Havin' Some Baby Time
Who: Pat and Patience
Where: The McConnell house
When: Friday, July 9th
So, did Pat feel like an ass right now? Well DUH. The way he had to spring the whole demon-thing on Patience was NOT how he wanted to do it. But he hadn't expected her to go into labor so early... he thought he had time to sit her down and discuss the pros and cons with her. Luckily, it all had gone well, and thanks to LAGH having several doctors dedicated to treating supernatural cases, he was able to get the baby taken care of without having to make up reasons why Patience was already looking all healthy and normal. The baby was fine, and seemed to have... some sort of healing effect to it, as despite having been born a bit prematurely, it was already healthy and 'normal'. As the new parents sat at home, Patience curled up on couch with Pat as they took turns holding the baby, he gave her a cute little wince and finally spoke. "So... you swear, absolutely SWEAR, that you understand why everything went down like it did? I know, you've already told me a thousand times, but seriously. I had it all planned better than this."
"I understand," she murmured, keeping her voice low to keep from waking the sleeping baby in her arms. For all the worrying that she’d been doing about actually taking care of him, she seemed to be doing well so far. She was holding him correctly and hadn’t snapped once. ...That’d likely change when the kid wasn’t sleeping, but... she was doing well so far. "You’re still not gettin’ any for a while though."
"...how long we talkin'?" He asked, in that playful tone he knew she loved. "I mean... you ARE all healthy now. And apparently strong as hell now. Which is kind of a turn-on."
She pretended to consider that, "... Can’t say for sure. You’re just gonna have to suck it up. Or well, just suck up to me until I deem otherwise." Oh. The bitch.
"Like I mind that." He sighed happily, feeling his arms almost instinctively wrap around her midsection. "And so you know... we joke about it, but... I don't care WHAT you are now. No matter what, you're still the woman I love. The woman I'd die for."
"Damn fucking right," she replied, wincing a little at swearing in front of the baby. She really didn’t want to do that. Honestly. "Although that’s got me worried about something... "
"What's that?" He asked, his mind automatically racing with fear as, face it... there were a LOT of changes.
"Should we have the baby Christened? Seriously? What if the Priest has to go ‘the power of Christ compels you’ on him?" Okay, so she was joking. The little smirk on her face could attest to that.
"Oh my GOD." He laughed, almost facepalming. "Only you... and I think that's why we had to wait until AFTER you gave birth. To avoid any Damien-ness." Damien-ness? Really?
She giggled and kissed the underside of his jaw. "Makes sense," she purred, before lifting baby Cash slightly and breathing him in. God, he smelled wonderful.
"We're... sorta unconventional, but I think we're gonna make great parents. The rock star dad and the fang-y, foulmouthed mom." He laughed sweetly, looking at the baby. "Lucky kid... he's got your eyes."
"And with any luck, my sparkling personality, too," she replied, nuzzling into Pat a little. "And we already know where he’s gonna take after his daddy."
Oh my sweet lord... did Pat just blush? I believe he did, ladies and gents. "Ok, ok..." he muttered, kissing the back of her neck. "So... when do we introduce the little guy to his Godmother?" He asked with an almost amused grin. Come on... like this DIDN'T have comedy gold written all over it.
"Hrrrrmh, as soon as she comes up for air?" Meee-OW. While Patience loved Gwen and wanted her to be happy, the catty part of her was seriously unhappy that they hardly spent any time together because of her relationship with Blake.
"Hey now..." Pat tried to intervene a little there, catching that tone. "Be nice. Remember when you first came back? And you and I barely left the bedroom for like a month? Let Gwen enjoy a little bit of that excitement."
"I know, I know," she murmured. "Can’t help it, though. She’s my best friend and I love her and ... I swear to God if Blake hurts her, Bale or not, bitch is getting her ass KICKED".
"Well, I guess you can do it now..." He laughed, realizing that OH MY GOD he might wanna warn Skylar.
"Please. Like I wouldn’t have done it before," she rolled her eyes at him. Seriously. She’d always been a bit... violent if someone she loved was hurt.
"I love you, Patience. Thank you SO much for just... not leaving me again." He knew that made no sense really, to thank her for that... but he still had to say it. She had well and truly become his entire world.
"You’re welcome," she replied with that snarky little grin of hers. She tilted her head to give him a proper kiss on the lips and sighed. Finally... feeling content with the world and her place in it.
