Making a House Call
Who: Isabella and Rebecca (with a brief appearance by Sin)
Where: Rebecca's
When: Saturday, May 28th (I totally forgot to post. *blushes*)
It had been a while since Isabella had seen Rebecca, what with the whole daughter-from-the-future dilemma and sort-of-ex coming back to figure out what-was-what, not to mention finals (teaching and grading, thank you very much) and training Bethany when time permitted. The Watcher was, to use one word? Exhausted. Finally, however, things were starting to calm down and one woman that seemed to suffer more from this other than herself was poor Rebecca Stone, whom Isabella planned to make an unexpected visit to during the day. Clad in her usual jeans, white t-shirt and leather jacket, she knocked on the other woman's front door. For once? Fully prepared for whatever Rebecca's daughter, Sin, had to say. She just wanted something comfortable and… familiar after the last month or so that she'd had.
Indeed, Sin did open the door, all normal looking blonde hair for once, arms crossed over her small chest. "Well. Check this out. So, are you jerkin' my mom around or something? Not that seeing you two together doesn't give me The Squick, cuz it totally does, but she's HAPPY with you. So make up your frikkin' mind, lady. Ok?" She huffed, and stepped aside to grant the older woman access.
Isabella stepped inside and stuffed her hands into her pockets, looking for the exits out of habit. She shrugged and said: "I've been busy." Because yeah, explaining why you've been busy to your (was 'girlfriend' the word she wanted to use?) … girlfriend's daughter would only result in a black eye… for Isabella. "Is your mother home?"
"Just a warning, Delallo: I don't give a damn HOW tough you think you are or how important you are to Giles. I find out you're playing sweet with my mom and then gettin' more trim on the side? I will BEAT THE SHIT out of you. Get it? Got it? Good. MOMMMMM!" Sin called out, raising an eyebrow.
The Watcher just took it, clenching her jaw in irritation. She’d briefly thought that maybe… she and Meeghan… but meeting Josie had quashed that. The daughter that they'd had together in an alternate reality was bitter and guarded and genuinely liked her, here, sans Meeghan. She was a better person, and honestly felt as much being around Rebecca. "I'm not getting any 'trim'," she muttered.
Rebecca made her way in there, looking adorably beautiful in a yellow mini sundress and matching heels. Her face? Looked mortified as she saw the expression on Isa's face. "Cynthia? Go... Go find something to do. NOW."
Isabella looked down briefly and murmured: "Sometimes I don't have the best patience." When she looked back up, however, she couldn't help it but smile. Rebecca looked… well, lovely. "She just loves you, that's all. I can't fault her for that."
"I was wondering when I'd see you next..." The stunning blonde remarked with a bright smile. Note she said 'when' and not 'if'. "I missed you, as remarkably dull as that makes me sound."
"I don't think that makes you sound dull at all," Isabella replied, before meeting Rebecca half-way and kissing her, a much more… passionate kiss than they'd shared before. Clearly, she'd missed the other woman. "How have you been?"
"....." Rebecca had a reply there. For real. But that kiss? She hadn't been kissed like THAT since she'd been Cynthia's age. "I... I... wow."
Isabella hooked her hands around Rebecca's waist and smiled. A true, honest-to-God smile. Suddenly anything else that she'd been facing? Paled in comparison to this. "...I can take it back a notch, if you’d prefer," she murmured, vividly recalling their first conversation.
"Do I need to remind you of our conversation about cobwebs? No... No taking ANYTHING back any notches." Rebecca giggled with a blush.
"Ok, ok..." Sin snarked, walking back in for a moment. "I'm gonna go to Catherine's place and watch something vaguely less disgusting, like Faces of Death or something." She grumbled, mumbling to herself then. "...pitbull and poodle, I'm tellin' ya..."
Isabella's eyebrows shot up at Sin's last comment but she let it go, since that meant that she and Rebecca could be alone. "That might be a good idea," she murmured with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes sent in Becca's direction.
After an obligatory eye-roll, Sin left, and the moment the door slammed shut, Rebecca sighed and took Isabella's hands in hers. "Before we, I mean, I want to make sure... are we, I guess what I'm asking is, is this just some 'fun thing' to you? I'm not standing here asking for a lifelong commitment, but before we go further I at least want to make sure I'm the only one."
"You are," Isabella replied, keeping eye contact to show that she wasn’t lying and was absolutely serious here. "I admit, I briefly considered taking a step back but… thinking about it now, it seems foolish, because you're wonderful and I… like who I am around you. I'm not a 'Drill Sergeant' … I'm just… me. Or, a better version of me."
