Cute Cuddles and Such
Who: Lucy and Ash
Where: Ash's Place
When: Tuesday, 3/4, Afternoon
Ash and Lucy hadn't really left the house since she had gotten back. Meredith had been the one going out for things like food, errands, and basically being the adult here by letting everyone know that they were alright now. For someone so...wild before, now she was being all grown up and it made Lucy feel like she had been gone for years instead of just a few weeks. It boggled her mind, but all she wanted to concentrate on at the moment was Ash, who was in the bed with her, holding her at the moment. It was kind of hard to think of what to talk about, though. When you are raised from the dead by an ex-vampire, sometimes conversation topics can be lacking. Right now she was content to snuggle with him, though.
It felt like they'd laid there in silence for hours. Hell... Maybe they HAD. Ash was still in shock, really. He wasn't exactly sure how Mere had given him his Lucy back.... and at least for now? He didn't particularly care. He was just clinging to her, as if terrified she would vanish if he let go of her. "I... didn't wanna live without you. I almost ended it all..."
"I know," Lucy said. "I watched. I wanted to do something. Save you somehow, but I couldn't. It's not exactly allowed up there to interfere, at least usually." Oh, Mere had pulled a STUNT by doing this, but Lucy got the distinct feeling that, when it came to Ash, she'd probably give the middle finger to God itself and tell it to go to Hades or something if it did Ash any good to do so. "I missed you so much."
"Don't you understand, Lucy? You DID save me. You saved me in so many ways, when you came into my life. Its why I couldn't imagine going on without you..." He just clung to her, kissing her softly. "I think Mere's been calling everyone. Trying to explain this. I'm guessing you're going to have to leave soon, at least for a bit. Because we don't need your sister breaking the doors down here..."
"I think I do," Lucy said to him. "I want to do something THEN, though. I didn't want you to be sad and upset and angry at the world. I wanted you to be happy." She hoped that she was explaining it OK. She hadn't exactly thought that she was coming back, so it wasn't like she was expecting a reunion. Not to say that she wasn't hoping for it, though. Just that she hadn't thought it was possible. "No, Chloe wouldn't break down the door. Now, David might actually break down the door, though." She hoped that Meredith could explain to everyone what was going on.
"You realize that somehow..." This had just hit him again. "We have a kid now. Kind of."
Lucy looked down at her stomach and looked back at him, bewildered. "You know that quick? Chloe's gonna kill me!"
"Nonono! Luce. I meant... A bunch of kids kind of showed up from the future. One of them is our daughter." He raised an eyebrow and almost giggled as, well.... Yeah. That little freak-out? His girl was back. "And apparently she's creepy as hell."
Lucy breathed a sigh of relief. OK, so not pregnant at sixteen, that's good to know. "So, a bunch of kids from the future showed up, and one of them is ours? That's neat, actually," Lucy said with a grin. "So...she's like how everyone says you are then?"
"Pretty much. Mere said she's prone to magically choking people who piss her off, and she talks like a robot." And how wrong was it that he found this amusing?
"So she is like you!" Lucy said with a giggle. "Well, as long as she's happy, or her version of happy, then it's OK. Well, not the choking people part. That's kind of bad."
"Just a little." Knowing this would doubtlessly brighten her more, he had to throw it in. "Apparently one of the kids that came back with her belongs to Buffy and Kevin."
Lucy's eyes widened. "OMG, really?" Yeah, she said the initials of 'Oh my god.' "Is she cute? I bet she's adorable."
"I haven't actually met either of them yet. Been, um, sort of preoccupied." Yeah. With death and destruction. Go Ash! "The kids gotta be freaked though. Being the same age as us? Damn." Oh JESUS. As he was talking, he actually pulled a Lucy and got completely sidetracked as something else came to his mind. "Luce? I... I think there might be, if possible, one person who needs to see you even more than me right now."
She nodded. "Yeah, preoccupied with stuff," she said with a slight roll of her eyes. Talk about understatement of the year. "Who else? Do you mean David? Kevin?" Really, there was a list of people that she needed to see, and it was kind of huge.
"Honey... When you were... killed..." He choked on that word a little, "Kevin woke up tied to your body. He's been... a mess. Almost as bad as me."
Her eyes went wide. She hadn't known that. "Oh dear," she said. "Yeah, I do need to see him then, don't I? I didn't know..."
Ash still had the memory of HOW he'd found her. And that made him caress her face once, softly. "Never, ever leave me again."
She hugged him. "I'm never going to leave you again," she said. Technically, not a promise that she could make, but she was going to do everything in her power to keep it, though.
"Lucy... Look. I don't wanna ruin the... the surprise of it in the future... But I need you to know this." He had to tell her... What if this was meant to be his second chance? "I've been saving up. I know its not for a couple years... But I want to marry you. I was planning on waiting until you graduate to tell you... but that's just when it will be official. I needed you to know that I love you that much though."
She smiled at him. "Yes I'll marry you you goof. Did you think I'd say no or something? I got brought back from the dead and everything. If that's not a sign that we're meant to be together, then I don't know what is."
"Like I said... The day you graduate, I'll ask you officially. I promise." As it was, he knew he'd do anything it took to protect her now. And chillingly enough, even as calm as he was now... he knew that even included murder. Was part of his mind still broken? Maybe it was permanently so now.
"So, I'll get a ring and everything?" she asked him. Even though it was like, two years away, she couldn't help but feel excited about it. She was being asked her hand in marriage!
"Of course you will." He said with a laugh. "I doubt it'll be the kind your family usually gets, but... I'll do my best. I got a couple years to save up, so..."
"Don't worry about that," Lucy said to him. A big ole diamond wasn't what she cared about. What she really cared about was being his, and, well, she could get that without a ring at all, theoretically.
"As soon as Mere talks to everyone... we're getting together with everyone. We're gonna celebrate you coming back to us." Because Ash? Oh yeah. Total party animal.
She giggled. "We should throw a big party, like my coming out party, only it's raised from the dead party or something. Do they have those?"
"Well... Um... Babe? I'm thinking this isn't exactly a common thing, you know?" He couldn't help but laugh there, at her thought process. "Way Mere explained it... I'm guessing some of the people closest to us will know you're back, but... the world in general will forget you were ever gone."
She nodded. "It's probably better that way," she agreed. "Far less stuff to explain as to where I've been and everything. So, will everything think that I was there, that I was out sick or doing music stuff, or what?"
"You know? I have NO idea how that's gonna work. If they're gonna just think you were never gone to begin with, or think you were away, or what." They reallllly lived normal lives, huh. "For now, just.... just kiss me again? I missed it, so, so badly..." It felt like much longer than simply since she'd died... wonder why THAT was?
She moved forward and kissed him. While it may have seemed like forever, now she was sure that she was going to make up for lost time.
