Humans serve only one purpose in this world
Who: Ariana and Lena
Where: Jacobs Estate
When: Evening, well after sunset
A fiery red 1999 Ferrari 360 roared past the open gates of the estate to take the long paved road up to the grand house of Luke and Lena Jacobs. It had been sometime since the blonde had seen Lena, and tiring of traveling through Europe on her own, Ari made the decision to make her way to the Americas, specifically the city known as Los Angeles. Screeching the vehicle to a stop at the front doors Ari killed the engine and climbed out of the sports car dressed in a short, black and white sleeveless Versace dress and two inch black heels. The girl looking ever the seventeen year old she did well over one hundred years ago walked casually up to the front door to press an index finger to the be to sound her unexpected arrival. Taking a small step back Ari ran her hands over her dress to smooth out any wrinkles that the garment might have acquired during the drive into the city.
Lena was still doing a bit of thinking after her meeting and conversation with Devon a few days ago. When she heard the car pull up outside, she briefly hoped that it was Luke so that she wouldn't have to think of such things as morals but saw that it was instead one of her children. She smiled when she realized which one it was. "Ariana," she said when she opened the door. "Do come in. What do I owe the pleasure?"
"I can't simply pay a visit to my "mother"? The blonde questioned stepping through the threshold after having been invited in to give a brief hug and kiss to each of Lena's cheeks when she reached the other woman. "You do have a man servant to go fetch my luggage, don't you?" Looking up to her sire with a soft little smile. Ariana really couldn't be expected to lug her matching designer luggage from the car all the way into the house and then up god only knew how many stairs to the room Lena surely would allow her to stay in during her time in the City of Angels. That task was simply beneath her as was most manual labor.
"You're right. You can," Lena said to her. As Ariana asked if there was someone to fetch her luggage Lena waved to a nearby butler who would do just that. "So how was your journey?" Lena asked her as they went into the parlor.
"Long and tiresome. Europe is such a boresom place this time of year." Ari explained briefly following Lena from the entryway into the parlor. "So, how have you been, mother?" The blonde inquired with a smile as she settled herself onto one of the chairs with a crossing of her legs. "I hope you have been well and happy."
"Not so much, actually," Lena admitted to her. "Luke's gone and doesn't seem to want to be found by anyone, myself included. I'm not sure what to make of this recent development."
"That seems quite out of character for Luke." Ariana responded to the older woman quite obvious not liking what she had just been informed of. "Maybe he just needed a bit of alone time." Which the blonde vamp was of the opinion of being highly unlikely. Ariana hadn't recalled a time in all the years she had been a part of Lena's family that Luke had pulled a disappearing act like this before.
That's because there was no time that Luke had run off like this before. It *was* out of character for him to disappear. It was why she was worried, after all. She hadn't been aware that vampires could worry, either, for that matter. For being over five hundred years old, it seemed that she was learning new things all the time about being a vampire, at least as of late. "You may be right," Lena said to her, although she didn't sound convinced. "Can I get you something to drink or anything?"
"I am fine," at least for the moment, "I shall go out for a little bit of take out later," Ariana answered with a look that was unmistakable in meaning along with the bit of wickedness relayed within the grin that spread slowly across the younger vampire's features. LA had such a variety that Ari knew she'd find something to satisfy her tastes of the moment.
Lena smiled back at her. She had always liked Ariana, after all, and certainly wouldn't deny her getting her own food in LA. "I think you'll like LA," she said to Ariana. "It has a lot of variety that will allow you find exactly what you are looking for, whatever that might be."
"Shall I bring you back a tasty little morsel?" The blonde offered with the thought that a place as grand as the mansion Lena was living in surely had a containment area below ground to house a few little pets that'd be at their disposal anytime they wished. A little blood puppy or two to use at their convenience.
Lena thought on that for a moment. "Sure," she said finally. "I'm sure that a snack will put me in better spirits."
"I shall bring you back something special, then." Ariana promised with a smile when she stood up from her seat. "Something sweet that will surely lift you spirits."
Lena smiled up at her. "Thank you," she said to her daughter. Well, daughter of a sort, anyway. "I'm sure that you'll pick out something fitting."
"And after we feast we must catch up on each other lives. It has been much to long since we chatted." With a smile Ariana approached Lena to lean down slightly and press a tender kiss to the older woman's cheek. I shan't be long, mother." The girl smiled bright before turning on her heels to head for the front door.
Having Ariana around was already making her feel better. She was glad that the other girl would be here with her, even if it was just for a little while. "Take care," she said as the girl turned to leave. "We'll catch up when you return."
