Dancing Makes a Happy Gunn
Who: Ivy and Gunn
Where: Silky's
When: Monday Night - Feb. 15
Gunn was sitting at the bar while everyone was enjoying another good night after another hunt. Sure, he could be out there dancing with random chicks like some of the other guys were, but, well, he wasn't feeling like doing anything like that. He much preferred relaxing after a nest raid. Luckily for them, no one had been injured or anything tonight, so there was only things to celebrate, not anything to worry about or, worse come to worse, anyone to mourn. It looked like things were going very well for them lately.
This had been one of the infrequent times that Ivy had joined Gunn and his gang on a hunt, and like the others in the man's crew Ivy had hit the dance floor still a bit too hyped up to just be sitting at the bar enjoying a drink. As with some of the crew taking on some vamps pumped up the adrenaline leaving a need to work off the excess energy, and dancing was one way of burning some of it off.
"Would think you'd be wanting to do a bit of celebrating like everyone else." Ivy commented sliding onto the stool next to Gunn's after wandering on over to the guy when the current song ceased and the next one started to fill the club.
Gunn smirked at Ivy when she sat down next to him. "We all have different ways of unwinding, Ivy," he said to her. "Now, if that was an invitation to dance with you, though, I'll definitely accept."
"Buy a girl a beer and let her catch her breath and I might just pull you out onto the dance floor so you can show everyone what dancing is all about." Ivy grinned to the guy as she motioned to the tender to bring her over a beer.
He laughed, doing just that, putting down the money for the beer when the bartender came over with one. "So, what did make you want to come out with us tonight, anyway?"
"It had been a while since I went tracking around the city with you guys, felt tonight was a good a night as any." And then there was the fact that Ivy actually missed the big lug, and if he wasn't going to come around the archers club to see her then she figured she go seek him and his out. Besides there's nothing like a good old fashioned vamp kill to get a girl's blood running.
"It has kind of been a while, hasn't it?" Gunn asked her. "Sorry to not stop by as much lately at the shop. It's been busy in the streets lately." That was actually an understatement. The vamps were gathering in larger numbers together for some reason or another. Who the hell knew why?
"I've heard that." Ivy commented taking a swig from the bottle of beer that had been set down before her. Just because she didn't get out as much as she'd like with the crew didn't mean the club owner didn't catch the rumors and talk brought in by her regulars. "Got any ideas on that?"
"I'm really not sure what the hell is going on with that, either," Gunn admitted. "Vamps don't usually get in large ass clusters like that, though. It's almost like they're spooked or something." Whatever can spook a vampire was not something that he was relishing in facing, though.
Ivy nodded as she listened to the guy taking a drink of her beer before offering up a few words. "If I catch anything at the club I'll give you a call." Not that she'd hear any more then what was already going around, but one never knew what might find it's way onto the rumor mill.
"Thanks," he said, smiling at her. He finished off his own drink, looking forward to that dance that he was promised. He didn't want to think about why vamps were coming together in larger clusters for the night. There was always tomorrow for that.
Ivy finished off a good portion of her beer while eying the guy a moment. "You're gonna make me take the lead on this aren't you?" The woman questioned setting her beer back down on the bar top. "Even though you know you're aching to get out there." The brunette smirked knowing that look of his all too well. The look that said he was wanting to do something but would refrain from unless prodded into it. And then from Ivy's experience he'd try playing the innocent act like he didn't know what she was talking about.
"Well, I wouldn't presume to know what a lady such as yourself wants," Gunn said playfully, standing up from the bar. "I wouldn't want to push you into anything that you wouldn't want to do, you know."
"That's only cause you know me well enough to know I'd push back." Ivy returned with a playful smile, the brunette digging into the front left pocket of her jeans as she slid down off her stool. Once standing she tossed a few bills on the bar to pay for the drinks.
"Nah, I'm buying your drink, remember?" Gunn asked her, hanging her the money back from off the bar. "Gotta be a man in some way if I'm not gonna be the one to ask you to dance, right?"
"Far be it from me to keep you from being the man, Gunn." Ivy accepted the money back with a nod and stuffed the bills back into the pocket of her jeans. "So. Ask." She said a brief moment later to let the guy play the part of the man. And Gunn definitely was all man from Ivy's perspective.
Gunn smiled. "Care to make me a happy man and join me for a dance," he asked, even holding out his hand to her.
"Now how could any girl in her right mind so no to such an invitation." Ivy smiled extending out her hand to slid it gently onto his. The brunette then followed when Gunn led her out onto the dance floor just as another selection of music from the DJ filled the club.
As if the DJ had a sense of the crowd, or at least two people in it at the moment, the next song played was a slower one. It wasn't quite what he expected, but Gunn pulled her closer just the same. Like he was going to turn down an opportunity like this?
"So much for seeing how well you move on the dance floor." Ivy teased softly when Gunn pulled her in closer to the slow sounds of the music currently playing. The dark haired woman placed her hands gently on the man's shoulders when she looked up to catch his gaze. "Have to say though, you certainly do have some smooth moves, Gunn." The brunette smiled softly as the words flowed seamlessly from her lips.
"I've still got a few moves that I can show you out here," he said, spinning her around playfully. "You've got a few moves on you as well," he told her, smiling back as well.
"I guess maybe I do." Ivy said with a soft laugh in return letting Gunn move her smoothly around the dance floor to the semi slow rhythm of the music pulsating through the club.
"We should hang out more," Gunn said to her. It sounded like an almost too obvious thing for him to actually say out loud, but, well, if he didn't say it, then it might not happen, you know? And he really didn't want that to happen.
"Yeah we should," Ivy agreed. Gunn was probably the one person in all of L.A. that she was closest to and it was a shame to say that she saw a couple of the regulars at the archer's club more then she did him. Well, hopefully that was about to be rectified. There had definitely been a connection between the two ever since Gunn and his crew had rescued Ivy from a vampire attack a few short years back. It had actually been her initiation into the world of the supernatural as the dark haired young woman hadn't known of the existance of vampires or other supernatural things prior to that night.
He had also noticed the connection between them. It was something he had tried to ignore for a while. Close attachments were not always good things in the lives that him and his friends led. They could get you killed in an effort to protect the person, or drive you insane if the person died some way or another. Still, it had to be worth a shot, right? "Then that is something that we'll just have to fix, won't we?"
Ivy glanced up to catch his eyes once more to try and read what was reflected within them taking a few brief seconds before voicing anything in return. "I guess we'll have to do just that." The brunette smiled softly up to him.
