PLEASE tell me you're not waiting for Benjamin
Who: Brenna and Brandon
Where: One of the Recording Studios at Full Moon Records
When: Morning - June 4th
Brenna was giving herself a self guided tour of Full Moon Records with only being stopped once in her wanderings by an oriental looking who she learned quite quickly was a Bale and a cousin. Bridget detained the teen for a brief moment while she checked in with Grant to verify the girl was a guest visitor of his. On her way again Brenna soon found herself in the section of the building where the studios were. With the first one she passed no being in use, Brenna stopped at the second when she found it occupied solely by one guy who seemed to be completely focused on writing. Keeping quiet the teen lingered with the open doorway just watching the man work with the wondering thought of would the song or songs he was working on be hits or not. And was the recording artist to be given the song(s) one she knew of in the future.
And as luck (fate?) would have it, the guy sitting in that studio was Brandon Bale. He'd had his head down, buried in a notebook as he wrote some lyrics that had suddenly come to him, before sitting back again, strummin a few chords out on his acoustic guitar. While he knew that typically, it wasn't the type of song Meeghan sang to, he just had a feeling about this, that together they could make this one... almost haunting.
"I know that song." Brenna spoke without really thinking about the words the spilled forth. Sure the guy had only played a few, brief cords, but the song they came from was instantly familiar to the teen. It had been a favorite of hers when she was younger.
"Huh?" Brandon jolted up a little, caught off-guard a bit, having been so deep in thought. "Seriously? Shit... There must be something that sounds like it already." He took a good look at her, trying to figure out why she seemed so familiar. Guests generally didn't just walk around this area without an escort, so... "You interning here or something?"
The teen smiled when Brandon looked her way. She recognized him instantly, though he looked somewhat younger now then he did in the future. "I meant I like that song." Brenna said trying to quickly recover from her slip. The teen was wanting to kick herself for revealing something that she knew from the future.
"That would be totally awesome." Brenna blurted out. "Unfortunately that isn't the case. I'm waiting for someone to finish record company business so he'll be free to do other things of another sort."
Oh MAN. He actually looked ANGRY there for a second. And anyone who knew the Bale family could figure out why if given a few minutes to think. Young, pretty girl? 'Waiting for someone to be free'? His immediate thought was that Ben was back to his old tricks again.
"Please. PLEASE tell me you're not waiting for Benjamin?"
"Benjamin?" The girl responded looking a bit perplexed before it hit her like a ton of bricks. "Oh! Un... no I'm not waiting for Benjamin. I'm waiting for Grant Kellerman. I'm his.. niece." Brenna couldn't really tell Brandon who she actually was, though she did get a bit of a kick out of him thinking she was there waiting for Benjamin, who she was known to affectionately call Uncle Bennie.
"Oh, really? Sorry about that then." Well. HE certainly looked embarrassed then. Still didn't explain why she looked so familiar. Maybe he'd seen a pic of her in Grant's office or something. "Don't get worried if he takes a while. He gets distracted like an ADHD kid or something, I swear." Extending his hand, he offered her a friendly smile, although, much like Catherine, it was apparent that if needed? There was a savage beast behind those eyes. "I'm Brandon."
"Brenna." Stepping forward into the studio the teen offered her own hand to the man. "And he really isn't that bad." She said in defense of her father. He might be kid-like at times, but he didn't get distracted from his work all that easily.
"Heh. That's kinda cool. My brother's name is Brennan, that's sort of simil..." he cut off there, paling a little. It all started to fall into place a little. The similar name to Brennan. The fact that she looked so familiar, and the sudden realization of WHO she looked like. And she was looking for GRANT. And... face it... there was a pink-haired girl back at his place who proved this was all possible.
"Oh... oh get the HELL OUT OF HERE." And then? He LAUGHED. HARD. "Bronte??? BRONTE had a kid? Really???"
"And why is that so hard to believe?" Brenna crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at Brandon having gone on the defensive. "I find absolutely nothing amusing about that. In fact it's quite insulting to myself and my mother."
"No. Nonono. No offense is meant here... it's just..." Hm. How to explain this nicely, hm? "Maybe things are different where you're from, but HERE? Half the time Bronte looks more ready to light Grant on fire and throw him out a seventeen-story WINDOW than have KIDS with him...."
"Well, that just shows how much you know about my mother. And that song you were playing, it's going to be a major hit." Brenna informed Brandon, though the teen knew better then to have done that. She then turned to leave not wanting to hear anymore about how impossible a thought it was that her mother actually had a child.
"Um... thanks?" He said, blinking. He really would NEVER get used to this time-travel crap. "And if ya think I'm frustrating, wait till you re-meet Baily." Heh. Really, did Brandon OR Baily have a hobby they liked more than picking on the other relentlessly?
"Well," the teen glanced back over her shoulder at the guy with the none-to-friendly look that her mother wore so well, "if she's anything like you in the here and now I'm sure she's a blast at parties." The teen's words dripping with sarcasm before she looked forward once more and paraded herself right out of the studio.
