Not Wanting To Let Go Who: Meeghan and Bastian Where: The Beach When: Morning - June 30
"I'm glad you agreed to meet me." Meeghan said softly when she caught sight of Bastian approaching their agreed upon meeting place. The singer had half expected the blond o stand her up, and truthfully she wouldn't have blamed the girl if she had done just that. But seeing Bastian there in the flesh made Meeghan glad she had come, damn if the leggy blond didn't look more beautiful then the last time they had spent some actual time together.
"I doubt I could ever say 'no' to you," Bastian admitted with a shrug, although she didn't smile or express any emotion as she usually did with Meeghan. If anything, she seemed… detached, as she usually did around people. She leaned back against the beach railing and shoved her hands into her pockets, raising an eyebrow at the singer.
Meeghan gave a slight smile at that. "You wanna walk a bit?" Meegs asked as it might make things less awkward if they were moving rather then just standing still staring at each other while trying to get into a conversation.
"Sure," Bastian nodded, before kicking herself up and walking at a slow pace. "I, uh… I don’t know what to say," she admitted, before rubbing her thumb and forefinger across her closed eyelids, clearly the last few days had been hell on the blond. She was just… drained, both physically and emotionally.
Meeghan just gave a light nod to her response before she started walking. "What did your mother tell you?" It was probably best to start off that way before attempting to try and define just what had gone on between herself and Neely.
Bastian had always been careful when it came to expressing what she had to say. Well, unless it was to Meeghan, funnily enough, but for once she was back to her 'normal' self. Which meant… "She said that you were the first friend that she made here, and that… she’d always been terribly attracted to you. That she'd… fucked you," she cringed slightly at the wording there, "And that she 'faltered' with you. I'm guessing she… did something she wasn't proud of. I didn't ask. I don't think any woman wants to know about her mother's sex life. Maybe she was hoping for that," she added, glancing up briefly to meet Meeghan's eyes.
"She did." Meeghan said in response catching the other girl's gaze. "And I paid the consequences of her actions." The singer added before glancing away from Bastian as they continued their walk.
"She didn’t seem happy about it," Bastian murmured. Not that she was condoning her mother’s actions, mind you. "I don’t want to think about it," she added, before bringing a hand up to rub against her arm.
"I'm sorry you got caught in the crossfire." Meeghan found herself saying after a brief moment of silence. "What happened between me, Neely and Rachelle wasn't your fault and I shouldn't have taken things out on you." Bastian was a blameless party in this whole part of her past and she shouldn't have been treated the way she had been by Meeghan.
Bastian sighed and nodded slowly. This was the thing she had trouble with – expressing how she felt. "No, you shouldn't have," she said after a moment. "I can understand why you reacted that way, but… what you said … what you did was extremely hurtful, Meeghan."
"I'm trying to say I'm sorry here." The musician stopped then and turned to catch the blonde's eyes. This wasn't something she found anywhere near easy to do, and Meeghan was starting to regret declining Brandon's offer to intervene on her behalf. "When I found out who you were. I just felt like I was being pulled back into a bad place and I reacted badly to that. To you."
The blond started to get riled up there, interestingly enough. "Did I ever give you the impression that I was dastardly? Or was it in just in it to get into your pants? Or for my own amusement?" Her irises shimmered then, from icy blue to black. She sighed and lowered her head, steadying her breath, trying to remember logic here. "I'm not my mother's."
"No." Meeghan sighed combing her fingers through her hair. "No you're not your mother. You're... " Meeghan sighed again before continuing. "You're unlike anyone else I've ever met. And my earlier treatment of you was unfair and I wouldn't blame you if you chose to walk away here and now." Meeghan wasn't realizing that her breathe was being held until she heard a response from Bastian. Half of her was actually expecting the girl to turn and walk away, while the other half waited in anticipation to hear her say just the opposite.
"I don't want to," Bastian replied immediately, followed by a brief whine. This was just… far more emotion than she'd ever experienced. Or expressed. "I don't want to push you away. I really don't," she added. "Despite what you said… how you acted, you still bring something out in me. It would be stupid to just ignore that."
Meeghan smiled faintly, the young woman's eyes glistening as she took that short step toward Bastian. And then without a further word being spoken she slipped her hands within the blonde's golden mane and was soon kissing the girl with all the emotions that had been built up inside her overflowing in a display of tears. ""I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt you." The words murmured softly against tender tiers of the other girl's mouth.
Bastian moaned and placed her hands to Meeghan's hips, squeezing them between her fingers, before pressing her forehead against the other girl's. "Just… please don't do that again," she all but whimpered. "Please. I don't think I could take it if you did," she admitted.
"I promise." She breathed softly against the other girl's lips letting her forehead rest lightly against Bastian's a brief moment longer. "Besides, what would I do if I no longer had my very own live version of Tinkerbell." Meeghan grinned weakly finding less amusement in her words then she would have in a normal situation.
"Nothing productive, I'd imagine," Bastian murmured, briefly letting her cheeky smile emerge as she slipped her hands into Meeghan's back pockets. "A part of me wants to show you how much I missed you. Okay, that's a lie," she confessed, "I really want to show you how much I missed you."
"I've got nothing set for this afternoon." Meeghan informed the blond before kissing her once more. And really she couldn't think of a better way to spend that afternoon then within the confines of her bedroom with each showing the other how much they had missed each other over the short span of time that had passed.
"Perfect," Bastian purred, before pressing her lips to Meeghan's neck briefly. She realised, of course, that such a public setting wasn't appropriate for that and smiled. "Can we go to your place?"
Meeghan's eyes fluttered closed briefly with a soft moan when the singer felt those soft lips against her own flesh. "I'd like nothing better." A soft smile warming her face when Meeghan opened her eyes and sought the blonde's blue eyes.
Disengaging herself from Bastian, Meeghan took hold of the girl's hand to start leading the way to her apartment. Suddenly the short walk there seemed to turn out to be an endless one.
