Airport Pickup
Who: Delilah and Jaide
Where: In a car on the way to Giles's from an airport
When: April 20th
Delilah drove to the airport, thinking about what she was doing. Giles had asked her to pick up Jaide from the airport, because he had something to do. She didn't know Jaide personally, but knew that she was supposed to be another Watcher, although she hadn't been assigned a slayer yet. She pulled up to the airport and looked outside to see if Jaide was outside yet.
At the moment Delilah pulled up alongside the curb outside the airport Jaide was just collecting her baggage, so it would be a few short moments before the blonde would emerge from the automatic sliding doors into the outdoors. Since she had been expecting Giles to be the one to pick her up, it was he who she looked for and not the one who had been sent in his place.
When Delilah spotted her, she emerged from the car. "Jaide?" she called out. "I'm Delilah. Mr. Giles sent me to pick you up."
At the calling out of her name Jaide turned to look in the direction from which the voice came. "Why am I not surprised." The stated words coming out with a soft smile playing at the edges of the blonde's mouth as she changed her direction and started walking toward Delilah. Leave it to Rupert Giles to get caught up in something Watcher oriented and send someone out in his stead.
It really wasn't that shocking that Giles had gotten caught up in something. The man was close to being a workaholic. "Would you like some help with your bags?" Delilah asked.
"If you could get the trunk open." Jaide smiled amicably to the other woman as she held a bag in each hand that was filled with her belongings from her time in England.
"Sure," Delilah said, popping open her trunk so that Jaide could put away her things. "So, where exactly am I taking you?" she asked.
"Sir Rupert Giles' place." Jaide informed the woman while she deposited her bags into the trunk of Delilah's car. Since her arrival in L.A. Jaide had been staying with the man and she was figuring she'd still be welcome at his place as she still had a set of keys to his house. And then there was the fact that he was her father, which made her decision to be taken to the man's home even more logical.
Delilah nodded. She had kind of figured it would be Giles's place, but she just wasn't sure and didn't want to presume. She started the car and started to drive toward his place. "So, did you have a good trip?"
"Wasn't bad as plane rides go." Jaide answered. The flight back to the States was void of any turbulence, which, for Jaide at least, was a plus. "Though being back there had me realizing just how much I miss the place."
"It's been a while since I've been back myself," Delilah admitted. Luckily for her, her parents has been away when the Council was hit last year. "I may have to visit soon myself."
"You should go when you get the chance." Jaide voiced to the other woman with a slight nod. Though L.A. was pretty much her home now, to Jaide there was no place better then London and the surrounding areas.
Delilah nodded. "When I get the chance I will do so," she said to Jaide. It sounded like a lovely idea: taking a holiday to England. Maybe in the summer she'll try that.
Jaide smiled at the woman's reply as she leaned back in the seat a bit to get herself into a more comfortable position for the remainder of the drive to Gile's place. General conversation followed until the vehicle was pulling up alongside the curb outside the older Watcher's residence.
Delilah pulled up to Giles's house. "Would you like some help with your bags or anything?" she asked as she put the car into park.
"No," Jaide smiled across the seat to Delilah as she eased the passenger side door open, "I think I can manage the bags just fine. I do appreciate the lift though."
Delilah nodded. "OK," she said. "Tell Giles I said hello as well."
"I will." Jaide told her before climbing out of the car. "You take care, Delilah." Jaide bent down slightly to lean back into the interior of the car to address the other woman before closing the door. The blonde haired hunter then walked to the back of the vehicle to reclaim her bags from the trunk of Delilah's car.
