Asswhooping R. Us
Who: Jarrod and Faith
Where: The Gym
When: Tuesday, Dec. 8th
Faith decided to find a different way of working out some of her frustration. Her friend was starting to drink herself into an early grave, since Slayer healing can only do so much if you kept hammering at it. Drinking herself wasn't doing it, though. So, she found a gym to work out at. It helped a little bit, though. Right now she was working out on the bench press, lifting up way more weight than a girl her size should be able to do. Still, it was fairly early in the day, so she wasn't worried about too many people seeing and wondering just what in the hell was going on.
For once, the hoots and hollers werent directed at her... no, this time they were ones that sounded impressed, and were sent toward the boxing ring in the middle of the gym, where two young men were facing off, MMA-style. One, a large, heavy-but-solid pale man, was towering over the other, a thin-yet-muscular bronze-skinned boy. What brought on the hollering though, was the move that ended the fight: the larger man had lunged at the smaller one, who deftly moved out of the way, reached down, tripped the man up into a back guard, and just started raining punches down at the back of the man's head and neck for about three seconds until the referee jumped in and stopped the fight, pulling the smaller boy off of him.
Faith heard all of the hooting and hollering and, after a few minutes, stopped what she was doing to go and see what was going on. She got up there just in time to see the referee pulling the smaller guy off of the larger one. Damn, looked like she wasn't the only surprise around here. She cheered for him as they were being separated and pulled away from each other.
The ref raised the boy's arm, and announced to the others watching: "Winner by TKO, round two: Jarrod Moore!" The boy calmed down a little, walking back to his corner, before dropping to the mat and rolling out of the ring to grab a bottle of water, taking off the padded helmet he wore and flinging it towards a locker.
Faith walked up to him, keeping her distance because, as she knew, being too keyed up after a fight could lead to accidental hitting if people weren't careful. "Hey, great job in there," she said to him.
Far from being amped up... he seemed more calm now, just catching his breath. "Hey... thanks." Well now. He certainly had never seen her around before.
"So, do you just do this for fun or is this like, your profession?" Faith actually thought about doing something like this if she made it to retiring age, as far as being a Slayer went.
"Both. I'm in training... trying to get into UFC after I graduate." He poured some of the water over his head, cooling himself down. "I'm Jarrod. Nice to meet you."
"Wicked," she said. "I'm Faith." She offered her hand to him. "UFC then. I've been thinking about doing something like that. They got something for females, or am I regulated to the WWE?"
Oh, did that make him laugh. "Hey, lotta money to be made there. And no... I don't know of any female MMA stuff yet. Who knows though? Maybe you can try to start something like that." Ok, a girl that looked like THAT? That liked to fight? Wicked indeed.
"I want to actually fight, though. Sure, injuries are real there, but everything else is so set up like a soap opera that it kinda turns me off," she said to him. "I bet I can get something started. I can't be the only chick who does this."
"You have a good point. Problem is finding some kind of organization for it, you know?" He finished the water off by gulping down the half he hadn't poured on himself. "Maybe I can talk to the guy that's been training me, see if he knows about anything like that."
She nodded. "I'd really appreciate that, actually." She wondered just how seriously he was taking her, though. "You up for showing a girl a few of your moves?"
"I..." to say that caught him a little by surprise would be taking it lightly. "I mean, I could show you how to do a few of the take down..." It wasn't like he was gonna spar with a girl. No fucking WAY.
Oh, this was amusing. Still, she played along. "OK, sure. We can start with a few take downs," she said to him, grinning.
"Alright..." he had thought of taking her into the ring, but two others guys had already started sparring in there. So instead, he led her over to where a few grappling mats were spread out on the floor, and tossed a few pads to her. Mostly they were to protect her head, elbows, and knees. "Here... put these on, and I'll show you how to do a few of the take downs."
She'd rather not put them on, but, for appearances sake, started putting them on, anyway. Once she had them on, she looked over at him. "Alright, ready," she said, ready to mess with the guy a little bit by whipping his ass. Amusing enough, right?
