An Interesting Night at Eden
Who: Ginny and Lilly
Where: Eden
When: Monday Night, 3/22
It was a more... quiet night at Eden. Which meant, loud as ever music, just with less of a throng of people. At least here, Ginny felt like she could hang out, be herself, and not be bothered by anyone, as most of the regulars knew her by now. Tonight she wore a black latex dress that flattered her curves and showed off her cleavage, and as she usually wore, elbow-length black gloves, mostly to hide her scars.
Lilly walked into Eden, mainly just wanting a night off from everything. Things had picked up quickly with band business, even with a small tour. Of course, that was before Lucy's murder, and now none of them were exactly sure what was going to happen next. So, a night out on the town sounded like as good as of an idea as any to Lilly. When she saw Ginny, she headed over to her. "Hey," she said, sitting down next to her. "Mind if I join?"
"Like I'd ever mind?" Ginny replied sweetly with that little whisper of a voice. Again... for a woman who when she wanted could scream like a monster? Her speaking voice was kind of hilarious. "Have a seat, honey. How are you?"
"I'm doing pretty good, actually," Lilly said, sitting with her. She had even made up with Paige, although she didn't mention that to Ginny. Still, it was a weight off of her shoulder. "How are you doing?"
"Better. I'd been worried sick about Lexi, but she's.... holding up. I'd been so terrified of her relapsing, but she's been strong. She's devastated... but she's standing tall. I'm proud of her." She still beamed with pride anytime she mentioned the other girl.
"I'm glad to hear that," Lilly said to her. She needed to talk with Lexi one of these days. Actually try to get to know the woman. It would at least do good to know her lead singer's girlfriend past just name and face, after all.
"I think you guys would get along well, actually. You have a lot in common. Except that Lexi actually speaks without physical prodding." She grinned cutely, sticking her tongue out at her drummer.
A small smile came across Lilly's face. "Well, occasionally I speak completely on my own." Not typically to strangers, though. Her basically approaching Stephanie that one time in the coffee shop had been sort of out of character for her.
"It's been known to happen. On occasion." Ginny giggled and reached over to pat her friend on the hand sweetly. Obviously, she was only kidding. "So what else has been going on? Other than practice, I've barely had time to really talk to you lately! Fill me in!"
"Not too much," Lilly said to her. "Keeping up with my drumming, hanging out with Stephanie when I can, things like that. What about you?"
"Mostly trying to finish the few songs I'd started working on while making sure I'm there if Lexi needs me. Because I know she's too proud to ever ASK, you know?" And she needed to know if the guitarist ever needed ANYTHING, that was was right there.
Lilly nodded. She could understand not wanting to ask for help. Lilly herself hated to do so as well. It actually drove her up the wall to admit any sort of weakness. Still, she also realized that there were times when you HAD to have help, like what Lexi was going through now. "What songs are you working on?"
"Just trying to see if any of the lyrics I wrote a while back that never got put to music fit with any of the riffs Steff's come up with. So far not so much, but you never know..." Sure, the songs for the album were done, but Ginny always loved coming up with new stuff.
Lilly smiled. "I bet that she's coming up with some good stuff, too," she said about Steff. She had heard some of the things that Steff had come up with on her own, and it was all good stuff.
"VERY good. I think even Lexi's shocked by how quickly your girl's improving, hun." She couldn't help but wonder if some nights, if Steff just didn't bother going to sleep and practiced ALL NIGHT.
Thing was, Steff probably did stay up and practice all night long sometimes. The girl seemed to run purely on sugar and coffee. "She's got the makings of a great."
Ginny just grinned, as really... this was practically Lilly's version of gushing. "Paige ever try to get in touch with you again?"
Lilly nodded. "It's weird, talking to her, at least it was at first. What about you? She try talking to you at all?"
"Not yet. Lexi said she knew I'd be the toughest one. And she's right." Ginny no longer hated Paige... but the thought of all the crap she'd put Lexi and herself through? Ginny was WAY too good at holding grudges to let THAT go so soon.
Lilly nodded. "I can understand not wanting to talk to her. I pointed a shotgun at her when she first came to my door." For everything that she had done to Ginny and Lexi, Lilly had gotten betrayed on another level that they really hadn't. Still, that wasn't something that she really wanted to talk about. "She really has changed, though. That much I can say for her."
Ginny felt her lips curl into a sarcastic grin. "Well, face it: whatever the hell she is now, it can't be WORSE than she was in those last few months as a living human being. I mean... she saved my life a couple years ago, Lil. But... she knew how much I cared about Lexi, about our BAND... and just crapped all over everything. And I wanna forgive her. But it's really hard for me to let things go."
"It was for me, too," Lilly admitted. "She wasn't always like that, though. Something about LA sort of rotted her from the inside. I'm just praying that she's learned her lesson and that it won't happen again." And she actually was praying about it, thank you. Showed how much she actually cared about the bitch.
"I think what's got me worried is how close she's gotten to Lexi. They're almost BUDDIES now. And I swear to GOD if she ends up letting Lexi down or hurting her in any way... I don't care what she did for me in the past, Lil... I will find a way to destroy her." Yowza! Obviously, Lexi brought out the protective instincts in the girl...
Lilly nodded. "She told the guitarist in her new back that, if she started to go bat shit again, to tell me to tell Stephanie to put her down like a rabid dog. So, at least she realizes that contingency plans are needed, just in case." She shrugged. "That's of course if I don't run her over with a truck and shoot her in the head myself if she goes nuts again."
Ginny just kind of laughed there. It always slipped her mind JUST how dangerous Stephanie could be if she wanted to. The girl was so bubbly and sweet that it was easy to forget. "I still think the two of you are about the LEAST likely couple I've ever seen."
"Because she's bubbly and I'm, well, not at all?" Lilly asked. "She makes me want to be a little more social toward people. The first time I tried was with her, and look what it got me." Lilly smiled.
"Check you out, girl... all smilin'...." Ginny giggled and smiled sweetly. She loved seeing Lil, well... HAPPY. "Things have a way of working out. You just gotta force your way through the shit first. Paige told me that after I slit my wrists... and I've never forgotten those words."
"Well, apparently she was good for advice, at least," Lilly said about that. "Still good at times. I think she finally got a good head on her shoulders."
"She used to when I first met her... before she got so wrapped up in herself." Ginny looked almost longing there, giving that adorable little pout that involuntarily showed up whenever she was frustrated. "I just hope she can stay... right this time."
"Don't we all?" Lilly said. She did not look forward to another rampage by Paige, thank you, especially now that she could basically eat a bitch.
"I'm just glad you guys patched things up. She's the only person I've ever seen you really... bond with." Seriously... Lilly seemed so... emotionless around almost all of them, to see how she had bonded with Paige was shocking in some ways.
Lilly nodded. She was glad, too. Sure, things couldn't quite be like they had been, but they were friends again, and that was something that Lilly was very glad about.
