Even Slayers Get The Blues
Who: Deanna and Kayla
Where: Deanna's
When: Thursday, May 13th (Shh)
Kayla had finished school for the day, a little earlier than usual given that her last class was cancelled and made her way to Deanna's in a... well, in a bit of a pouty mood, which she hadn't been in for quite some time. She walked in, clad in high waisted jeans and a low-cut t-shirt, and looked for Deanna, her lower lip jutted in a pout. "Where's my Dee?" She murmured. "I require snuggles."
Meanwhile, Deanna had been, well.. packing for work. Which looked fairly hilarious, as, while she was currently dressed in a white tanktop and baggy pink sweatpants with her hair in a simple ponytail, she was packing several of the sluttiest, trampiest outfits known to man into a medium-sized dark blue duffle bag. She blushed a little, with a cute smile, when she heard Kayla. "She's in here, baby!"
The Slayer toed off her shoes and followed the sound of Deanna's voice, smiling faintly at the sight of the blonde, before wrapping her arms around her and smooching her neck. "You're in a good mood," she murmured.
Dee grinned and just... hugged her tightly, not a single, remotely sexual thing about it. In fact? It was just a loving, adorable snuggle. "I am, actually. I guess I just had one of those moments where I realized again how lucky I am to have you."
D'aw. Even now, little things like that still made Kayla blush. She joined her hands together at the small of Deanna's back and glanced at the duffle bag. That pout of hers coming back in full force. "When do you have to go to work?"
"Gotta leave in about 45 minutes, sadly." She sighed, jutting that bottom lip out. "Still... Ben and Meredith got me a gig tonight spending the whole evening with a HUGE bachelor party, cuz they know it'll get me LOTS of cash."
"That's good, baby," Kayla murmured, clinging to Dee a little tighter then. God, she hated how moody she was today. She wondered briefly if her girlfriend had ever seen her in one of her funks, only to realise that she really hadn't.
"Honey? What's wrong? You seem..." she didn't want to say 'wrong', so she quickly thought of a new word. "Different today. Talk to me?"
Kayla sighed. Her first instinct was to say something cute or brush off Deanna's concern, but… it was Deanna. She deserved better than that. "I never really told you, but… I have bad days, sometimes." Notice the plural. "Not since I met you, but…" She shrugged and looked away.
"Bad? As in....?" She inquired, tilting her head a little. Dee wasn't dumb, but... she wasn't always horribly intelligent either. "Like... depression? Can I do anything to help, baby?"
Kayla hated how vulnerable she felt in that moment. How weak. She wanted to hit something … which, given that she was a non-violent person, spoke on many levels. "Just... I'm going to be extra clingy the next few days, or, y'know, not want to get out of bed for a while, but don't... don't worry, okay? Just keep being your gorgeous self and it'll be roses in a few days."
"And I'll be RIGHT THERE with you. I promise." She meant it, too. She knew DAMN well Meredith would switch the schedule around for her, come hell or high water. "I won't leave you for a moment. You can just hold me, cry, whatever you need."
Kayla hadn't expected that, which was evident given the expression on her face. She blinked, "You'd... you'd do that?"
Dee just gawked at the slayer as if she had sprouted a second head. "....you're my girl! Of course I would!" Aww. "I'd do anything for you, Kayla. Anything."
"I love you," Kayla murmured, clinging to Dee (although careful not to put too much strength into it, since hey! Slayer, here!).
"Love you too, baby. Seriously... I'll ALWAYS be here for you. No matter if you get all mopey, angry, sad... ANYTHING. You're my girl, and that's all that matters." Jeez. Was Deanna possibly the sweetest person alive?
Kayla was just thinking how lucky she was to have Dee, she really was. She kissed Deanna then, putting as much love and affection into it as she possibly could. "You won't ever get sick of me?"
"Sick of you?" She asked, incredulously, again as if the girl had developed a second head. "How can I get sick of you? You're like... the sexiest, coolest, most fun person I KNOW, baby!"
Kayla sighed again. Clearly that would always be a concern of hers. That Deanna would tire of her and look somewhere else. She did let out a throaty chuckle, however briefly. "I'm sorry to spring this on you."
"Pssssssh. Come on.. like I'M perfect? I'm an airhead, have no real talent outside of taking my clothes off to music, and I'm prone to being overly emotional." She gave a sweet shrug there, kissing Kayla cutely on the lips. "So you get depressed. We'll get through it together. With kisses, hugs, and lotsa sex."
