Who: Ash and Eve
Where: Eden
When: Saturday Night, 4/24
Strangely, when the schedule had come out last week, Eve had been given Saturday night off. Not something that was normal, but Eve had decided to roll with it. She could use a snack, anyway, and sometimes, strangely, it could be hard to get her 'nourishment' at a strip club when they were trying to be strict with the 'no sex on the clock' rule. Sure, sometimes it was easy to get around it, especially if both Meredith and Ben weren't around (which happened about once every two weeks), but usually it was aggravating to try and get some on the clock. So, now that she had a night off when everyone went out, she was going to take full advantage of it.
Meredith and Lucy were out doing something or other tonight, and Neely was on her honeymoon with Rachelle. Which left Ash's closest circle out of commission. Ash smirked, wondering if maybe Mere and Lucy were somewhere right now, embarrassing the hell out of poor Cassie. Well, he walked quietly into Eden, his pure black suit and pale complexion making him fit right in. Walking up to the bar, he ordered a glass of soda and took a look around, fairly bored right now.
Ooh, jackpot. Eve walked over and sat down right beside Ash. "Well, look who decided to walk through the door and make my night more interesting," she said to him.
Ash just smirked, recognizing her immediately. "Well. Last time I saw you I was choking the hell out of you. Sorry about that, by the way."
"That wasn't all you were doing," she pointed out. "It's fine, though. I've had worse problems."
"Shame I couldn't enjoy it more..." He admitted, as he looked at her now, in a GOOD frame of mind, wow. She was one of the most gorgeous women he'd ever seen.
"You were sort of in a bad state," she agreed. "Heard you got your girlfriend back. Good for you." Not that a girlfriend had stopped her before.
"Thank you. What you don't understand is that she's not just my 'girlfriend'." He sighed, wondering why he was bothering trying to explain something to a demon that he hadn't bothered trying to explain to his best friends or even his sister yet. Maybe it was the fact that he suspected a supernatural being might understand. "What he have goes beyond love, or desire, or anything words can describe. She's a part of me on an almost spiritual level. She balances me. Not to go all Hollywood here, but she completes me."
Eve couldn't help but chuckle a little when he said that his girlfriend 'completed him.' "Sorry," she said. "I've never seen a man so in love with another person before
"She's a part of me. It's... almost symbiotic in a way." He reached over, placing a hand on her cheek. His next words? Were honestly more of a compliment than they sounded like. "Trust me... that's the only thing that keeps me away from you NOW."
"Then she must be very impressive," Eve said, also being honest. She knew she was no slouch in the hotness department. "If more men were like you I'd be out of business." Thankfully, they weren't.
"Luckily for you... Not many men, taken or not, could ever turn you down." Ash grinned, admittedly feeling that damnable pull between the two of them again that was clearly caused by a combination of mutual attraction AND mutual darkness. I mean together, these two were darker than the cast of Good Times. And no, before you say it aloud, the mun can't believe HE just wrote that either. "You're one of the sexiest, most desirable women I've ever met. And trust me..." He thought of Lucy and Mere for a moment, "that's saying a LOT."
"Only a few men or women have ever turned me down in my existence," she said back to him. Seemed to be happening more than a little lately. Maybe she was loosing her touch? Nah, that couldn't be it. Must be something about modern people. People used to be so much more willing to cheat on their spouses.
"I admit... even NOW it's damned hard to turn you down. Especially knowing... what you're like. " He gave her a wicked smirk, laughing a little. "But hey... I was a different person when we got together. A person on the verge of destroying himself and everything around him."
She smiled at him. "If you change your mind, give me a call," she said to him, pulling a business card out of her purse and handing it to him. "My personal number." She had liked it when he was dark. Didn't bother her at all, really.
He knew he'd never call... but hey, it couldn't hurt to have a possibly powerful demon on speed-dial, right? "I'll keep it handy."
She looked pleased that he took the card. "Good," she said to him. "So, now that you aren't out to destroy the world, what are you up to, other than loving your other half."
"Training a Slayer, which is proving to be very interesting..." He said, grinning at the thought of, truthfully, how much power he and Buffy had between them. If anyone ever TRULY pissed the two of them off? There would be literally hell to pay.
"Oh, so you're a Watcher as well?" That was certainly interesting. "So many of those around LA these days. Is there a reason as to why you're all around here?" Seemed like there had to be a reason for them all to stick around after the big battle last year.
"No offense, but if I knew I certainly wouldn't go blabbing it around. But I would venture to say that it's because of the sheer amount of demonic activity that ALSO remains here." He replied with an even tone to his voice.
"Fair enough," she said with a nod. She could understand that. "Demonic activity is high wherever there is a large city. It's easier for them...well, us to blend in when there are more people about."
"Do yourself a favor..." He said with a friendly yet sinister warning tone. "Don't get involved. I'd hate to see you get your pretty self destroyed."
"I have no intention of getting involved with that stuff," Eve said simply to him. "I have my own agenda. I don't even steal the souls of people I'm with, even though I easily could."
"Well then... if you're not hurting anyone... the best thing I can say is... keep it up. Because Eve... feel free to pass this on to any demons or vampires you might know..." His eyes flashed bright red then, his voice going to a low rumble. "I'm done watching people I care about be hurt or killed. From this point forward... I will destroy anyone I perceive as a threat with extreme prejudice."
She nodded again. "I actually like humanity," she admitted to him. "Don't let that get out, but I do. You're interesting, as a species. I certainly see no reason for trying to destroy the lot of you, anyway. I'll let anyone who wants to start something know about you, though."
"Good." He stood, turning to walk away, giving her a grin one could call either charming... or slightly creepy. "Because I'd hate to see something have to happen to you."