Crouching a bit, he slowly moved to (no jokes kthanks) position himself between her thighs, his hands moving to grip her hips tightly. "Ok... now... what you want to do is reach down, go for the ankles from this position, and literally take their feet out from under them."
"OK," Faith said. Pausing for a minute to get her bearings, she did just that, grabbing him by the ankles and pulling his feet out easily under him. "Like that?" she asked.
Jesus! He hit the mat HARD, not really being prepared for her to take him down so... easily. Chick was STRONG. "Wow. Ok.... I guess... next time, just make sure you come down between the other person's thighs, so they can't kick at you. And be ready to rain down punches like a storm."
"Alright," she said to him, as if she was taking all of this in. Well, she was taking it in, but maybe not as newly as this guy thought she was.
"Damn..." He muttered as he got up, rubbing his tailbone. "You sure you're new at this?"
"I know kung-fu," she said playfully to him, smirking. So, maybe she wasn't all that new at it. Didn't hurt to learn a few new take downs though, did it?
Even with her slayer instincts, though... his skill enabled him to surprise her at least ONCE. He quickly spun behind her, heel jutting out to sweep back her foot as he pushed forward, swiveling his body to hold her loosely in a rear forward guard before letting her go. "Now... as you just saw? Surprise is the best weapon you have here."
He was lucky she wasn't in Slayer mode, or she would have kicked him across the room. No, now she was in play mode. Good for him for catching her off guard. "Damn right it is," she said, getting back to her feet, still grinning at him.
"See, if you can get on top of someone like that, with their face down, unless they're totally trained to fend that off, it's easy to get in a quick knockout punch." If he'd realized that he just took down a frikkin' SLAYER, he'd likely have a ego boost there.
Faith listened and nodded, slowly moving so that she was standing beside Jarrod. She reached behind his back and hooked his head with her other hand extending his nearest arm, then while hooking the his leg and falling backward, pulling Jarrod down back-first. "So, get the surprise like this?" she asked, smiling sweetly.
"Y-Yeah. That's actually damn good." Poor guy. He had NO idea what this girl was... and now felt like a bit of a wimp. "You... you really got me there."
She let him go and stood back up. Giles had actually taught her that move. She so had to tell him about this. She took down a potential MMA fighter. "Just shows that you're a good teacher," she pointed out to him.
"And so sensitive to my feelings, too..." He chuckled as he got up, dusting himself off. "So..." hey... he had been flirting up a storm with Kat and Clarity, but was he actually DATING either of them yet? No. So shuddup. "Would an actual evening out with you consist of conversation, or just you kicking my ass?"
"I'm a pretty good conversationalist as well," Faith said with a smirk. She was pretty good at other things as well, but he might just find out about that later, if he was lucky. "Now, if you want me to kick you ass, I'm willing to do so."
"You know, I think I can live without getting whooped by a girl again. No offense." God, if the scouts at The Lion's Den heard about this, he'd be fucked. "Seriously though. I'm not seeing anyone seriously right now... if you aren't either, we should go out sometime."
"Not doing anything serious lately," Faith said, still grinning at him. Hell, other than a random pick up, she wasn't seeing much of anyone at the moment. "We should go out sometime."
"Give me your number?" He asked, smirking as he took out his cell phone. "Or do I just find you by following the trail of broken bodies?"
"Well, you could, but calling me would be quicker," she said to him. She told him her number quickly. "Just give me a shout sometimes. Oh, if an older guy answers, that's just my guardian. He's cool, so don't freak out or anything." Easier to say he was her guardian than, well, anything else.
"Well, at least he's not your sugar daddy, right?" He said with a laugh. The girl's accent was pretty killer. He had something of a soft spot for Bostonian accents. Always had.
She actually laughed at that, thinking of when they first met and she thought that Giles was offering to be such a thing. If only Jarrod knew what was up. "Well, it'll be wicked cool to hear from you, so give me a call."
"You know it." Oh, damn did he plan on calling. For REAL.
