Interesting People
Who: Michele and Ash
Where: Eden
When: Monday Night, Dec. 28
Michele was out for a bite to eat at the moment. She was feeling something blond tonight. Really, was there any other way to chose dinner for the night that something ridiculously random? She had yet to put her plan into full action yet. She was thinking of waiting until the new year, but, then again, she had gotten a lead as to when something very interesting would arrive tomorrow night, so she would be able to start then. As long as she caught it, which she assumed that she would.
For now, though, dinner. As she scanned the room, a blond haired boy caught her attention who was sitting at the bar. He would do. He looked very interesting. She made her way over to him.
Ash, meanwhile, was actually enjoying himself. He'd started coming to Eden mostly because he kind of wished death and dismemberment on Benjamin Bale, but was actually starting to like the ambiance of the place. Lucy, tonight, was spending some quality time with Kevin & Chloe, leaving Ash to just sit at a small table, enjoying the music.
He caught the gaze of the woman approaching him, wondering why she was looking at him like something to eat. And in this town? That was a possibility.
Michele smiled at him as she sat down, leaving an open seat between them in hopes of putting the boy at ease. She had seen him tense up as she approached. She really needed to stop looking at people like food. People seemed to notice that more in LA, if only because many were used to the fact that people liked to use and toss people away here like cheap rags.
She ordered herself a drink (something pink and fruity that she planned on drinking slowly to give her time to seduce), and sipped at it for a minute before turning to him and smiling again. "Hello," she said to him, French accent coming out. She had personally never bothered to get rid of it like some people had done theirs
"Hey." He replied, smiling to her. Interesting accent. "Can I help you?" He didn't seem even slightly interested in her, sexually. Whether this was due to his devotion to Lucy, his stoic nature, or a mixture of the three remained to be seen.
If she cared that he wasn't showing any real interest, she didn't show it. "Just looking for someone to talk to," she said to him with a sweet looking smile. "I hope that I am not bothering you too much. I'm new to LA."
"Not bothering me at all." He replied. And she wasn't. Hell, Ash wasn't about to bitch about a pretty woman talking to him. "I've only been here about a year myself, so... I know the feeling."
She kept smiling at him. "I worry if people will be friendly here. You here so many rumors that Americans aren't friendly in France, but I was hoping that they were wrong." She offered him her hand. "I am Michele."
This had to at least partially be an act. Nobody that comes to a place like Eden could be this innocent. Still, just in case, he took her at her word. "People can be jerks anywhere. Its all in who you talk to. I'm Ash." He said, taking her hand and shaking it softly.
Even humans played up an act of innocence. People were always on good behavior when they first met someone. That was how she felt about it. "Then I think I picked a good person to talk to."
"You could definitely have picked worse." He joked, smirking, as face it... safety-wise, Ash was a damn good person to know. "I think my girlfriend would probably agree with you."
"You have a girlfriend?" Michele asked. She didn't sound disappointed, so maybe she wasn't looking to pick someone up. In what she really wanted, things like girlfriends didn't matter, anyway. "Is she nice?"
Somehow, power seemed to emanate from him in waves, unintentionally, even. "I do. My Lucy." He was so possessive of her, it ranged somewhere between cute and somewhat creepy. "She's my everything."
Well, this was very interesting. She could feel the power radiating from him. Even an idiot human could in some capacity, he was so strong. "That's beautiful," she said to him. "She's very lucky to have some so protective of her as you seem to be."
"SHE'S beautiful." Ash answered proudly, a slow smile crawling onto his lips. It seemed that where his love for Lucy was concerned, Ash really straddled a fine line between romantic and stalker.
Michele actually understood stalkerish tendencies better than most would. She had finally broken down and followed someone here from across the ocean, even with the treat of death over her head. "I bet that she is," Michele said to him. "You look like you are very in love."
"Without a doubt. So what brings you to Eden tonight?" He changed the topic, knowing nobody wants to hear gushing for too long.
She actually didn't mind the gushing. She could do it about Luke for hours on end, if she was allowed. "Getting out, meeting new people, hoping to see the few in LA that I already know."
"Can't say I really... hang out with many people." And that was the truth. Other than Lucy, Gwen, Mere, and his own sister, Ash really had no 'friends'.
"Well, I really only am good friends with one I know," Michele admitted. "It's somewhat hard for me to make friends. I move around a lot."
"I know what you mean. I'm... not the most outgoing guy myself. I'd offer to help you meet people, buuut..." He laughed and blushed shamefully. "I don't have tons of friends either."
"It's not about quantity," she told him. "It's about quality of friends. If you have a few you can trust, then you are good."
"Ohhh..." He snorted there, thinking of Mere. "I've got a few that I'm fairly certain would kill for me."
"Really?" So, he had friends that interesting as well? "You certainly live an...interesting life then."
"You have NO idea, dear." He snickered, her being... interesting herself never crossing his mind.
"So, what is it like to live with such an exciting life?" she asked him.
"Interesting. And much harder than I'd wish on anyone." Especially now, with his recent struggles in staying on the right side of things.
"You sound much wiser than your youth would show," she said simply. She decided that she wouldn't eat this one. He was interesting and, while she was trying to get Luke's attention back on her, well, she needed something to pass the time. "Why so hard?"
"I've spent the last few years of my life on the... dark side of life and staying on the straight and narrow? A lot harder than it looks." That was a nice, simplistic way of putting it.
She nodded. While she would never fight her own nature, she could understand how hard it would be to fight against something that screamed inside of you to be released. "Why do you fight it? Is it for her?"
"She... makes me want to be a better person. That's for sure." He really thought about that question, before giving a full answer. "But there are others. They put their faith in me. I don't want to let them down." He thought of Giles, Buffy, Patience... all the people who thought so highly of him.
She nodded. "I understand the need to impress someone," she said to him. That she understood all too well. "To want to make them happy."
"Then maybe we have more in common than I realized." He said simply, nodding as he raised his drink in salute.
She raised hers as well, taking a drink and finishing it off. She had been sipping at it throughout their conversation. She looked down at her watch, which she only used for looks, typically. "I should probably get going. It's so late and I haven't even eaten dinner yet." She looked up at him and smiled. If only he knew just how close to dinner he had been before truly catching her interest.
"Understood. See you around?" He asked, hoping for another chance to peg just what power he felt around her.
"Yes, I think we will see each other around," she said, standing up and paying her bill for the drink. "See you soon, Ash."
