Friendly Advice
Who: Ginny & Irene
Where: Eden
When: Sunday evening (Dec. 6th)
Irene was at the bar, listlessly sitting at it with a soda in front of her. She had her two or three weeks of, "Ok, I screwed up big time so I'm just gonna get drunk for a bit," but now it was time to start moving on. The witch only wished Gwen could do the same, but considering Irene was the one who seemed to be hurting Kevin it wasn't exactly the same for Gwen. The Slayer had been fully invested in her relationship with Skylar and while Irene thought she had been with Kevin...Well, Fate seemed to have other plans.
"Penny for your thoughts, G?" Ginny's sweet whisper of a speaking voice could probably barely be heard over the music by most that werent accustomed to how she spoke. The pale, gothy singer had been hanging with her friend for the evening, as Lexi was doing something with Stephanie, who she'd sort of taken on as an apprentice-slash-little sister. "You look worried. And for once, it doesn't look like it's YOU you're worried about."
The bassist was a little unaware of just how much a lot of them were connected just before she spoke up, "There's this...other girl. We're in a similar siuation and we've sort of been seeing each other." Irene sighed, taking a sip of her soda, "She's had more time to deal with her break up than me, but for whatever reason, she's just not getting over it or making any attempt to..."
"Poor thing..." Ginny knew about heartbreak all too well, and she felt her heart go out to the poor thing. "I knew you liked girls, G, but I never saw you try to DATE one before..." she grinned, giving a playful punch to the shoulder. "Sounds like you might think she's something special..."
A small smile curved Irene's lips at the playful gesture Ginny bestowed upon the witch and she combed her fingers through her shortened hair once. Irene shrugged, "Maybe it's too soon to jump on the bandwagon, but...yeah, Gwen is special. It would be nice if she thought that about herself instead of drowning herself in a bottle." The bassist heaved a sighed, stealing another sip of soda.
"Gw-GWEN?" Ginny started putting the name with the info Irene had given her. "G... please tell me we're not talking about Gwen Morrison. Please."
Irene blinked in surprised, "You know this bird?" She asked incredulously and added, "Bloody hell!" The witch looked away, a little embarassed now.
"Not personally, no..." Hoooooboy. This was NOT gonna be the fun part. "You remember our new label-mates, yes? Suicide Messiah?"
The bassist nodded, "Sure, I remember."
"Well. You heard about all their drama? Their singer cheated on her wife, then left her for the guy that owns our label?" Ginny sighed, hoping Irene wasn't about to have a Chevy-Chase-In-'Vacation' sized flipout. "Gwen was that wife."
Irene's well groomed brows shot upward in surprised and after a moment, the witch recovered, "...Oh." The wtich looked away, giving Ginny her profile as a hand lifted to press against her lips.
"Just be careful. I don't even care about the drama... just don't hurt the girl again. She's... supposedly in a REALLY bad place. James messed her up BAD." Leave it to Skylar to convince Ginny that sometimes women could be as vicious as men. "Believe me... all that crap was the reason I was so hesitant to sign with Bale's label originally. It took a LOT of convincing after that."
Irene slid off the barstool, pulling out several crumped bills from within her bra and paid for her drink. Smiling to Ginny, the bassist impulsively kissed the singer on the cheek, "Thanks, love. I think...I should go talk to her a bit."
"Whoa... Irene..." Ginny paused, feeling like hell now. "Wait... please. I support you, ok? I mean it. You're my bandmate and my friend. I consider you a sister. I just want to see you be careful is all?"
"I know, darling. Honestly, I'm more than likely going to be Rebound Girl for the time being until Gwen finds someone special again. But until that time comes, she should know that she's wanted by someone at the very least." Irene shrugged and said a little more quietly, studying an aspect of Ginny's clothing, "Besides...I can't wait around for Kevin to change his mind, now can I?"
"And eventually..." ok, so she had to tease the girl a LITTLE. "You'll be with someone who's NOT connected to that band somehow!" She giggled, sounding like anything BUT the madwoman she acted onstage.
A playful shove was given to the singer while Irene giggled with her, "Very amusing." The witch pretended to be offended despite the little smile on her lips.
"For the record?" Hey, what did Ginny have to lose saying this? Wasn't like she was close to any of the people in question. "Gwen? Probably nice enough. Definitely pretty. But I think you can do better."
The blond arched a brow and then teasingly shot back, "Oh? You have someone else in mind?"
Well. Had she asked Ginny this question prior to her meeting Lexi, the half-demon would have had a MUCH different answer to the question. "Not in particular, no. I just think you deserve someone with class. But as I said. If you're happy with her, and you think you can STAY happy with her... don't be afraid to fight for her."
Irene smiled leaning in to kiss Ginny on the cheek again, "I'll keep that in mind for the future, love. Thank you." The bassist waved farewell to the bartender before saying goodbye to the singer, "I'll see you at practice!"
