Buffy groaned inwardly. She wished that she had thought to do something decent like comb her hair or something before coming here now, but she wasn't exactly expecting to meet cute boys at this time of night! "Couldn't sleep, so I went out for a walk. What are you doing out?"
"Simply put? I got too caught up working on my bike, and forgot to do my homework. By the time I got done about a half hour ago, I was too wired to go to sleep." He chuckled, shrugging. "Nothing exciting, unfortunately."
"Yeah, me neither," Buffy said. Yeah, big fat lie there. Way to go, Buffy. "You have a bike? What kind?" Her dad had started going through that midlife crisis thing, and had done nothing but talk about bikes lately when she was with him, so she was actually learning a little about them.
"It was a crappy, beat-down Harley from the mid-80s when I found it, but now I've got it fixed up pretty good. I just like to keep adding things to it." H wondered privately if she was legitimately interested or just making small talk. "You new around here? I don't remember seeing you until recently."
"Oh, my dad recently bought a 1954 Harley Davidson Hummer from the son of some old biker to restore," Buffy said to him. Well, at least now they kind of had something in common, right? "I just moved here from Sunnydale, so I'm still new."
He was impressed, not that he'd admit it. Not about her motorcycle knowledge... more of the fact that she seemed nice, and not bitchy like most of the pretty blonds at school. "Well, if you'd like, we could go for a ride sometime. It'd be nice to have another person around here that I can stand being around."
Well, she got the bitch turned on her enough after finding out about her Slayer-y-ness that she just couldn't put forth the effort to be a bitch anymore. "That sounds like a lot of fun, actually."
"Great!" He blinked for a moment, looking around the mostly-empty restaurant. "I'd offer to take you home or something, but I walked here."
