So, What Colors Did You Pick?
Who: Lucy and Rachelle
Where: Chloe's Sugar Shack
When: Saturday Afternoon, 3/20
Lucy sipped at her Sugar Fairy Shooter as she waited for Rachelle to show up. They had agreed to meet and hang out, talk up some music stuff, and basically just make a day of chilling together. Well, as much as Lucy could really chill, anyway. She was still getting used to the fact that she was back alive, and had to keep herself from strangling people when she hugged them every time she saw them. OK, she could do that with Lexi, Chloe, Ash, and Kevin, but others, like Rachelle, didn't remember being gone, so it would come off as weird if she did anything different. She didn't want to arose suspicion or rock the boat or whatever, though. She sat at a table and spun a napkin holder on its side while she waited for her friend to get there, trying to keep herself entertained.
Finally, running juuust a little late, Rachelle came strolling in, cheeks a little flushed, relaxing in camo jeans shorts and a Chicago Bulls jersey, hair in pigtails and a backwards Metallica baseball cap. "Sorry, babe. I swear I was running on time, but then Neely kinda ambushed me coming outta the shower and one thing led to another and I don't need to be telling a sixteen year old this. Hi."
"Yeah, I'm sixteen, not twelve. My tiny little brain can handle the fact that you have sex, you know," she said with a giggle. She was developing the incessant urge to mess with people a little lately. Possibly due to bad influences? More than likely. "So, what's up?"
"If you're gettin' it on with that weirdo, I don't need to know it. I think I'll just think of you as sweet and virginal, thanks." She smirked, not really thinking of Lucy as the smart-ass type. Oh, how little the bassist knew of Meredith's influence.
"OK, keep thinking that, then," Lucy said with an innocent smile. "Anyways, on from private matters, how've you been doing?"
"Good, good... Got some awesome news I've been meaning to share with ya, seeing how you're like my unofficial little sister and all..." And that was true... she'd always sweetly thought of herself as the third Van Warren girl.
Lucy grinned at her. "Ooh, news? I hope that it's of the good variety. With your happy glow I think it's good. Tell me!"
"Ok. Don't laugh at me. I know I'm all tomboy and shit, but... Ok, you HAVE to meet Neely now, cuz... she kinda proposed to me and I kinda said yes and I'm kinda gonna gonna ask you to be a bridesmaid." Now that? Was a Van Warren ramble.
"Oh my god, you're getting married! That's so great!" Lucy squealed, reaching across the table and hugging Rachelle over it. "Have you guys made any plans yet? And of course I'll be a bridesmaid! Do you have colors picked out yet?"
"Whooaaaa there, slow down kemosabe..." She laughed, eyes wide. "Colors? Neely still hasn't full convinced me to not get hitched in combat boots and a Steelers jersey dude!"
"OK, you CANNOT get married in combat boots. A tux, sure, but not combat boots and a Steelers jersey!" There was no way that Lucy was letting this travesty happen.
"Not even if I sprung for an authentic Jack Lambert throwback jersey or some shit? I mean that's pretty pricey..." She inquired, arching an eyebrow. "God... I've really missed you, goofball. I dunno why it's hittin' me so hard but I literally wanna dive over this table and just tacklehug you."
"No! I don't care how expensive it is. Your wedding is something that's really only supposed to happen once." Didn't seem to work for their friends, but that's why it was an ideal, right? "You gotta go all the way for it, which includes dressing up. And you are welcome to hug me all you want."
"Fine, fine... I'll dress up. Damn, woman." But then she got up, walked over, and just wrapped the thin blonde up in a loving bear hug. "I love ya, Luce. You know that, right?"
"Of course! I love you, too!" Lucy said, giving Rachelle a squeeze. "And you should definitely dress up. Tux or dress, that doesn't matter, but this is something you'll want to remember, and you'll want to remember looking good," she pointed out to her friend.
"I may not be a little blonde bombshell like you, but I still ALWAYS look good, kid." Chelle retorted with a grin. "But no... I think Neely really wants to see me in a dress, so..."
"Well, that's something that you gotta decide there," Lucy said. "Although you would look great in a dress, too."
"Naw, I'll probably do it. She's amazing, you know? She deserves that if it'll make her happy." Aw. Look at this: Rachelle was getting all mushy. "I kinda get it now, Luce. How you get all swoony and shit when you think about Ash. It's like when I see Neely... my entire world just gets brighter."
Lucy smiled at her. "I'm glad that you finally have someone like that to be swoony over," she said to her, grinning wide. "Everyone should have someone that they get like that over."
"We're gettin' together with our "others" soon, babe. So we can get to know the important people in each other's lives." See? Chelle had a sweet side!
