Hiring Some Help
Who: Delilah and Candy
Where: Ashes to Ashes Magic Shop
When: Monday, Feb. 8th
It was around noon on Monday and Candy was in the process of job hunting. She still hadn't found one since she came to town and her funds were going to eventually run out. She was walking down the street, looking for help wanted signs in windows when she came across what looked to her as a newly opening shop. A quick peek in the windows told her it was a magic shop. She was ecstatic, maybe they'd need help. She stepped inside the place and looked around for the owner(s).
Delilah was sitting behind the counter of Ashes to Ashes, her finally opened up magic shop. The name was sort of a pun, but she figured that Ash would understand and maybe even find it amusing. Even though she had always studied magic, it was sort of his fault that she had gotten SO extra interested lately. So, she named the shop after him. While she did enjoy being there, and Sin even came for training purposes, she knew that she couldn't be here ALL the time. She had other duties to fulfill as well. So, she had stuck a 'Help Wanted' sign in the front window. When someone came inside, Delilah perked up. "Can I help you?" she asked the girl as she came in, her British accent still as clipped as ever.
Candy did a quick sweep of the place before walking up to the counter. It had a very nice set up. "Hello." She said in a friendly tone and gave the girl behind the counter a smile. "Are you still doing an hiring? I saw your sign but a few other places I stopped today told me the position had been filled." Although, her blue hair could have attributed to that. "If it's not filled, I'd like an application please."
Delilah smiled and pulled an application out from under the front counter and handed it to the girl. "No, I'm still hiring plenty," she admitted. She wasn't worried about the girl's hair color. She did work with Sin, after all. "Here you go."
"Thank you." Candy replied and took the application, grateful that she was going to be given a chance, maybe. "Are you who I would want to bring it back to? I mean, are you the owner?"
"Yes, I'm the owner," Delilah said to her. "I'm Delilah Zamora, and you can bring it to me when you fill it out, or you can fill it out here. Whatever works for you."
Candy held out her hand. "I'm Candy. It's nice to meet you." She sat the application down on the counter. "Do you have a pen, and I can go ahead and fill it out for you?"
Delilah nodded, grabbing a pen and handing it to her. "Nice to meet you as well."
Candy took the pen from her with a nod of thanks and then started working on her application. She had two, in her opinion, decent references that she hoped would help in her favor, although neither were from shops. "Do you need more than two prior places of employment?" she asked.
Delilah shook her head. "No, two is more than enough," she said to the other girl.
"Oh, good." Because she had only had two jobs. One at a coffee house type deal and one where she sat and answered a phone all day. The latter had lasted a month before she had gotten sick of doing nothing most of the time and quit.
Delilah nodded and waited for her to fill out the rest of her application.
Candy finished filling out her application, after taking a minute to remember her new address. She kept wanting to write down her old one. "Here you are." She said and handed it back over the counter to her.
"Thank you," Delilah said, taking the application. She looked it over for a minute before asking, "When would be a good time for an interview with you?"
Candy thought for a minute. Well, she wasn't really a morning person, but, had to do what you had to do. "Anytime is fine. I can be here whenever you'd like." Which, she could.
"How about tomorrow at four then?" Delilah asked her. "Would that be OK with you?"
"Four would be fine with me. Do I need to bring proof of residence or my id for any paperwork?" She asked.
"Just your ID will suffice," Delilah said to her. "I look forward to seeing you tomorrow then."
"Thanks again." Candy said, still smiling. "I'll see you at four." She gave a nod and then headed back out of the shop, happy about her interview the following day.
