Puppy Love
Who: Deanna and Kayla
Where: Deanna’s Apartment
When: Sunday, January 31st (Majorly backdated since I forgot to post it. *blush*)
There was one thing Kayla liked about Sundays... no class! Well, technically she didn’t have class on Saturday, either, but that was when she caught up with her coursework and whatnot. So, today, after her terrible shift at the coffee stand, she decided to pay Deanna a visit. She didn’t call beforehand, but she figured she’d make the trip anyway and try her luck, and so, there she was at Deanna’s front door in black jeans and a white tank-top. She knocked and did a little dance while she waited, since she couldn’t seem to stand still.
After looking through the peephole to see who it was, Deanna actually 'squee'd and swung the door open, wearing little blue bicycle shorts and a white tank. She grinned at the brunette and threw her into a HUGE hug. "It's like you read my mind, sexy! Get yerself in here!"
Kayla laughed at the hug and lifted Deanna off the ground with ease, giving her a little twirl on the spot before plopping her down again and following her inside. "I wasn’t sure you’d be home," she admitted.
"Yeah, I kinda asked Ben for a week or so off, so I can concentrate more on us. I'm awesome like that." The blonde said with a big grin. "And I was thinking about something... and you can NOT say no to this." She pulled out a little keychain with a heart on it, with one single key on it. "This is a key to my apartment. Come and go as you like. If you decide you wanna LIVE here, I'd love it. But I know you hate your roomie... anytime you wanna get the hell outta there, you come here, whether I'm home or not."
"Whoa..." was Kayla’s very articulate response. Her big blue eyes widened at Deanna comically and she blinked a few times before taking the key. She smiled at the keychain and then blinked some more. That was awfully… generous, and unexpected. Very unexpected. "Uhm, I don’t think awesome really covers it."
"I rush into things. Always have. I almost always get hurt... but somehow my stupid self never learns. So... just don't hurt me, ok?" She asked with a pleasant, almost adorably honest tone.
"I honestly hadn’t planned on it," Kayla replied, before stuffing the key into her pocket and giving Deanna another hug, lifting her off the ground a little. "And hey, I think that’s what I like most about you. You’re optimistic."
"I just adore you. I know I let myself fall WAY too fast for every person I date... but I can’t stop THINKING about you. I gushed to poor Meredith for what felt like hours about you." She admitted with a blushy laugh.
Awr, that was the sweetest thing ever. Kayla blushed and hung her head cutely, "I honestly didn’t think I could date again so soon," she admitted. "But you just surprised me."
"Oh. Heh. Yeah. Also? Meredith wants to meet you. Which slightly frightens me on several levels." Both on the 'Mere will embarrass me' level and the 'Kayla will find Mere way hotter' level.
Kayla made a little face at that, "I maaaay have already met her. A little. I kinda went to see her at Saints and Sinners last night. She seems nice! A little ... err, different, maybe?" She wrinkled her nose cutely, unsure how to explain the weird feelings in her tummy that she got from Meredith.
"Really?" Well! Kayla met her, yet is still here being gushy about her! So... yay! "Great! You guys got along, I hope? She's my best friend in, well.. pretty much the WORLD."
"We did. I can see why you’re friends with her, she’s soooo nice. Super protective of you, too," she added with a grin. "She didn’t go so far as to say that if I broke your heart she’d kick my ass, but I kinda got the impression she would." She laughed.
"She probably would." And possibly tear the girl's throat out, too... but Deanna mercifully left that out for now.
"With a song in her heart and a grin on her face, I’m sure." She laughed again. "Fortunately I said I didn’t plan on doing that, so I think we’re golden."
"Good. Because a catfight between you two? While undoubtedly hot beyond words, would NOT be to my liking." The blonde giggled, rocking back in her seat a little.
Kayla giggled as well. Being around Deanna always put her in a good mood. "Check, no catfight." She rubbed the back of her neck thoughtfully, "sooooo, a week off, huh? What’re you going to do with all that free time?"
"You?" She winced then, having had another classic 'Deanna speaks without thinking first' moment. "Wow. I neeeeed to zip the lip."
"Nah, I don’t think you should," Kayla replied, leaning across the small space to give Deanna a quick kiss, "I mean, especially if it’s true."
"I can't help it!" Deanna looked embarrassed but was laughing. "I've had like... Kayla-On-The-Brain for days now. It's like... like some illness!"
"Sounds like a serious illness you’ve got there," Kayla teased. "Fortunately it’s not terminal, provided you see Kayla as often as possible." She could be cute with the best of them.
"Well!" The dancer huffed as she crossed her arms. "...think my insurance covers the medicine? Because...." then she stopped, and burst into giggles. "OK.. I can't think of anything else."
Kayla just laughed and shook her head, "it’s all good, babe. I’m in the same situation. Only Deanna-on-the-brain," she rolled her eyes cutely. "I think Meredith might have gotten bored by how much I gushed about you."
"No way. Trust me on this: Mere is SO protective of me, she was probably loving every minute of it." Oh, how Mere wanted Lindsey dead after everything. "Now... when you meet BEN? Yeah. He'd be bored. Probably end up staring at your chest and tuning it out."
"I would have to smack him upside the head if he did that," Kayla said with a laugh. She wasn’t a violent person, really, but little things like that kind of irritated her. A little.
"Can't say I'd blame him. He's a horndog as it is, plus...." She grinned, "Ya really DO have a great rack."
Kayla actually looked down at her chest then, assessing one breast then the other. "Huh, so I do," she grinned. She was probably the most self-conscious person on the planet when it came to her body, but she was willing to go along with it.
"Silly me, being the stripper when CLEARLY you're far hotter than I." Deanna sighed dramatically, putting her hand to her forehead like an old-fashioned southern belle. "Speaking of which... you should come see me at work sometime." She wagged her eyebrows with a grin.
Kayla laughed at that, "Please, I can barely contain myself as it is with you now. You get your dance on, what’s to stop me from pouncing you then and there?" She was teasing. A little.
"...hopefully nothing?" Deanna responded, once again having not mastered that whole 'not saying what you're thinking' thing.
"Oh rrrreeeally?" The Slayer giggled as she tangled her fingers in her short hair. She wanted to take it slow, for both their sakes, but… at the same time? Pouncing was inevitable.
