind of perfect, aren't I?" She said with a sneer and a dark laugh. "Well... I should get back to work. I'm not being nearly menacing enough tonight. I may need to break an arm or two just for dramatic effect."
Lena laughed. "I'm sure you'll find someone to break before the night is done," she said to Mercy. "You know the new ones will always come in and make a spectacle of themselves."
Mercy shot her a wink and laughed. "See you around, Lena. Don't be a stranger."
