New SFA Fighter?
Who: Charmaine and Jarrod
Where: Alley Outside of a club
When: May 5th, Wednesday Night
Charmaine Lamare had been watching this boy for months. And now, thanks to a vampire, he would always stay a pretty boy. Tonight, he seemed to find it fun to pick fights with demons in some alley. Of course, she had just the place for him to do just that, and make money while he was at it. Right now, though, she would watch as he finished off his little bit of 'fun.'
You could say Jarrod had been pissed off lately. But that would be a horrid understatement. Since word of his... one-nighter with Ariana had gotten out, Scarlett had freaked out and left, leaving no word of where she'd gone. And that? Did NOT sit well with the neophyte vamp. Considering the fighting skills he'd had as a human? He was practically a war machine now. And he was taking out his frustrations on anything that moved. He'd been leaving a small club when he heard a scuffle in that alley, and saved the woman who'd been being attacked. Not for any heroic reason... but because he wanted to kick something's ass. Badly. Unfortunately, despite the almost seven-foot frame of the large creature, Jarrod handled it easily, finally slipping behind it and snapping it's neck with one fluid, brutal twist. The demon hit the ground with a thud, as Jarrod sneered down at it, obviously still wound up.
Charmaine would have clapped if it hadn't been cheesy. "Someone's a bit wound up," she said, looking him over. Her French accent, while thick, was still understandable. "Looks as if someone needs to find a good place to unwind."
He could smell her as she approached. Human. Hrm. "Looks like someone's got a death wish if she doesn't leave now. Consider me one of the nicer ones. Most won't give you the chance to run."
A nine foot troll with almost foot high horns stepped up behind her. "I wouldn't suggest that," Charmaine she said to him. "I'm sure that you could put up a good fight against Kjell here, but he's every bit as well trained as you are, if not more so." She smiled at him. "I've been watching you for a while now."
He felt a brow rise almost unwillingly as he saw that huge... thing walk up alongside her. He was willing to take her at her word this time. "Unless you and him are that eager to find out for sure.... what exactly do you want with me?"
"Well, I sort of do want to find out," she said. "Maybe not with him, but I think I have a proposition that you might like." She walked closer to him, seemingly completely unafraid of him. Maybe she just had that much faith in Kjell. Who knew? "You want to hear it?"
"Well..." He WAS interested, at this point... but no way was he not going to play it cool here. "Seeing as my... sparring partner isn't getting up anytime soon, I suppose I have the time."
"I run a fighting league for vampires, demons, all sorts of people that you won't see on WWE but certainly put on a much better show than anything you'll see there," she said. "I first noticed you while you were still human. Couldn't use you then." Just her luck that someone happened to pluck him from the coil of humanity, huh? "Now I can, if you're willing."
"You're... telling me I can beat the shit out of people and things that might put up a decent fight... and get paid for it?" This seemed too good to be true... he thought his dreams of fighting professionally had died with his mortal self. "Tell me more."
"You sound amazed," Charmaine said. "Did you really think that nothing of the sort existed for vampires and demons?" She smiled. "Everything has it's counterpart." She was even thinking of buying a demonic bordello, actually, but that was another story for another time. "We have either regulation matches or death matches. You get a paycheck every week, plus a bonus for every fight you win. Of course, death matches pay more than the regulation ones, but that's just obvious."
"Death matches..." OH hell yes did he like the sound of this. "I have a few questions. First... what are the contracts like? I'm not signing my freedom or my will away to anyone."
"No, nothing like that," she said. "I want my fighters to actually enjoy their lives when they're not fighting. It's a much more standard contract."
"Well. Second question, then..." He crossed his arms over his chest, keeping an eye on her.. companion. Damn if he didn't find himself curious about how this thing would fare against him. "Say I decide I want out. Is it that simple?"
"Sure, if you actually do," she said to him. "People who fight against their will do a terrible job of it. They aren't fun to watch, and they usually just get themselves killed. Not interesting at all." She looked him over. "Question is, would you really want to leave?"
"That'll depend on how I like your... operation." He replied quickly. "Then my last question..." He smirked, shooting the huge demon a look that practically screamed 'step off'. "Think the championship belt will look good on this gorgeous waist? Because it's gonna be there for a long, long time."
"I'm sure you'll love it," she said to him. "And I personally think it will look fantastic." She knew he'd bring in a few extra groupies who would buy any price of tickets just to see him fight. She definitely had a winner here. "How about we celebrate over a drink then? I know of a great place that apparently serves a great Virgin Bloody Mary that I'm sure is more up your alley." Emphasis on the 'virgin' if you catch the drift.
Yeah, he got the meaning. He looked her over, and started to laugh, genuinely amused. "You know... for a chick? You really got a huge set of balls, setting something like this up. Yeah. Let's go and drink. To the best damn business decision you'll ever make."
"I just happen to know what will make me the best amounts of money," she said to him with a grin. "And you're definitely a good investment. And I take care of my investments."
"Then let's go. We'll discuss how much richer we're BOTH going to be when this is allll said and done with." Heh. Too bad Scarlett wasn't around to see THIS.
